Drivesure Waitakere Testing Station

I've been coming here for a couple of years for WOFs and services on two different vehicles. As a woman I'm picky about the automotive places I use. I highly recommend this Drivesure branch, they're trustworthy and professional.

My husband accidentally went here instead of VTNZ. My car has a mobility lift and has previously had WOFs with no issues. They would not give me a pass because of my Abiliquip wheelchair lift. We contacted the installer of my lift to check if it needed a certification plate, it doesn’t. We let the South African guy know this. But he still insisted he see my wheelchair in the car. (But I can’t get out of the car without my wheelchair)
In the end he didn’t need to see my wheelchair in the car. So all he did was waste our time.

Moral of the story- always go to actually VTNZ

The testing Officer lost the plot with me when I was told by the receptionist to drive into the testing area and stop prior to the pits, with my caravan attached for its WOF.
One inspector became Very aggressive and loud yelling at me from close up.
Not professional at all very disappointed as this was my first visit with this testing company.
Also they failed my caravan very suspicious as never had any issues at VTNZ on my previous WOF checking.
Prior caravan was in engineering shop and all was all checked and looked good.
Somehow the axle was now bent in centre it’s a mystery how this happened?
Don’t recommend these cowboys.

Wait times for a WOF can be quite long. But this is as expected for a drive in, 1st come, 1st served place as no bookings are taken for WOFs. Since it is Covid setting, social distancing is a must. Good to see customers waiting in the carpark instead of sitting inside the reception area.

Took my old 4x4 in 6 months ago failed on tierod end, pitman arm and a cracked tyre. Replaced pitman arm and tierod end and took it back in. Failed on brakes, lights, horn which is fine but they failed me on surface rust on my rear seat belts and told me they all need to be replaced, how have they suddenly rusted out in that short amount of time? And where did they cracked in the tyre disappear to? I cannot believe how inconsistent the tests are, what else are they missing?

For regular users, they have streamlined the process to get a warrant of fitness. I was lucky to hit a quiet patch and everything was done and dusted in no time. Can certainly recommend them for you warrant needs.

Don't go on a Saturday morning. They are really slow and you'll end up waiting over an hour easy.
Edit: waited 1h 25min.

Used them for the first time for a cof they were really good, no waiting in line, a much better experience then vtnz Kumeu.

Good friendly team that is quite helpful with the whole process. You can get general service done here as well.

Best Testing Station around! Staff are always friendly, helpful, honest and reasonable.

Originally I had this place at 5 stars but in recent times the staff are inconsistent with their appraisal of work to the point I had to go in 3 times to get work accepted and reviewed and three times I got three different opinions. On the third I complained and they waived the problems they came up with on the third visit to give me my WOF. I don't like paying negative reviews if you look at all my reviews but I'm not sone 'Karen' complaining, I know a bit about cars and the result you will get is entirely dependant on which employee is looking over your car. Unacceptable explanations also for the inconsistencies once I complained. One of the reasons they tried to explain as to why I needed to replace a set of suspension bushes they hadn't seen on my initial visit was that it would have been I drove the car around a lot between times when they saw it I pointed out it had only done 11 - yes 11 kilometres from last time they saw it as my mechanic is next door to my apartment and I didn't drive the vehicle during lockdown. They gave me a warrant after that without changing my bushes - interesting to say the least. The office staff are always nice though so two stars.

A quick and efficient service outside of peak times otherwise there can be a bit of a wait. Comfortable waiting area with bathroom facility. Highly recommended over the other crowd in Henderson.

I put my car Rego on hold for year, finally had time during this break to get it up and running again. I have been to many WoF places from out West to South, pricing from $30-$85 and this place takes the CAKE! At the time of this review I paid $61, with the loyalty card i get $5 off on my next WoF. I guess my timing may have been perfect because there was only one other person doing his WoF besides me. This is during the Christmas Break so i was not sure what to expect. I know where i will be going next year. ;)

Read some of the bad reviews before coming and did not experience any of it. I even saw 2x guys checking my car as the second person had the time to assist the main person carrying out my inspection. I know in doing so this will speed up my waiting time. (Yes i saw the reviews about the wait times.) In conclusion I had a great experience with them and will definitely be coming back with my wife's cars. If result are different i will update this review but as of now its A+ service.

(PS: Just so you know I did my own "Pre Inspection" before taking my car in. I checked ALL the lights on my car. License plate lights, all brake lights, all turn signal lights, parking lights, high/low beams are on, hazard lights, changed my own oil and oil filter, air filter & cabin filter too, check my own brakes and tires, checked my seat belts, and checked my handbrake. Also cleaned out/wash my car while I was at it. I didn't just simply show up and did nothing to my car. You only fooling yourself if i made sound so EZ.lol)

Too lazy to check car properly. Failed warrant on ridiculous, non-safety issue. They took $60 and did nothing for it. They did not seem keen to do their job properly as they refused to check the car due to an apparently ‘dirty’ underneath of the car. Never go here!

Awesome testing station. Pretty fast considering how busy it is. Also could buy rego at the same time so really convenient.

A pleasure to deal with great customer service from Ariana and the Drivesure team. And efficient service from the knowledgeable mechanic for my WOF.

Took my car and caravan in for a WOF on both. Both done together. Friendly and helpful service by Pete and the team in the office plus got a discount for having a Gold Card.
