Have not been here, but our company does get catered food delivered from here once a week. And I've had more hits than misses. Looking forward to dining in sometime soon

To be honest, I like the environment more than the food~lol…. My friend highly recommended this place, it’s quite nice! 5 star service

Sourdough with whipped feta, ceviche, meatballs (photo attached) and lamb gnocchi, all perfect. Followed by dark chocolate mousse.
Menu must change quite regularly which is nice also.

One the best Spanish food that I have had. Everything exceeded my expectation and the service was one of the best we had in NZ. Really nice place and a really nice environment. Lots of parking near the restaurant as well.

I love this restaurant. The freshness of the ceviche and the empanadas are so amazing. It's the only spot in town that does some central/south american things with the spanish in a proper way. The only reason it's not a 5 is that I always have issues with service but I know that there are a lot of problems now with staffing so always chock it up to that (no waters, slow service). When those things are ironed out it would be perfect and if you go knowing and cut some slack that you will have a great time. Order everything!

Second time at Barulho and once again it delivered on taste, service and atmosphere!
Such a tasty menu, everything we had was fantastic. The civeche was fresh, the beef empanadas were amazing, the breads and goat cheese.fantastic! If you haven't been to Barulho then this is a "must do" dining experience.
I almost forgot about the dark chocolate orange mousse dessert mmmm, mmmm, mmmm!

We’ve moved in to Parnell and we live closeby to Barulho. Lovely food! We had empanadas, burrata, seafood paella and churros.

A few comments to consider:
Seafood paella portion is too small to be called “shared” for $44. This is more of a solo paella. Would be great to put more rice as well.

Empanada tastes good but i wonder why its paired with aioli? Aoili tasted good but it does overpower the brisket filling. A salsa wouldve been the best choice.

Overall, yumy food and we enjoyed.

Delicious tapas Saturday night. Octopus. Croquettes. Brussel Sprouts. And finish with churros and egg tart.

Poor service, the waitress gave no real descriptions of the menu and what was on offer, nice surroundings, but unfortunately I felt the staff let the place down, perhaps a new member of the team, but still should have been properly trained. A great shame, it looked like it had great possibilities. Sorry guys

Barulho never disappoints, it’s always exceptional and delicious. Their heat and eat takeaways during lockdown (which they still offer) were the best. Lunch yesterday we had a selection of tapas and sides, could not decide which was the best as everything was great. Wonderful service, great ambiance. I love this place!

Best ceviche in town! Awesome staff and amazing drinks! The tables outside are the perfect spot to have lunch on a sunny day, margaritas are great, and good selection of wines too. Will be back for sure.

Came here today with my boyfriend, all I can say is - not only does it have just the most devine food (highly recommend the sourdough starter and the meatballs) but also such brilliant waitstaff. They offered some brilliant cocktails and had a brilliant vibe about them. Highly, highly, recommend coming here.

The food is sublime. But I was not asked for my vaccine pass and neither was at least one other person at my table. Others were seen entering and not being asked to show theirs. The red light rules says With My Vaccine Pass Hospitality venues, such as cafes, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, can open at Red, with My Vaccine Pass and restrictions. If a hospitality venue chooses to follow My Vaccine Pass requirements, only people with My Vaccine Pass are allowed to enter the premises. This includes delivery drivers, and people who are picking up their own takeaway orders. Our experience was very disappointing. Via a phone complaint they argued, but via an Insta message (which can be copied and shared) they agreed to screen all guests as they arrived. Let's hope they do now.

Very good tapas, my only complaint would be that the picanha, which we specifically asked to be medium rare was much closer to well done and therefore quite tough. Nice drinks and great ambiance, I'd return, although next time I will return the picanha

Ordered the heat and eat through lockdown. It was our 20th wedding anniversary.

Food was sensational - Baruhlo has been a favourite for a while and this meal did not disappoint.

Make sure you try it you will not be disappointed. Thanks guys

My friend and I went to Barulho last Wednesday evening. We are both foodies and especially love tapas, so we were excited to try it out.
It did not disappoint! The service was great, attentive.but not pushy. The waiter always topped up our wine as he walked past. The ambience was cozy and inviting and most tables were full when we left.
Now for the most important part. THE FOOD!
1st we ordered, the buttermilk fried chicken, prawns and patavas bravas. Everything was delicious! The prawns were to die for! Huge, fresh and juicy in the delicious soup served with fresh bread.unbelievable! The patavas bravas were super crispy, huge and delicious sauce! The chicken was equally delicious, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It also came with a lovely Sriracha aoli! Then we ordered beef brisket empanadas which were super yum! Brisket was really melted and full of flavor. Can't wait to come back again

Restaurant had good ambiance, and food was decent. If it wasn't for that, I would give it 5 stars.

However, when I made the booking, I was under the impression that we had table for 2 hours: when I called to make the booking, a staff member told me that I can have the table until 7: 15 when I asked about 5: 30 reservation, so I made the booking for 5: 15. About 1: 30 into the booking, a staff came to say that we only had 5 more minutes left. I thought this was odd, but about 5 minutes later, the same staff came back to say that we should leave and can pay at the table. I paid and looked at the clock, and we still had 15 minutes of the booking left, so when I told the staff member that I was under the impression that we had the booking for 2 hours, she feigned ignorance and stepped away. Finally, a male staff member came and told me when we still had 5-10 mins of booking time left if we could leave early because the 7: 15 reservation arrived.

I found this incident to be extremely unprofessional and rude. Coming up to the table three times and asking them to leave is just straight up bad service. At the time, I was with company, so I did not ask to see the manager, but in hindsight, I should have. It begs the question of why make a booking time to be 2 hours when you want customers to leave at 1: 30? If people made booking for 7: 15.regardless of when they arrive.can wait until 7: 15. I don't think the restaurant should push paying customers out because a booking arrived early.
