French Rendez-vous Restaurant reviews
52Had a really nice time as a large group. The staff were very helpful with the booking process and serving us on the day. Also, we really appreciate what the staff did to help us with a birthday cake. Will surely dine here again.
Everything in your plate is homemade: the ice-creams, the sorbets, the sauces, the chutneys, the ravioli, etc.all made from scratch with bare ingredients. The quality is just unlike anything you will find in Auckland. The chef is a perfectionist, highly skilled, and works with an excellent team. And the lake view atmosphere is just so serene. Best French restaurant in town, from a French girl ;)
Lovely setting with very friendly staff. There's a great choice of galettes, but be warned. The servings are large!
The view is great, but needs to choose a sunny day to go. Food tastes Ok, it’s worth a try.
Lovely view, nice breeze from lake as we sit outdoor on a sunny afternoon; Not usually a duck fan but really enjoyed the duck gnocchi; Galette was an interesting experience; planning to be back to try other items on the menu
The quality of the food is very good, as the location and presentation of the dishes. However the buckwheat pancakes don't taste good, normal pancakes would have been a lot nicer, and portion sizes are quite small for the price. I'd recommend going somewhere else in Takapuna in the future.
Just had a coffee, very nice lady who turned the heater on for us so we could sit outside. Very good coffee
Lovely food, lovely space. All are working very hard but still food waiting time is a bit longer. But must go for it.
The chef's breakfast was good, only served till 12pm.
I also like the Alain Delon.
Not to mention the nice view right next to the lake.
Perfect location on the shores of Lake Pupuke - great views, sunny northern aspect, classic French menu - galettes, croquet monsieur, etc. Morning lunch and evening service.
Great location away from the crowds of Takapuna.wasn’t too busy when we visited Sunday mid morning. I’d definitely go again
First time back in several years still as good as ever. Must not wait so long next time. The beef was great.
Unfortunately the only redeeming feature about this venue is the view. One dish never arrived; the crazy carrot dish ordered was just roasted carrots with sorbet on top. The menu stated to be accompanied with bread and chutney, however when we asked, the chef told us the menu was wrong. In all, what we did receive was a disappointment.
Had the Goat cheese and pear salad. Lettuce appeared to be out of a bag from the supermarket, had to remove the pear, chunk of bread and slice of cheese off the dish so I could chop the lettuce small enough to eat. Not a refined dish at all. On a previous visit my companion was not happy with the Beef Bourguignon. Will think twice before going there again.
We went for a birthday lunch. The food and service were excellent. I did not expect the standard of food for the price. Flavour and presentation were excellent and the setting is great over looking Lake Pupuke. We will be back.
The food was very nice and tasty, although the portions were rather small (we ordered a regular size ones). I was hoping to have a french onion soup, but it's not on the menu anymore, very upsetting: (
Really enjoyed the Beef Borguignon and the Hunter chicken. Absolutely easily the best chicken and beef I've had in a long time. Highly recommend checking out this place. Amazing staff as well
Loved it. Definitely not your average cafe. Beautifully presented food. Really great experience. French toast is a must. Lovely lake views.
Very disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm and lack of willingness to help about us organising a Christmas Staff Event this December 2022. The lady who answered the phone advised why it was NOT possible to host the event. So very sad as I wanted to support local businesses and thought they would want the revenue after 2 years of little or no business.
