Scopa Caffe Cucina reviews
55Great staff. Great pizza and nice prosecco one cannot ask for much more. Scopa is an Icon in Cuba Street
Wasn't impressed with the new menu. Its now more expensive to dine here. Cleanliness could also be improved.
Oct2021: a chance meet up on the street led a group of us here. This place is clean, bright & vibrant. The Hot Chocolate was a hit, as with the tradition coffees.
Don't get a takeaway from Scopa. Poor quality, and a total tipoff. Loved going into the restaurant, but the T/A was like it was from another outfit, or recently changed owners. Lasagne was inedible, pizzas were dry tasteless and mingey.
AVOID!
Generally good but the tiramisu wasn't 100% the time we went. Staff to the feedback and I'd certainly go back in the future
They were very good pizzas, simple flavours but very well accomplished, the dough was great too thin and crunchy. Personal portions though, so would suggest to order 1 p/p.
Thanks!
Amazing hot chocolate but miss the old scopa
Scopa used to be my regular go to but the change in menu, decor and atmosphere has put me off a bit. The music is so loud you can't hear your friends speak as well as removing the padded panels on the walls so that adds to the noise
We had a super time here. We were seated pretty quickly after being seated at the bar. The service was great and attentive. Everyone was pleased with their pizzas, and I think the vodka pizza may be the best I have ever eaten.
Had a spontaneous dinner out tonight with my partner and both of us were treated fantastically by our waiter Lorenzo. Incredible fresh food, super fast service and awesome vibe in the restaurant. Definitely will be coming back! Thanks so much!
Mozzarella sticks were great but pizza lacked a littlest bit of flavor, specially in the cheese. Some basil leaves were not fresh and it was only ~6-7 leaves on their wholesale pizza. Good overall experience, but could be better.
We went to Scopa to celebrate a friends birthday (last Tuesday, 10 of us) and were disgusted to find out that the birthday cake her mum purchased from a separate bakery (the Cube bakery check them out it was amazing!) but scopa charged us $5 a head no matter if you had cake or not (unreal considering Scopa didn't make the cake). This was a cheap way for Scopa to make $50 for placing it in a fridge for half an hour then bringing it to the table. I understand Covid has made it significantly harder for businesses but this was ridiculous when you consider all 10 of us paid for meals and beverages and had spend about $500 as a group already. We came out to support Scopa not be taken advantage of.
The Calamari is delicious.
Both Pizzas we had were superb and traditionally Italian. I asked for extra anchovies and got a very generous addition.
There was a slight mix up on ordering that was dealt with easily and with no questions.
Definitely recommended.
1 star for calamari, but won’t be going back. Our waitress probably had a bad day which is understandable for a busy day but we found hair in our pizza and our “clean” plates had some cheese stuck in them. We told the staff when we paid. The overall experience wasn’t great and quite disappointing
Scopa is just wonderful. I took my partner here for his birthday dinner and we both loved it. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. All round A+ experience, we will definitely be back!
Hot Chocolate with Liquor. Really nice recommended! Staff really friendly, restaurant clean and nice vibe. Local should try and come.
These days Scppa is overrated. The menu is blah and Staff don't know the menu, there's better places around Wellington to eat!
Best service, best pizza and best atmosphere by far! Thanks guys, had an awesome time at Scopa tonight and really enjoyed the vegan options. Definitely coming back again!
Love coming here for either eating in it takeaway. The pizzas are great - but that's a given. Their fried chicken and hot chocolates are to die for! Honestly, both of those are the best that I've had in Wellington
WOW - best Pizza I've had in years, and their fried chicken. YUM! And if you like a cocktail you MUST get their bottled Sicilian margarita - absolutely delicious and they definitely don't scrimp on their shot amounts! I had a wonderful evening here, I was even greeted by the owner who is such an upbeat and positive person, I really enjoyed his energy. I was surprised how well valued the meals are for the quality - I'd expect to pay twice the price for food that good! Oh I also recommend their Kale Caesar salad - very unique but so good! Thanks for an awesome night Scopa!
Food was great, but the service was questionable. Temp seated at the bar, but then forgotten… it was busy (during level 2 alert). Okay that’s fine, but they basically forgot about us. The guy serving us, one minute he’s friendly, tells us about the secret menu item, the next it’s like “can you mind to move your plates”, and then drops the pizza on this tiny bar, somehow not noticing it’s clearly not enough space, and walks away without a word. A table becomes available, so we ask a server, could we have that table, “I’m not sure, ask the guy at the bar”… asp we try to get his attention, but in moments it’s just about to be given to a guy who just walked in? So we say hey can we have that table? “since you’re already eating”, not even “sorry about that”.
I mean I don’t expect to be treated like a prince or anything, but.did I do something wrong? Was I wearing the wrong shoes or something…
I don’t get it.
We ordered an off menu pizza and hot choc
The sign out front says “$15 pizzas”, sounds like a good deal until you realize actually there’s only one pizza that price, the margarita. Classic bait and switch.
Good food, yeah, but the experience is slightly soured.
