Baduzzi reviews
76Everything we ate at Baduzzi was delicious. I chose a pasta with duck and porcini ragu - definitely too good to share! I did have 'pudding envy' as our companions chose torta di riso and we had a torta with chocolate and raspberry sorbet. The service was friendly and professional. A lovely restaurant for a long lunch - or dinner.
We visited the restaurant for a friend's birthday and asked if the August Restaurant month deal was available, they reluctantly gave us the set menu and stated the whole table of 8 had to order it. No offer for dietary requirements. My main chicken dish arrived and it was under cooked with pink juices and meat. I asked for another one, they said it would take too long and offered me my original chicken back after it had been microwaved. I couldn't eat it! So disappointed! I will never dine there again or refer it to friends.
Service was good! Very attentive, had the set menu (pescatarian) as our friend could not eat meat and it was very good! The fish was amazing and dessert was so good too!
Unfortunately we found the food wasn't good, meatballs had a funny texture and the duck pasta wasn't my favorite, the desert however was delicious. The place was very busy to clearly many people like it but not my cup of tea.
We were really impressed how Baduzzi catered for vegan and vegetarian requirements, the food was really tasty and interesting and refreshing to order off a menu created for such requirements. Would definitely recommend:)
Baduzzi isn’t one of those “Oregano-and-cheese-all-you-can-eat” restaurants. If you’re looking for a meal that leans towards quantity rather than quality you best dine else where. If. However, you’re keen to let your tastebuds do the walking and experience orchestrated layers of flavour and some fine winey, well then pull up a chair.
To be honest, thing didn’t get off to a great start. At the price point Baduzzi pitch their menu at, I was a little upset to have to pick bits of the last patrons meal out of my menu, with the residual fat stains that persisted. Thankfully it was quickly replaced and we could start afresh. She picked the Wood fired, wild caught king prawns with pancetta & gremolata picante. The char note on the prawns was exceptional, the gremolata played its part and the combination was superb. Being a meat lover I went for the lamb meatballs and was rewarded with texture finesse.
On to the mains and I opted for the duck pasta while she went for the tortellini. The duck was rich and unctuous. I could imagine the hours needed to make the stock. The Tortellini delivered layers of chevron, citrus, butter and fig.
We were tempted to try the Tiramisu. The presentation was spectacular, but the finish fell a little flat with no hint of coffee liquor or espresso in the base. So close!
Memorable, great service and two glasses of exceptional Puglia red. We’ll be back.
Best meat balls. Tastey food. Great Service.
Not as pricey as I thought it would be even with Desert and Drinks. Very reasonable.
Very nice food but very, very expensive for what it is. Happy to pay a premium but this just seemed to be over the top. Also, not an ideal place in winter, was really cold
Been here many times, and it never fails to disappoint! Delicious food, and they do a great job at catering for people with different allergies and needs- they have dedicated gluten free, vegan, and allium free menus. Would absolutely recommend for a lovely night out for those of us with dietary requirements!
Celebrated a 21dt birthday with family. The food was delicious. Had cocktails-pepenero & roseveil. Meatballs were melt-in- you-r mouth lamb & crayfish. Yummy mushrooms and truffle gnocchi, pasta with pecorino cheese and truffles and tender lamb rump with gnocchi.
Everybody talks about the meatballs and they are worthy of the accolades. Great service, an overall wonderful, brief experience. They met our deadline of making a show at ASB theatre.
Great goto restaurant. Not 5 star food, but a great visit and food is still up there. Great to simply turn up and get a good feed
BEST RESTAURANT IN TOWN.gf and I went and peak time and where in and out in two hours and when we ordered four courses it was worth it the mash potatoes were like butter with the stake and lamb where are top picks of the night the crayfish meatballs were also up there to one of the best things I have ever tasted
Made a reservation for Sunday lunch. Service was very slow (they were clearly understaffed). We tried the piadina, gnocchi, vegetarian polpette, and the tortellini. Followed by cannoli and rice pudding. Food was tasty. Portions were small, prices were BIG. I mean $8.50 for a slice of filled eggplant and $13.50 for a cannoli. Good as a one off, but we wouldn't return.
Great food and service. We were impressed with Jackson. His knowledge and professional service made for a very enjoyable evening.
Very disappointing experience. Went for a meal for a friend's birthday, as this place came highly recommended. We ordered a range of meatballs as a starter. While the venison meatballs were quite tasty and well cooked, the lamb and beef ones were not great. They were very soft and did not have an enjoyable texture. Two of our group ordered a medium rare scotch fillet, and while my friends came out cooked medium rare, mine was blue. Disappointing, as this came out pre cut, so not sure how it wasn't spotted. Had it taken back only for the same steak to be brought back out, now cooked medium rare, but without the mushrooms that had been on the plate initially, so had to ask for them to bring the mushrooms out on a separate plate. When asked how everything was when settling the bill, we informed the girl taking the payment, of our experience and that we would have appreciated having a new steak made instead of the old one cooked again. Her answer to this was that it would have taken longer. While I can understand this, I feel like this option should have been offered, especially at a restaurant of this calibre. I did appreciate our waitress organising a small cake for our friend for their birthday but overall I can't recommend this place based on my experience.
Baduzzi is consistently brilliant! Great food and service, wonderful atmosphere. Easily one of our favourite restaurants in Auckland.
My partner and I have dined all over the planet and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had. From the last minute agility to seat us on short notice to the passion that the service and owners exude right on to the best part of all being the meal itself. Rarely does everything come together so perfectly but tonight was just that; perfection.
A warm friendly waitress found us a table and chatted enthusiastically about the menu despite the pressure she must have been under in a packed restaurant. We both chose steak, garnish and mash. The tenderness, taste and flavour of the meat were delicious! The atmosphere is lively without being too noisy so you can still chat
One of the best Italian restaurants we ve been to.
Great food, atmosphere and service.
If you are a fan of and love meatballs, don’t go
anywhere else.our favorite is the crayfish meatballs.
5 stars to the team at baduzzi.
