Pravda Cafe & Grill

The food was delicious, I had the salmon main and the service was great. Our waiter was friendly and efficient.

Lovely ambiance, great hospitality (thank you Dex!) and incredible food. Our night out exceeded our expectations! Lovely fresh & tempura oysters, beef tartare (a wee bit of hot sauce is added, which we loved!), beautiful steaks and some lovely sides (fries, cos salad and carrots) - we’d all order it again tomorrow if we could.

Staff attentive and helpful, they know the Menu well and are willing to adjust some Menu items to your taste. Also knowledgeable about the Wine. Didn't have to wait long for our food- and the Cheese Board had a good variety of quality Cheese. Our booth towards the back of the Restaurant enabled us to talk while enjoying the ambience. I would highly recommend Pravda as an excellent venue for service, food quality, ambience and value. I will definitely return again and again. Thank you Pravda Café for a wonderful experience

Quite a nice quiet atmosphere if you want to go somewhere laid back this is it, we enjoyed the salad, slightly overpriced but still decent.

A group of 13 of us went to Pravda for Xmas lunch. Service was very good, my lamb main was delicious and the chocolate fondant sublime. We worked our way through some very classy reds and it was good to see a lot of thought put into the wine list. Mains took a long time but they were packed out so fair enough. I would recommend Pravda as a very good quality restaurant for food and wine lovers.

A beautiful place in Wellington! Really awesome! I found it quite pricy but the quality of service, food and atmosphere is definitely worth it.

Apologies for the lack of a detailed photo. Came here with colleagues for their express lunch. Not overly hungry, I opted for half a doz oysters and sparking water. Serving San Pellegrino is always a good idea, and the oysters (although small) hit the spot. My colleagues went for the 2 course express lunch which they seemed to find fine. One of them loved their choc and raspberry dessert. Service was polite.

This place boasts the most delicious food I've had in a long time. The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. I would recommend the cauliflower soup with truffle mascarpone, I had to cancel my main as I didn't want to waste it as it was so good.

Delicious dinner, beautiful interior with a romantic feeling. Perfect for date night or dinner with friends. Service was great, supised how large the meals were, we couldn't fit dessert. Delicious cocktails. You can order some wines by the half glass which is perfect if your driving. Not alot on offer if you don't eat meat but wasn't an issue for us. Will definitely be back.

We needed to get an early lunch and Pravda is a pleasant restaurant with a high ceiling and spacious layout. The use of wood in the decor contributed to a pleasant ambience. We just had burgers, which were delicious, but certainly there are more ambitious menu items. The staff were relaxed and pleasant.

Haven't really done fine dining. A really comfy place, waiters helpful af. Oysters were good though careful as some might have digested shells. The creme brulee custard was so textured and smooth. A good experience

Delicious.best lamb I've ever had. Went here for a company xmas function. I choose the lamb.party of 23, service was excellent as were all meals.

This Restaurant never disappoints. The food is wonderful and the staff definitely go the extra distance to accommodate their customers. I so love visiting this place when I visit Wellington.

My first cheese scone in Welly and boy did it set the standard high! Crispy, fluffy (everyone says it's the best in Welly and i can see why)

Elegant and opulent cafe/restaurant/bar. We only popped in for a coffee but thoroughly enjoyed the coffee (they use local beans from Mount Victoria) and the atmosphere while in there. The staff who served us was lovely and the wait times were minimal. We will be back to try the restaurant.

I was treated extremely rudely by the front of the house staff yesterday. First my mask was loose and this young girl barked orders at me. Considering the fact that I am ‘encouraged’ by regulations to wear one but by no means required (!) it could be more rude to speak ti me on that manner. On my way out - the stairs and the lower part were empty (!) I didn’t think of putting the mask on. Same girl ordered me, not even asked kindly, but barked order to put my mask on. And when I told her that I could but btw was not required she started to tell me that in this country (as opposed to some other savage country I supposedly come from as I obviously spoke with an accent? !) I have to wear a mask, she asked me if I was crazy next! I said that I was just going to pay and leave she yelled at me saying She didn’t want my money anyway and that I should get out and never come back!
I had my view at the situation and I politely stated it, I was no less than abused and shoved out. Remind you, customers are not required by government to me masked up. Besides that point this little blind blue eyed girl didn’t have to be rude to me, she could have politely invited me to take my leave. When I emailed Pravda later that day, no insert followed. This is the Pravda about pravda…

No dressing on the plate, no sauce, no carb or salad or any vegetables.throw a piece of steak like you put in front of animal!
Way too much black pepper on the steak which i didn't even taste the steak itself.paid 150$ for a piece of steak thrown in front of me which had nothing special than the meat i buy from supermarket.
Ordered bread and thought the herb butter would be something better then what i have in my fridge.was not! I wonder what kind of taste buds chef has it.
Service was way too slow, as waitresses was pre occupied to flirting each other while we were waiting for the service.
There is nothing good about this place.feeling ripped of unfortunately and never going back for sure!

Great cafe, bar and restaurant all in one. There's a cute joke about Russian newspapers that goes 'there's no truth in Pravda and no news in Izvestia (Pravda means truth and Izvestia means news.). But here at Pravda there are good newspapers, cocktails, food, coffee and they're all enjoyable. It's not Russian food - but let's be honest, that's a blessing! Great for all meals, a quick break or a long night of cocktails and tale telling. The gorgeous surroundings make you feel like a spy in an old European city with bold Russian wall hangings, high ceilings, big windows and sparkling chandeliers. I'll be the woman in the red coat!
