Thai Lagoon Restaurant

Really good for a small town/suburban restaurant, which is not damning with faint praise - just realistically placing it. It was great! Great staff, good food (very spicy), heaps of vegan options. And the most amazing ceiling lights you ever saw. I'd visit again just to see the lights.

I have eaten there on many occasions and never been disappointed. Their Massaman curry remains up there as one of the best I have ever encountered in any restaurant. I was so impressed with our meal on Saturday it was time to give credit where credit is well due. The entrée Tom Kai soup, which I have tried before, was sensational. A perfect balance of sweet and sour, coconut, subtle lemon grass, mushroom and chicken. My wife and I were supposed to be "sharing" it but it was so delicious the "sharing" became a bit intense and next time we will be forced to have one each to maintain matrimonial bliss. My duck curry was superb with lychees, pineapple and grapes and yet again a perfect balance of flavours. The cashew stir fry had smoky wok flavours and intense, well balanced sauce. Service was very pleasant and attentive and I could not fault the entire experience. It is my go to Thai restaurant for entertaining. It is always consistently good and well worthy of a 5 star rating. BYO is a nice plus too. Very well done team.

Several people we know recommended this restaurant & we are so glad we went. First of all the service was outstanding and second the food was out of this world good. And my partner doesn't usually eat Thai and he loved the food here.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is really pretty & the delivery of food was so quick.

I have a feeling we will be back at this restaurant sometime in the future. We were really impressed and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

OMG. Seriously, this is great Thai food. Completely unexpected. The beef in the masaman curry was melt in the mouth. Spice flavors (fresh) come through in all the dishes we had. Recommended.

Absolutely delicious.we chose Pad Thai, massaman, and green curries, chicken cashew, cuffy puffs, all excellent flavour and freshness.

Great choice for Asian cuisine in the Raumati/Paraparaumu area. Service is good. Food is good. Beer and wine list reasonably priced. If you’re used to Asian food in Asia you can ask for “Thai hot” but I recommend you request extra chopped chilli.

Hands down best restaurant on the Coast. Extraordinary menu, exquisite sauces, fabulous food, wonderful staff, impressive management.

Be adventurous in your choices. While delicious Pad Thai and Nasi Goreng are available try something else and be prepared to be dazzled.
Can't praise them highly enough! And no, I know noone who works there.

We stayed in Raumati for 4 nights and ate here twice.
The food was so good the first time dine in we takeaways another night too!

Absolutely beautiful decor. I'm not good at choosing food off a menu, but there were LOTS of meals that I would like! But – my wife has seafood and egg allergies (with serious and immediate consequences) and all they could come up with was vegetables. With salt. Usually a professional chef can do a little better than that?

But the restaurant was empty and the next customer was seated directly beside us, so the other person's head was approximately 1.5 feet from my head.

Definitely the best Thai food on the Kapiti Coast. It's consistently good food. We've been eating there for a number of years. I tried something new, to me, this week - Tom Yum Fried Rice with pork. Simple and delicious. My usual go to dish is the Satay Special.

I had the Thai sour curry. The sea food was poor quality and over cooked. The broth was not a good taste and my stomach was painful and I was sick the day after. My partner had the Thai beef salad. It was average you can get the same quality for a cheaper price elsewhere. Also our rice portions were very small. I won t be going here again.

* my brother ordered here again. We had a fish dish and the beef salad. As well as a squid noodles and Thai green curry. The fish was still over cooked but the rest was alright. I still think the rice portions are small. *

Ps my brothers food is always bland that's probably why he loves this place

Welcoming staff who allowed you to choose at your own pace. Food was excellent and it was nice to see the menu showed different types of heat other than by one two or three chillies. For the first time saw the words ‘Kiwi hot’ which I found, having lived in SE Asia, to be mildly hot and suitable for Kiwi palates.
Will visit again.

Great food quality. Nice ambiance as well, excellent service. Only missing Mango Sticky Rice on the dessert menu! Recommended.

Really nice food experience. Had the yellow curry and it was SOOO good. Definitely on my list to come back.
