Urban Eatery reviews
58Drove past today and decided to grab a pie on my way through. Purchased the steak and blue cheese pie for something a bit different. Definitely didnt disapoint. Huge pieces of steak and the blue cheese wasnt too over powering. Looked like they also had a great selection of cabinet food too. Had to quickly leave before I spent my fortnightly wages on all the delicious looking donuts in the cabinet
A small cafe with a big heart! The food is fabulous. Not the place to visit if you’re on diet. It’s busy and popular but turnaround is also fast. There’s only a handful of tables to sit in with busy takeaway trade. Parking is free in the street and usually available. Their cinnamon rolls are to die for…and that’s just one feast. Prices are reasonable.
I think I just had the best donut I've had in Wellington ever, the banoffee pie donut. A+ recommend.
Service is a bit off to me. But food has a good taste and a range. Well priced. Can recommend.
Service is quick and pleasant, food good - I had the vegetarian sandwich which was very nice. Everything good.except, please can you fix that noisy fridge! It never stops and is a low level throbbing sound that drives me crazy.
Great atmosphere and lovely staff, a tawa gem. However; $7 for an iced americano is ridiculous. It’s water with a double shot of espresso….:/ should be the same price as just the double shot itself.
Always hop into this cafe when I come past Tawa. The food selection is great and so delicious! Had the gluten-free choc cupcake and their bacon/egg ficelle, both were tasty. Always busy inside for a reason:)
Opened at 7am on the dot, much appreciated. Yummy breakfast sandwich and good coffee - very quick service.
Excellent cafe in Tawa. Great selection of cabinet food, and good options on the menu too. Efficient and friendly service.
Only small downside is there are only about 10 tables inside, and a couple of tables outside. Most tables seating two people, with a high table seating about 6 or 8, so getting a table at lunchtime could be a challenge as the cafe does get quite busy.
Top marks, well worth visiting.
Ive been coming here since it opened beacuse the food is great! However, you need a better system for delivering the food to the CORRECT table. Also dont allow reserved tables. Ive been sitting here for 20mins and in coming customers are looking for a free table, not a good look. Thank you
Simply amazing. If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Tawa this is the place. Everything is really perfect. The seating area, whilst small, has a great atmosphere that is inviting and feels bright and fresh. The custard donut is a personal favourite of mine and is just excellent. All of the sandwiches and cabinet are delicious although you better get in early or else they will sell out! The menu items are great as well. A delicious meal undoubtedly.
Great selection of delicious pies and a wide variety of quality counter food. Serve People's Coffee which is my favourite
Consistently terrible service. Which is a shame as cakes look amazing. Coffee is okay but very slow to come.
Superb staff! Beautiful HUGE selection of sweet food. Many Savoury delights also. Great pricing. Love a real bakery cafe. Thanks. Recommend the Apple spiced Doughnut!
Ordered the savoury waffles and the works burger. Presentation was nice but the waffles were store bought, dry, burnt and too sweet. The cream was over whipped and bacon tasted like it had been sitting under a warmer for too long.
The burger patty also tasted store bought and basic. Fine for a quick bite from the cabinet food but wouldn’t bother ordering off the menu.
A windy Queen's Birthday Monday with most cafes shut, Urban Eatery provided an excellent and generous breakfast with good Havana coffee.
Urban Eggs with halloumi and sourdough in the photo - we'll be back!
Disappointing first visit. Had coffee and Laminton. Nice warm and welcoming place.
But! Coffee was undrinkable and Lamington from the previous week I’d say - was dry and crisp.
Beautiful food. Huge selection. Nice staff. Great prices. Lovely seating. If busy - it's noisy
Lovely cafe in the burbs, everything is made on the premises. I had a Steak cheese pie, which was scrumptious. My friend had a Ginger crunch slice which he also enjoyed. And we both had a Ginger ale each. We will definitely come back
