Glacier Country Helicopters

Great experience with these guys. Although we didn't get to land on the glacier as planned, due to weather, the team were very helpful and tried their best to get us a good trip.

This was a beautiful way to experience both Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. The weather conditions prevented us from landing on one but we had a great long look as we flew over. It was a very smooth journey and almost felt like we were floating. The pilot and people helping were great. I appreciated that they took the time to take a photo for us after.

Note, while the activity in itself is amazing. This is highly weather dependent. So be prepared for eventualities like cancellation and weather based plan changes.however the company is really helpful in case you do not want to opt for the alternatives and prefer to cancel. They issue full refund in such cases.

Ultimate discovery - 45 min scenic glacier flight: We loved it! Felt safe every second. The flight took us over Franz Josef glacier, Fox glacier, passing Mount Cook, and also over Tasman glacier. We also did a snow landing. There we had plenty of time to make some nice pictures. It was our first time in a helicopter and again, we loved it. Made my girlfriend cry even (really). Thanks guys!

What a trip. Booked in for a later flight and weather started to turn so they got us onto an earlier flight, very accommodating. Dion our pilot was very good and flew us up close to see the glaciers. Would defo recommend these guys…

With my partner today we had a helicopter experience on the Franz Josef glacier with a 10-minute landing on snow with the Glacier Country Helicopters company.we found all the people in this company surprising and super pleasant and extremely professional. We loved it and the only problem is that 25 minutes goes by extremely quickly I would have liked it to last longer thank you to you Glacier Country Helicopter for this great experience.

The team are friendly, fun and professional.
My original flight was cancelled due to bad weather, but they went over and above to get me on the 1st flight the following day before leaving Frans Joseph.
Definitely recommend doing this tour.

Unfortunately the whole experience was dampened when the pilot refused to shake my hand after I said “no thank you” to a $20 tourist photo card. The office staff are lovely. The experience itself is great. But there’s no excuse for being snubbed after paying $800.

The Glacier Country team helped my wife and I achieve a bucket list experience that we will never forget. The service was amazing from start to finish and we would highly recommend the team to anyone.

Great experience and a must do. A convenient, and the best way to see the glaciers in only 25 mins

Crass and selfish. No doubt soon to be illegal.

It might be the only “safe” way onto the glacier, but then perhaps we shouldn’t go onto the glacier at all.

I’ve no doubt that the team are hard working professionals, but please don’t spend your money on burning fossil fuels to melt the glacier even faster - you know better.

(P.s. I haven't been to Antarctica - my review there was just for fun.)

We used Gus from Glacier County Helicopters to put a 5 day Tahr hunting trip together for us, it was the best 5 days we have ever had thank you very much Gus, Poppy and crew you are super stars

Overall a good experience, could have been better if we knew how much it was going to be? We originally got told $295 then when we got there it was $395 due to the fact we had to land somewhere different.we only got told last minute when we arrived. I haven’t even had a coffee due to the fact we had to arrived 15 mins earlier and still decided to do it. Had a bitter taste to my mouth now that it’s a few hours after. I would say make sure u do your research before hand there’s a few different companies around town that does the same thing and possibly book another one? The glacier was beautiful but another company would have been more honest
