Stopforths Motel

I'll give a 6 out of 5 for our stay here. Sonja went above and beyond to accommodate us when we were totally let down by another provider.
The rooms were more than what we were hoping for, Sonja and the cleaning staff were obviously happy to make our stay memorable.

Stayed for 3 nights. Very clean, comfortable with a great kitchen, dishwasher was a bonus. So close to town. Very friendly owner operators.
Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful place to stay in Hokitika. The place has very modern upgrades and lots of extras. Sonia was on hand to greet us and provide some good recommendations for the area.

Wished we stayed for a few more nights! The motel has been updated with modern finishings. The bed was very comfortable and rooms were spacious. There is a laundry facility on site and a kitchen in the room. The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable for work. We would love to come back again! Thank you for the hospitality.

We had a fabulous stay, extremely comfy bed, fantastic bathroom and modern in-room amenities.couldn’t ask for more. It’s the best hotel I’ve stayed in this NZ trip. Thanks to the superb and friendly owners.

High quality rooms, chattels and service although no Sky TV. Owned by a charismatic couple and would certainly stay again. Close to town (Hokitika) and the Pioneer hotel a place to meet locals and dine. Orange roughy recommended.

From the moment we stepped on site we knew our stay would be exceptional. Our unit was superior, appointed with all we required. We were very handy to town, walk ways and especially the local pub (Pioneer Hotel) which was recommended … a mere two minute flat walk away. Superb in every way, quiet location, ample parking with great access.

Incredible place. Taking standard motel living and elevating it to the highest tier. Every detail has been thought of to cater to the thoughtful and environmentally conscious traveler. Super clean, friendly owners, kitchenette, incredible showers! If I could stay at a place like this everywhere I go, that would be lovely.

Family run hotel with very friendly hosts. Kitchen utensils are very complete, you can cook some simple food. The shower is powerful and hot. The room was clean and tidy. The furniture in the room is carefully selected and of good quality. My son and I are from Shanghai. We have traveled many places. This hotel is a hotel that we think is very high-quality. Hope to stay a few more nights next time.

Sonja & Philip are amazing hosts. Their attention to the finer details stands out.
Lovely, modern (heated towel rail, split system, dishwasher etc), clean, quiet, spacious rooms.

Gave it an 8/10 score review because there was people smoking outside room and there was coffee still in percolator. Owner sent me a nasty email and text telling me how dare I leave a bad review. Over all was nice but cleaning was let down. So this is a review and a warning to anyone else leaving a bad review she will be coming looking for you if you do.

One of the best in NZ so far. Great location - just away from the main road so less noise, but still in town to walk to restaurants and shops.
The rooms are very modern with plenty of room to spread out.

A great place to stay. Excellent quality rooms with nice toiletries and tea and coffee etc. The owners made us very welcome and it is excellent value for money. All in all, top notch.

A lovely and clean motel, in an excellent location, run by fun and friendly people, who are also knowledgeable with the area. I enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be back.

What a wonderful place to stay! The room was comfy. We had 2 great nights sleep. The highlight for this place is the owners who are very gernerous. We will definately stay here again when we come for a road trip next time.

Where do I start? Best customer service ever! Picked up, dropped off at airport with a free tour of the town, it rained (only one of the 3 days lol) and the hosts offered to transport us to town/events that day. Early check in, late check out, nothings a bother. Great location, warm, safe, clean, modern, really impressed with the earth friendly toiletries and cute milk bottles. Enjoyed all the chats with both Phil and Sonja. We will be back! Thank you!

Such a lovely surprise having the name motel. We found nothing but the very best. Everything was catered for. The position of the motel made it a very easy stroll to town.
Usually I stay in hotels but my granddaughters booked this and we were not disappointed in anyway. The spa bath was just perfect after a lot of walking and exploring each day.
Well done to the owners who made our stay just perfect 10/10 we say.
