Stopped here to have lunch on our holiday but it was closed. Bit of a shame to do that in the holidays

Checked out the cafe online at Murchison didn’t mention that it was temporarily closed until we were close to Springs Junction the cafe apparently has been closed since October. So much for breakfast on Tuesday

Food was average, coffee was fine but the place is pretty run down and the fella serving didn't want to be there.
It was a miserable day made more so.

Wouldn't go back. 2 pies left at 12
30pm only did takeaways, we wanted coffee's too and a sit down. Not the same as used to be. Used to be awesome with awesome food and awesome staff, and very busy.

Wow!
I haven’t stopped here for 20 years!
Because it still looks the old worn out cafe from the road….
Then as a friend pulled over & I followed…. What a superb food layout indoors.
Seal of approval with the awesome eatables. Great pies.
BUT
maybe to start by giving the building a clean fresh welcoming Càfe paint job on the outside would entice traffic to stop and explore within. I’m guessing most would not even know it’s there…

Possibly under new ownership, food excellent and reasonably priced (unlike prevous ownership) pleasant friendly owner. Interior still could do with an upgrade. Worth a stop now.

Friendly staff and good food. The only issue I have is why we have to go one in, one out. A few times I've decided the wait isn't worth it and gone somewhere else for my coffee. It's a shame because you're missing out on business.

A handy location if you're travelling over Lewis Pass to fuel up, get some refreshments. Not a lot in the way of grocery items. Unfortunately they had been broken into the previous night I believe, so luck to then in getting back to rights

I wasn't really sure what to expect but the food was really good, the coffee was superb and the staff were really friendly. I would definitely stop there again.

Stopped here on our way to Christchurch, expecting to buy a sandwich or a pie. Ended up buying some fried chicken, made in store! The chicken was delicious although the dining area and food service are could have been a bit cleaner.

This place was closed on a Saturday we were there, what a shame, bring back the food/coffee shops that are open on the weekends, disappointed

Really run down. Unfortunately its apparent COVID hasn't helped with restricted seating and shortage of supplied/range of food.
Looks like there hasn't been any investment into the building or business for a number of years. With all the seating inside blocked off, our family had to sit outside with all the sand flies/bees - horrible experience

Very friendly staff. Would definitely stop here again on my way through. Basic menu but nice food

Very sad that a rest stop cafe on the state highway would only let one person in at a time and won't let you sit. Raining outside and needed a break. With a vaccine pass still only one at a time. A road safety issue when the only stop within a few hours is here. Disappointed.

Coffee stop only, so can't comment on food, but coffee is below par. Need to invest in barista training, change brand of beans, or both.

Exllent wee place. For someone that was by there self they were really running it well. Perhaps the owners could help assist when it's just one person on.

Quite nice food actually.but so didn't like having to use the plastic plates, forks and knives (all that waste in the landfill!) We couldn't order a pot of tea, it had to be single cup, served in a disposable cup. Don’t accept cash either apparently all because of covid?

Has become a wee bit run down. Probably brought about because of covid. Served by a very pleasant young man. Bless him.

Very sad these days.
Not much on offer.
Young man in shop friendly and willing to serve.
