Tripoli Bistro

My family came over to Masterton and wanted me to meet them at Tripoli. But a vaccine passport is required. I won’t be going there EVER.

This was at 11am today, Friday 3rd December. My family texted me to say that I needed a vaccine passport as they were asked to produce theirs.

This was an ok experience.

I had the pulled lamb pizza with tzatziki sauce which was barely evident. 24$

unfortunately this very small serving and not much on it. The bread although was nice, soft and crispy at edges and hand made. However overall it’s just not worth for 24$ as you can see from the picture.price should be more like 12 to 15 $.

Bought 2 risottos for takeaway, 26 dollars each. Small container with very little risotto. Not value for money sorry. A couple weeks earlier bought a Hawaiian pizza for the first time for takeaway and only had 4 tiny pineapple chunks. I try and support local during these times but very disappointed.

The steak had a huge peice of grissole through it, not a good cut at all. Theres better cuts avalible from countdown
The terakihi was tough a and dry. Well over cooked. Just about uneatable really. The waitresses were good and attentive but I wouldnt bother going back. Theres much better options for a good steak in Masterton.

My husband and I have been to the bistro at least four times in the past. Never has the food seemed quite as bland as this time. Has there been a change in the ownership? It is still good food, but it's definitely slipped.

Okay. The pizzas were huge but I didn't really enjoy them. The fish pizza had a very strong smell. The flavours were overwhelming in the other pizzas. Best choice of the table was the Lamb shanks and mash.

The waitress doing dishes was almost throwing the knives and forks into the metal baskets making so much noise we couldn't hear ourselves. The foul language and banter amongst staff was completely inappropriate for dining customers to put up with. The menu is limited unless you like pizza and it doesn't include a lot to cater for those of us with food allergies (even the common ones). Very disappointing. Won't be back.

Waitress was not listening to what was ordered. People do change their minds.when went to pay the order we didn't have was still there!
Food was OK.

Quite a long wait for our meals. My husband loved his pasta but sadly my choice of pancakes left me cold.

Got the kumura croquettes, Greek salad and pumpkin pizza. The croquettes were pretty tasty, the Greek salad was a great side but sadly the pizza was a disappointment. It was dry, the pumpkin undercooked and I wouldn’t rate the base much.

We dined while it was completely booked out so wasnt as relaxing as hoped and we were seated by the door so everytime others walked in & out it was freezing.

Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, awesome beats in the background and good food. What more could you want?

Have just arrived after a trip from upper hutt. This will be our new place.the staff are awsome very friendly and welcoming. The place its self is very cosy, a fabulous day helps. Great start to a 3 day weekend.and the food is fabulous.defo our new place in Masterton

We went for breakfast after checking out of our accommodation. My wife had been previously when visiting with a friend and deemed it worthy of a repeat visit. My wife wanted a light breakfast along the lines of toast or cereal etc. These were not on offer, nor was there anything she fancied in the cabinet. We both had cooked breakfasts. Both were delicious, well presented with generous portions. The bacon was wonderful

Stopped here couple of times now when passing through. Nice people and good coffee.

Coffee rule #16 always go back to where you know is good, coffee is too important to risk.

Nice friendly place to dine with friends. The owner knows alot of customers by name and he ll have a chat with you. Staff do an excellent job also.

Great staff who were friendly and helpful. Great Italian foods, pasta and wine. Lots of people in there - always a good sign. Bit noisy when it was full at 7: 00pm but was better at 8: 00pm when some customers had left.

People if you are looking for authentic Italian food be it takeaway or in-house dining then this is your go to business. Had two very nice, generous sized pasta dishes that had lovely flavours especially the risotto. Definitely recommend.

15 of us had lunch. Very good menu. Service was excellent, we were all served together and the food very good.
