Verve Cafe reviews
34Made a custom order for lunch, portions were so tiny, pretty average tasting for the cost & was supposed to come with poached eggs but didn't. By the time they came it would have been great to have something to eat with the eggs.sad
We got the hash thing for breakfast and it had a centimetre of oil at the bottom of the plate. Wasn't ideal.
Ordered 1 tea and one coffee. Waitress brought coffee out with her fingers on the rim of the cup. Tea was brought out nearly 10mins after coffee - no smile or apology. It's the little things that people notice!
Typical Wellington (dare I say NZ) Cafe. You pay before you imbibe. Pot luck on coffee quality and no after sales services. Bit of a shambles as a cafe and that probably explains why so many public servants are in booths gossiping and knifing. Good coffee today so went out the get a lottery ticket!
Nice cafe with a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. I had the scrambled eggs on toast which was simple but great; the grain bread tasted like it was made in-house, very nice! Meal also came out extremely quick, less than five minutes wait which is excellent service.
Poached eggs are on point. Scrambled weren't so but that could be just me & my taste buds.kept hitting salt pockets or the alternative pepper pockets. Butter packets were that soft, one was just liquid. Atmosphere & staff were great. Shame about the waffle machine being broken. Was looking forward to the corn waffles.maybe another day.
Delicious food with a great selection. Loved the look of all the cabinet food and my chicken pesto croissant was so good.
Had the Works breakfast (both of us) and best/tastiest breakfast we have ever had in 15 years in NZ. Good service and coffee too. Definitely worth a visit.
A great Eggs Benedict for a quick breakfast. The food is much better than the environment and some staff when we visited seemed half asleep. The Mango turmeric smoothie was nice but a bit of an acquired texture.
Great atmosphere, great coffee top notch service. Love the Irish waitress Nicole always friendly and helpful.
The vegan cake I had was horrible. Tasted funny once heated up. Super dry as well. The staff were nice
Have been to this cafe twice in the last week. Enjoyed food both times. Excellent service. Good basic menu. Even though they were quite busy, meal came out very quickly. Good for people in a hurry. Atmosphere is very welcoming. Very pleasant staff. Definately would go back.
Food was really good, had eggs bene and kitchen team smashed it out of the park. One of the front of house team was a little frosty at a relish request to go with a side of sausages though. Not sure why.
Friendly staff, but system was odd and they forgot my coffee. When I got it, the coffee was good.
My favourite cafe serving excellent coffee to start the day and good value breakfasts. Good place to meet if you want to be heard. Has many loyal customers which says a lot about the friendly staff and quality of food and beverages. The decor is a bit tired but don't let that put you off.
This cafe is way bigger than it looks from the street. Friendly staff and good wholesome meals. I had the vege breakfast and it was delicious.
But why would any establishment serve latte in anything other than a cup with a handle? Trying to pick up a glass with hot liquid in it makes no sense
Excellent location for lunch. Good selection of food and coffee. The burger was excellent and the seafood chowder very creamy and tasty. The buttered and toasted bread stick was a nice addition.
Spacious inner city cafe located just off Lambton Quay in Wellington's CBD. The cafe has a relaxed and refined atmosphere. They provided good food and drink options. The food is more on the expensive side, but not surprisingly so, given the location. The service was good. I would recommend to others and would be happy to go there again.
