Used to be good (Rupert was friendly and easy to work with) but the (new?) assistant who is there on Fri and Sat is downright rude and has terrible customer service. Not how you treat a customer who has spent serious $ here before.

One of the worst customer service in town.
If you are shopping in the Lower Hutt branch, be ready to get ripped off.
All prices are +45% over recommended retail.

Despite the other positive reviews on here, I unfortunately found the staff flippant and condescending towards servicing my tripod. I had previously visited about a lens repair which they said they could do over the phone but in person they fobbed me off. I decided to give them another go with my tripod and was disappointed. They joked about selling my tripod if I didn't come back to pick it up which I found unprofessional. I ended up walking out and ordering the parts and doing the repair myself.

The pits Wellington photographic suppliers have had my cameras for 3 weeks to quote foe service and repair no contact NEVER reply emails or phone messages. Give me back my cameras you absolute crooks. Next stop fair go and the consumers institute. NEVER USE WPS THEY SUCK

One of the reviews refers to a Jekyll and Hyde experience. That sums this place up. Last month I got someone friendly and helpful. Today I struck an assistant who was patronising and dismissive.

Purchased a camera there to find it wasn't working due to needing a software update. It's been almost a month and no camera. WPS has been dismissive. Sad because I've used the processing services for years successfully.

The people in the store are nice
Service was prompt, sizeable job completed next day for me as I was heading out of town.
But
Scans are all upside down
Like.
Come on guys that's pretty frustrating. I want to post these online and I have to manually rotate each image before I can even look at them properly and decide which ones I want to showcase, and with a number of rolls to go through I'm sure you can appreciate how time consuming that is.
Also the scans are significantly lower quality than the scans I usually get for a cheaper price in Sydney, and that's with the "standard" option
Considering I paid a lot of money for this I wish I had've waited until I was back in Sydney to receive a superior product

One of the best retail experiences I've had in recent memory. The guy that served me was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to help me figure out what I wanted after being out of the photography game for a few years.

UPDATE: knocked stars off because I came here at 5: 55 to pick up film, and the doors were locked at the guy inside saw me but flat out ignored me. So hit and miss, I guess

Had such a bad experience yesterday in this shop. The reason i have been there because of last time visit which made me go there again. Fantastic customer service. But this time can't believe i had to prove my point to the guy (Dan) that i have spoken to someone in the morning in regards to the prices they will charge me if i have a passport photo taken for my newborn. The guy clearly mentioned me the price. When i asked the guy who was taking the picture he told me a different price and charging more for that. I have metioned him several times that i did call in the morning and showed him the number and they told me this price but he was in complete denial and getting very rude. He just told me that he doesn't want to deal with me. Then he spoke to the other staff who mentioned him that he is the one who spoke to me about the prices.
I was just waiting for him that may be he Will apologize to me now but this guy have such an attitude that it doesn't bother him at all.
The guy who served me later, JACOB, highly appreciate his service as he seems like more of a professional.
I will definitely recommend this place but please if you find that this guy is dealing with you in the same manner please avoid and ask for different staff, as i know most of their staff are good.
Then only reason still giving 4 stars because of the other guy who served me after him.

Very knowledgeable guys and willing to share. I could have taken their information and shopped online for better prices, but firstly it feels dirty! Secondly, I think you've got to value this service, as online stores couldn't have given me the advice I needed and got.
So without WPS I would have got a good price for things that I didn't need and had to wait for!
So a no-brainer decision in the end.

In Wellington from the UK with friends, one of whom had forgotten their battery charger for an important event. Recommended to go here by a local professional photographer as “they have everything” - which indeed they appear to do! Huge shop with extensive stock.

Great professional service - sorted out in no time! Not the friendliest customer service but got the job done.

Excellent customer service from the people I have dealt with recently, the younger guy is really helpful without being condescending. The scan and print service is high quality also. There is also parking down the back of the building for a couple of cars and a rear entrance.

This is the best bet of you getting a camera lens, tripod, batteries, any other accessories or gear for your kit! And the third part of the inventory doesn't update very quickly.

I did try to pick up a rode mic from them however it was out of stock and wasn't going to be back for a month!
They don't have most of GoPro stuff but will do have the popular camera gimbals and other camera gear stuff.check them out or better give them a call before you actually go to the shop and check if they are holding an inventory for what you're looking for!

Experienced staff, always willing to help. Not much by way of stock these days which is understandable in the days of online.

Had 3 images merged into one and the team were very considerate in taking quality care of my original images and producing samples prior to sending through the final image of high specs for a memorial. Will 100% be using them again in the future.

Highly recommend these guys' knowledge and services. I had some photographic work, in poor condition, expertly restored for a commercial framing project. I'm am Mana Picture Framing and the quality of my finished product needs to be the best. The images below are from the original frame, to the newly presented frame. The photo bares no resemblance to the newly restored photo. Very happy.

Staff were very knowledgeable and keen to help - didn't make me feel ignorant because I'd forgotten much of what I used to know. Expensive to get our old manual camera serviced and repaired, but that's standard with expert services for a fading technology. Down to earth realistic advice, and all the peripheral gear we needed in stock. Definitely recommend - but save up first.

They're always helpful. They know their products. And help solve photographic problems that arise.
