Sahara Cafe reviews
30Imagine Boris Johnson as a kebab. Would give 0 stars if I could, terrible service, terrible kebab. I had more carrot than kebab and the amount they charge for extras is ridiculous. One dollar for one strand of cheese. They need to sort it out. Worst kebab I’ve had in 10 years.
Wow! That was SO nice! The food was very yummy, as well as being well prepared and presented. And the staff were friendly and very helpful, as well as courteous.
We dined in the restaurant, ordering from the restaurant menu. (I noticed some people buying from the takeaway counter and then eating in the restaurant area).
I ordered the Sahara Grill and Garlic Pita, and my wife ordered Apple Tea, Saroupa Chicken, and Tabouli Salad. They were all very tasty.
The only downside was that we didn't have room for dessert!
And for what is was, the price was reasonable.
We are looking forward to dining here again.
This is a popular kebab joint that also does sit down dinners. I came here for a BYO. Ordered a shish platter of mixed meat, which was cooked adequately.
My gripe: The menu advertised my dish as including “pita bread” and “tomato salsa. This translated to “chopped up pieces of tortilla wrap” (the kind you use to wrap a kebab) and “tomato sauce”. This is pure deception.
Pita bread and tortillas are not interchangeable. Neither are tomato salsa and tomato sauce.
Honestly, the most enraging part of the experience was paying $25+ for the meal, on top of $5 corkage.
I suggest changing your menu to more accurately describe the meals, and to lower the prices to reflect the quality of ingredients used.
Hey guys.you should really check what you're giving to people. I took away chicken salad earlier tonight and the chicken tasted bitter and stale. I can already feel my stomach getting upset. Sheer waste of money.
I first went because I loved the decor. I've gone back twice because I love the Kebabs. One of the top kebab shops in Welly. Worth checking out!
Located at the heart of Wellington City foodies scene, which also boast of having great urban cuisine.
We had a very nice and memorable meal here. Great Iraqi food served, with dates, hummus, char grilled lamb and other typically delicious Middle Eastern fare. The portions were a little bit small, like the interior of this restaurant. Or should I say, cafe & takeaway should be more applicable. But the great tasting food more than made up for the loss, saving the city's reputation.
Nice kebab.not sure the guy at the counter understood me, I wanted lamb but it wasn't on the menu. He said he would put lamb but it was beef as far as I know meats:)
Absolutely the best Turkish meal I've ever experienced; both the food and the experience were absolutely superb. 10/10 would do it again
A friend and I went here for dinner & decided to have dessert. On the menu it says "two for one desserts" for $10. We to come in one dish and two spoons. I said we asked for two desserts, we got a 2nd one. When we went to pay, we were told, it was two desserts in one dish & all there regulars know that. I am NOT a regular, so how was I meant to know that. I will never go back!
Ordered the Quilla which is lamb. Cooked well. But took a little longer than usual. Worth it though.
