The best B&B of our entire trip in New Zealand. Spacious and clean room with an amazing view of the ocean. Beautiful garden from which you can reach the beach. At low tide it is very nice to walk over the dry rocks and see the mussels. Very good breakfast with various choices such as a delicious eggs benedict with smoked salmon. The host Jan is very friendly and provides good tips for (short) walks in the area. Even on the day of departure we received tips for our route to the Abel Tasman National Park. Unfortunately we were only in this paradise for 2 days, we would have liked to stay another day longer.

Our stay at Breakers was amazing! Stephen and Jan were the best hosts. They provided us with recommendations for our driving to and from the area, cooked us such a nice homemade breakfast in their home, and made for such a comfortable nights stay along our roadtrip. The homes sit right on the beachfront with an incredible view. Highly recommend this stop - we also visited some of the breweries in town and saw some awesome sights nearby.

We had a great stay at Breakers Boutique. The location and views over the beach and rolling surf are stunning. Our room was large and very comfortable, with excellent facilities. Breakers host Jan is most welcoming and very keen to share her detailed knowledge of the local area. This made our journey to and from Breakers a much enhanced experience.
I highly recommend Breakers Boutique for a warm welcome, very comfortable stay in a fabulous location.

A warm welcome from Jan at Breakers Boutique where we stayed a night. A comfortable place to relax in and their beach has the most driftwood we’ve ever seen!

Right from the initial booking I knew that this would be a special place to stay. It started with the wonderful website showing only a smidgen of the wonderful accommodation, scenic beauty and incredible hosting by Jan and her husband. It then continued to a wonderful follow up email from Jan giving wonderful ideas for off the grid experiences and places to visit before and after our stay. Wow that is service extraordinaire! Once there we were in complete awe of the striking natural beauty that envelopes this charming and comfortable BnB. They have worked hard to provide an exceptional experience. Don’t miss it if you are anywhere near, it is well worth it. Thank you Jan for your lovely hospitality!

We just came back to Italy from our honeymoon in New Zealand where me and my wife Roberta spent one night in this wonderful Breakers Boutique Accomodations. The position and the place were just amazing with a magnificent garden from which we had a spectacular view of the sea. Our room was lovely, clean with a wide terrace and our host Jan has been extremely nice and friendly providing us everything we needed. She gave us some very useful tips as well about the best places to stop on our journey down along the West Coast, we couldn't be more grateful to her for that. It truly is a small piece of paradise on earth and we really wish we could've stayed longer.hope we'll have a chance in the future to come back one day in this beautiful place.

We stayed only one night and it was better than missing that gem. We were not even there that Jan got in touch with us with a very personal note giving up tips to discover the west coast the best way possible. She knows and loves the region so much that I am glad we follow all her recommandation! We arrived at the breakers feeling like we were visiting an old friend. And what an arrival, the place is breathtaking, the rooms are warm and so confortable, the food is super yummy and generous. The view, the beach… just make sure you have time to enjoy the place, spend a moment with Jan because place like this where your host care and share with you all those local tips are just disappearing quickly. This place was the highlight of our stay and I am not just recommending it for couple, but for single travelling or family I loved it and just want to go back. Thank you Jan for your heart generosity, your place and yourself are an ambassador of the west coast.

We did the West Coast Wilderness Trail with Breakers in early May and had an amazing time - great advice, delicious breakfast and lunch, and the car transfers worked out perfectly every time. Our room was beautiful, stunning views. Just can't recommend both the trail and Breakers highly enough.

We stayed for one night as our pre trip departure for the transzalpine train from Greymouth, we fell in love with Breakers Boutique. Jan is an amazing host, goes the extra mile for her guests. She shared some amazing stories with fascinating history of the area whilst having breakfast. A warm welcome with a beautiful home cooked pizza and wine with a great variety options for breakfast the following morning.
Prime location with the most incredible sunsets. The Sunset Suite was very spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed including an amazing view.
We will definitely be back for another magic long weekend and highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Breakers. The location is magical and truly captures the best of the Westcoast with great views and a secluded beach. Jan and Stephen are like reconnecting with old friends and have a passion for sharing their corner of the world. The room was amazing and the sunset from the deck was so special. We had a great breakfast in the morning and set out to explore the area. We will be back and would recommend it to all.

I love to travel and moved to NZ about 14 years ago. I've been fortunate to visit and stay in many places over the years. The Breakers may be the best I've experienced in NZ. The location is stunning, the property is very special, and the accomodation was so comfortable. Local art in our room made it even more special. We enjoyed a two day stay just after New Year's Day to relax and unwind. There couldn't have been a better place for our break. Jan is an incredible host, full of local knowledge and with such a lovely way about her that the guests just feel at home. Breakfast was delicious and served in the dining area with another great view. (Jan even provided me with gluten-free toast on request.) We also really enjoyed the chance to chat with other guests. An added bonus is that we could order a homemade pizza after one long day. This was brought to us by Jan on our veranda one evening. My partner and I both agreed that we'll return for another stay, and I feel that Breakers will make a great solo 'retreat' escape for me in the future as well.

We decided to treat ourselves after our Paparoa Track walk and we found the most amazing bed and breakfast just south of Punakaiki.
This is a “ must stay “ on the West Coast
It has the most incredible views out over the Tasman Sea from your room or the spa pool!
The beach in front is dramatic with a waterfall cascading down on to it.
Jan was Wonderful host and provided great home cooking!
Yes I am raving but if you’re heading that way … stay! It will be worth it!

After spending two days here at Breakers Boutique Accomodation earlier in the year, I knew I would return. The setting of Breakers on the West Coast is beyond beautiful, but that is not the only thing that drew me back. Jan and Stephen Roberts are the two most amazing hosts that I have had the pleasure of staying with and I have travelled extensively throughout New Zealand and overseas. You are made to feel at home instantly, and any questions or enquiries about the area or places you wish to visit are answered with such knowledge as they are both locals. But it doesnt end there, they will take you, explain to you, and for a photographer like myself this was a unique oportunity to visit and capture off the grid and off the beaten path adventures. They will cater to your food needs and the breakfast choices and quality is top star quality.
Waking up and going to sleep with views over the coast of sunrises and sunsets is astounding, the quiet and peace, and absolute luxury of the rooms simply leaves you in awe.

We had the most amazing stay. Arrived to a wild west coast storm with thunder and lightning, as we were beautifully entertained by the warmth of a cosy fire and extremely welcoming hosts. The sound of the waves crashing in was quite spectacular. The Breakers really has the WOW factor. Stunning.

We ended up here at the last minute when prior accommodation fell through the day before we were due to arrive. Jan was an amazing hostess and was very accommodating for us seeing as we weren't really her regular type of guests. (here for a sporting event not really relaxing and sightseeing). Her pizza was superb, breakfast was delicious, views were stunning. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
