Excellent place for a chill drink. Bartenders very nice. A bit expensive, 2x drinks were $44, but worth it as you are buying the atmosphere and experience.

Me and my Whanau were well taken care of; the special honey treats awarded at the end of the night, in celebration, were greatly appreciated. Wondrous service unlike any other. Now my favourite hole in the wall to speak easy. We will be back!

Super cool. Had to kill some time nearby to wait for a text to get in on a busy Saturday night, which worked out well.
When got in place seemed to be full of people enjoying intimate civilised chats, good but not overpowering music (and drinks).
Even on Saturday night, no-one loud, obnoxious or smashed. Nice.

I have only been here once, and I am 100000000% coming here again!

What's not to love?
- The aesthetic of the places gives of a 1940's vibe as you walk in and take a seat.
- The experience is so personalised, you feel super special.both the servers and the mixologists are so nice, it feels like they really care about you and want you to have the best experience possible!
- The personalised cocktails they make for you. OH MY GOD they are SO GOOD! Yes the place is on the more expensive end but it is definitely worth it.

I first heard about Caretaker from a friend when I lived in London. After some months in Auckland I finally had the chance to try it out and was delighted. The décor is suitably dark and comfortable which reminded me of many a night in London town. The decorations subtle and appealing and the idea behind the bar stroke a chord with me. No menu just a creative bar tender and server. I was guaranteed something I would like, and they truly delivered. If you want to try new and interesting cocktails this is the place to go.

Been a few times and love the vibe.cocktails are amazing.they get my taste correct each time.it takes a while but that's ok as its such a chill place.

This place is pure ambience.

There is a no menu system here, tell them what you ‘feel’ like and they’ll make it for you. I’ve not had a bad ‘feel’ here before.

It sits underground behind a tiny green door so it’s hard to find, but you should do you best to find this place because it will put a smile on your face.

We went in with a group of 8 after an event and we were treated with such love and care! The bartender made a point to ask each person about their preferences and chose something special and different for all of us. Not to mention everything tasted amazing. Worth every dollar but get there early because it fills up fast!

So, when I was 'welcomed' to the space, I immediately saw a pile of red flags that was the lady allocating us to our seats. After selecting our drinks and having a nice time. The night quickly came to a halt as the main waitress projected her insecurities onto us, viciously and manipulatively persuading her impressionable bar staff to stop serving us drinks. And let's be clear we are very loyal customers of deadshot on ponsonby road, and thought it would be the same welcoming vibe at care taker, but I can tell you this, the lack of the lovely owners (of the bar) presence was definately noted. Due to the appalling actions of this waitress, I and my fellow community members will not be returning, to deadshot and caretaker until this structural mess is resolved considering that this place is called 'caretaker' there is no care taken here. This establishment is a waste of space in the auckland CBD and should take a cold hard look at itself, peter cooper should be appalled, and I hope next time I see you peter we will be meeting at a more pleasant establishment.

Awesome bar and experience, with lovely classic background music. The personalized service was what really made the club a memorable evening.

No service waited almost 15 mins. Pretty slack considering we were text twice to say table was ready. 2 tables came after us and were served water and drinks within the time we were there and we didn't even get water! Definitely won't be going back.

Due to overwhelming crowd that happen to appear on a Thursday night we had to be waited to be seated and then drinks did take it's time however once they were ready the lovely bartender came around apologized and gave free shots!

This bar is AWESOME secluded down some stairs in Britomart and very stylish and cool. Don’t even think of looking at the drinks menu when you sit down as there isn’t one.however there are highly trained staff who will ask you questions about the type of flavours/alcohol you like and the bar tenders will create an AMAZING drink for you this bar is unlike anything I had been too there ate house rules that make it even more unique and I would highly recommend it.

They are amazing.the lady was really welcoming and her way to say is also lovely and kind.and its bit pricy abt all drinks but worth to try! It’s so fresh and good! I guess every Tuesday and Sunday there is a jazz performance which is the best part in this place. My friend and me We keen to enjoy PACHUCOS performance. The sound they’re playing relieve my stress and feel so great! We haven’t visit this place due to Covid. I guess we gonna visit this place near future! Missing this place so much

Those drinks were something else man. Very nice atomosphere. Very some of the best drinks I've ever had. Reckon they need more bartenders for their capacity, they are very overworked.

A cozy bar with the most awesome staff ever! They always pick just the right drink to suit my taste and make the place a super welcoming space even for first timers.

We had a great experience at the bar. The attentive, bespoke cocktails put the intimate and energetic lounge over the top. Finding it is a bit of an ask (which lends to the fun) but worth every second and dollar spent.
