Coco's Cantina reviews
77Worst Italian food that I've ever eaten. Pasta was uncooked and pizza was burnt and tasteless. I mentioned when I was paying it seems they don't care.
Food wasn't bad.service was poor, no initiative shown by any of the staff. And calling everyone babe, sweetie, darling doesn't work. Also I get everyone is free to be themselves but the contrast of staff attire was confusing and a bit inappropriate. From hoodies to tight tops and no bras, the service felt forced and fake. Times are tough, the lack of effort speaks volumes.
Just OK. Food was good if overpriced. Service was decidedly average. Much better places than this.
My partner and I came here for a dinner out with friends tonight. We love supporting owner-operated businesses and Coco’s was a delight (as always)! We had the most delicious pizza and the atmosphere was so lively. Kira and Frankie were wonderful hosts this evening. Mad love for the Coco’s whānau ️
Everything is delicious! Even in takeout boxes! We've got the duck ragu, grilled asparagus, liver parfait, salad and tiramisu. Thank you so much for brightening up a rainy level 3 Saturday?
First time in Level 3.2 Quattro Pizza, Tiramisu dessert, Polenta chips had the taste buds popping, will done again
Epic experience!
We had a booking for 6, with one of our party a little hard of hearing. Taia and the other staff were incredibly hospitable, and made our dinner experience super pleasant by arranging a quiet space for us. Nothing was a bother, and they engaged with us throughout the evening in a super genuine and comfortable manner. Thanks so much Taia and the rest of the team (sorry I didn’t get our main female wait staff members name)!
Wonderful service and great food in casual surroundings. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the staff go the extra mile. Definitely recommended.
Cocos Cantina is a favourite of mine. A vibrant atmosphere, fantastic food and drinks. Try the polenta chips!
I was really looking forward to having a girls night out and our first stop was dinner at Coco Cantina. I have heard such great reviews about this restaurant so I had to check it out for myself. The food did not disappoint and was good portion size. However I cannot say the same for the service, unfortunately. The waiter that was assigned to our table was quite rude and disrespectful to be honest which took away from a true Coco Cantina experience, that members of the public consistently rave about. I entered the restaurant and sat down with my girls and ordered a red wine to begin with. The waiter came and clumsily split the red wine all over the table (lucky I wasn't wearing a light colored outfit) following this mishap she did not even flinch, not even the courtesy to apologize or show any sign of remorse. She quickly cleared the table and left me with a half split glass of red wine that was dripping from the sides of the cup. I waited to see if she would come back to replace it and she never did, not even to take our order following this episode. We eventually got a hold of her and had to ask her to replace the wine and even then continued to display disgusting attitude and came back to slam the glass of wine on the table. By then I was ready to escalate this behavior and leave the restaurant because it truly put me off but I did not want it to affect our evening and the fact that the restaurant was really busy on a Saturday. It made me think about how this scenario would of played out if I was dealing with the manager or owner and I highly doubt they would of communicated in the same manner of this waiter. Later on we ended up dealing with this lovely lady half british and argentinian I think, because the other one was MIA, I wish I had caught her name to complain but all I could recall was that she had long dark hair that was in a braid, red lipstick with a bandana around her head worn like a head band and a black outfit, I'm pretty sure she had piercings too. All in all, the food was great and met my expectations but the service was appalling. Service is just as important as the food you eat in a restaurant. If you want to become a waiter do the job properly, or better yet attend etiquette lessons trust me this will take you a long way! And just to be clear this feedback is not targeting all your staff members as I only had an issue with the one. I am not sure if I will be back at this stage. What a shame.
Always feel so welcomed here, on the few occusations I do go, it's always smiles.
Food is consistantly good. We will go more often now.
Bought my 3 year old son here, it's our first time here as a family, got really good vibes and it's very family friendly, just from the genuine friendliness alone.
We had our work mid-year function at Coco's Cantina. What a fun place to eat. Staff are fab. And the dishes were delicious
As always a vibrant destination to eat delicious food and drink wonderful wine. The staff are exceptional, they're chatty, fun, intelligent and dedicated to give you a really fun friendly foodie experience. 5 stars.
Great food, amazing atmosphere and the Tiramisu is so good! Despite the Tiramisu being massive, it's not too rich and can easily be enjoyed after a big meal.
The decor is amazing, the staff are super fun and friendly - this is an awesome place to go during happy hour especially.
Delicious pomodoro pasta with authentic and real Italian style tomato sauce, go for their happy hour special dinner meal available between 4: 00pm - 6: 30pm from Wednesday to Saturday with antipasto starter then main as well as dessert ($23).
Had a fun time
Couldn't all get what we all wanted from the menu but get it times are tough after covid.
Friendly staff
Sorry guys, your website said cocktails and pizza so we came along and so disappointed we walked away without ordering. The menu lacked substance. Limited pizza, Limted pasta and little for the vegetarian amongst us, combined with very limited cocktails is not in my opinion the way to go.just not for me
Food delish. Visually appealing food. What nationality is this place? Could not guess from the decor or from the varied menu. I saw it as a mish mash of Spanish/Italian/Mexican maybe.what's with the plastic streamers (Islander possibly) and huge hanging roses (no clue on this). The waitresses, although cheerful might do better in a uniform. The service was great, informative.
The FOOD is what made this place for me. After all that.yes I will return
The service is great and the Pasta with meatballs is out of this world. Best spaghetti I’ve ever had and filling too. My sister had the happy hour special spaghetti pompadour and she loved it too. Place was again getting busy as we left but will remember it for the pasta. I need the recipe to make these at home.
