Surf Fevah reviews
43Surf Fevah in Westport had a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere. My friend rented a board and the owner, Carg, made sure to tell West-Coast newbies like us where to surf in the local break. Its always intimidating going out in new surf breaks and Carg made us feel well prepared and confident going out. I will definitely be returning
If you want to go surfing in westport this is the place to go!
Carg is a super friendly legend who will tell you everything you need to know!
The gear is top notch too!
Make sure to stroll trough the shop there is plenty of cool stuff:)
Thanks for your kindness Carg!
Rented out a board when I visited Westport for a surf trip. The owner, Carg, was extremely friendly, knowledgable, and made sure our group had all the information about the local breaks and conditions that we needed to succeed. We'll be definitely be returning for all of our surfing needs the next time we're on the West Coast.
I stopped there for a night and came to this shop to hire a board/wetsuit and try the local surf for a couple of hours. The shop owner was really friendly and gave me some excellent tips regarding the local surf spots. He even wrote a sketch of the spot he recommended, where the rocks were, where to paddle in and what to expect. I've had much less from surf guides! I ended up having a fantastic session and a great memory from Westport.
Went in for bumper stickers and left with positive vibes and tips on the area. Thanks, wish we could have popped by on our return journey but it was early morn. Next time!
The shop owner, Carg, is a legend, very nice and friendly guy.
He told me where to go surfing, camping spot for the camper van and hot showers!
I recommend popping in the shop and have a chat with him if you are interested in surfing the area.
Did a brilliant job sorting and sizing all the surf gear for my kids.
Has the most helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Definitely my new favourite surf shop.
Awesome customer experience and a wealth of surf knowledge. Thanks so much for all the tips, they are improving my surf a lot. See you next time
Best customer service ever.
I am so glad I shopped locally here, beautiful gear and beautiful service
We'll be back for sure.
Oh man. If you’re even thinking of putting your feet in the water on the West Coast, go see this legend.
My first surf experience was great and I would totally recommend surf fevah and Westport to all the other backpackers and tourists. Although we went surfing in the middle of winter, we had such a good time and enjoyed the sea for several hours. Carg was super fun to be with and thanks to him we caught a few waves and survived the "washing machine". If you want to have fun and learn something new, you should go there. We have been just a group of three and decided to try surfing spontaneously, no regrets!
I took my first ever surf lesson with Surf Fevah in March. It was a great experience and an absolutely beautiful day. Definitely one of my best NZ memories and one of the best things I could have done shortly before the lockdown. Cargs was super helpful when I walked into his shop spontaneously and made sure we picked a day with good conditions. During the lesson he was very encouraging and made me feel really safe and confident all along. Probably one of the best places to learn surfing in NZ, I can absolutely recommend it!
Best surf lesson today! If you’re thinking about surfing at Westport I can highly recommend Cargs! The groups are quite small (it was just me and my friend) so he takes a lot of time to help you improve yourself individually. Thank you so much for this awesome day, Cargs!:)
First surf lesson today with co-owner Brent C. Absolute stunning winter morning with perfect learner waves at Westport's Tip head. Brent was a great teacher, patient, gave lots of encouragement and gave us a very good grounding on how to read the waves and the basics. Definately reccomend taking a lesson with him if you're new to surfing. Check out the shop too. Lots of great winter and summer surf fashion and jewellery. Gem of a find in Westport.
We ran into this store and got the best local surfing recommendations! Must visit when you want to surf in Westport!
I just had the first and best surf lesson that I could ever have: -D just called spontaneus and had such a nice telephone talk and half an hour later, I stood on the board and got a super surf crash course (I didn't have the time for a full course as my baby daughter needed me). No big groups, just us in a familiar atmosphere, plenty of helpful tipps and helping hands to catch the right wave in the right way at the right time. I am so happy and thankful that I found you guys by chance! If we wouldn't have to keep on traveling today we'd stay longer in westport and meet some more waves! Good luck for your legs, your daughters competition and greetz to your wife! It was a pleasure: -D
Craig is a very wellcoming guy offering great surf lessons for beginners and intermediates and rents out perfect boards. I can recommend to everyone to just pop by in his store at the main road! We had a great time ;)
I have rent a really good board for a good price. It's a friendly team with a very good state of mind. And i took one of my best wave with the board with dolphins et seals ️
Can’t thank you enough for providing the local insight and surfboards/wetsuits for a ripper day in Westport! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - you made our trip to NZ 10x better. Cheers mate! Jack & Tom:)
Annie and Cargs are two incredible humans. The surf shop is awesome and the 1: 1 lesson I had with Cargs was unforgettable. I know I'll be back with my own kids someday.
