Simmer Café

Ordered lunch on Sunday within a group of 5.
For 30 minutes we sat waiting in amongst the previous people's dirty dishes.
Eventually two overcooked chicken paninis arrived with mine missing half of the inside filling.
I rejected my panini and waited a further 15 minutes for another one to be made.
Eventually the remainder of the meals were served, just as some of the group were finishing their meals.
After our meals the staff made no attempt whatsoever to clear the dirty plates and clean the table.
No apology was offered for their slack food and service.

We had breakfast today at Simmer Cafe. The best hot chocolate I ever had. Pulled pork burger, chicken panini and eggs Benedict smoked salmon are all delicious. The ambiance is very relaxing, a nice place to catch up and have a chat with friends. It’s great to have a cafe in the suburb so you don’t have to worry about parking. The food quality here is better than in the CBD anyway. The service is outstanding, it really shows that they love what they’re doing. It’s only my 3rd time here but will be back for sure.

Waited almost 20 minutes for a takeaway coffee only for them to get my order wrong. Instead if offering to remake, I was handed my coffee and told it should be okay even though it wasn’t what I ordered

Not so great for the price of coffee.
Ordered two flat white one with sugar and another without sugar.
They brought two cups and told us they don't know which one is with sugar, you have to try!
Only after we showed grumpy face they offered to make another one.
Table was not cleaned.

Now I am not sure what they did to the coffee they took back, did they try in kitchen and brought it back?

Will not go back again!

The muffin was probably the worst I've tried, and coffee & hot chocolate tasted like hot milk. Otherwise good place.

Reply.no worries, it seemed like it was quite an old one. Maybe I had the odd one out.

We went to Wellington to buy a car. The cafe was recommended by the seller. Awesome coffee and Bacon & Eggs. Highly recommend. AAA+

My regular cafe that I have been going to for years! They know my order when I walk through the door and are super friendly. Yummy food too! We certainly are lucky in Churton Park to have this awesome cafe!

I love Simmer! Consistently great food and service. We've been visiting for around 6 years now and have always had a great experience.

Amazing food and friendly staff. Pizzas were very tasty and doughnuts light and delish. They also stock Foxton Fizz! I'll be back.

Owner and their manager are mean to customers. They have bad attitude to customers. It is only dollors $$ in their eyes instead of service. They should have shutting during their hardest time in covid.

They are the monopoly cafe in Churton Park but we hope there is more competition. As they are rude, we would rather go Tawa cafe with friends.

Ordered our coffees and date scone.
They served the coffees but the scone.
At the end while leaving I advised since the scone did not turn up, could you please refund for the scone.

Bit rude they are completely unapologetic about it while refund.

Good service even though the kitchen has finished by the time we got there. Coffee was just okay had better when we have finished before.

Food and coffee is great and the cinnamon buns are my favourite. Downfall is that I find the staff aren’t the friendliest or well mannered, the guy that’s normally at the front counter doesn’t usually ever bother to say a word to me when I go up to order. I also find that the service is quite slow especially waiting for just a takeaway coffee.

Fabulous brunch visit - our drinks and food were all delivered very quickly, even during a busy Saturday brunch service. Fabulous French toast! Would love to see some sun umbrellas outside as it gets roasting hot under the verandah.

Simmer's a great place as a 2nd office.coffee, great counter food and the donuts.best in town

Simmer is a nice little spot in Churton Park. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available.
Good range of cabinet and menu food, with plenty of variety to suit dietary restrictions.

Rudest owner ever! I was stuck in traffic on my way to work this morning and had to stop over to jump on a meeting. I ordered coffee and sat outside to have my quick half an hour call. I had my breakfast I made before I left home so I took it out to have a few bites as I was feeling nauseous. Anyways the owner came as soon as my coffee was finished and took the cup and the spoon from my muesli. Before I left I asked him why he just took the spoon from my food and tried to explain that I was stuck in traffic and just had to pull over to grab a cup of coffee and jump on a quick call. Yep I know eating my own food was not right but I’ll never set foot back into this cafe again and I hope nobody ever gets treated like I did my the cafes owner. You didn’t even have the decency to hear me out and honestly your behaviour was disgusting. Complete A Hole you were!

Food is very good, however service is a letdown. Server kept walking away from coffee machine rather than focusing and.making two coffees. Attitude lacking.

Had pancakes and coffee this morning. The staff are unable to put sugar in a coffee as requested and the pancake was as dry as crackers. Looked good with stacks of fancy cut apples and squiggly lines of reduction just not appetizing.

Great coffee. Lots of food selection. Good Chickpea salad. Best Doughnuts. Great coffee. Warm customer service
