French Rendez-vous Restaurant reviews
52Absolutely stunning view when sitting outside. My daughter and I visited the restaurant today and had the small portion of onion soup which wasn't all that great, needed some sort of seasoning, but the sweet crepe was delicious. The staff were very attentive and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed checking up on us quite regularly unlike other cafes where you struggle to get their attention, absolutely made my day.
Amazing food and outstanding view. Great service and super welcoming staff that makes you feel great. Perfect start of the day. Thank you guys
Lovely place as there is a lake, good view with nice weather. Poor service. Weve been waiting and seated. No water and cutlery on the the table where we seated - the rest had. Had to ask someone to come as we were ready to order. Showed us the whole big wooden menu (as tall as a kid) that a waitress had to carry in front of you (weird). My friends and I ordered and had to repeat our orders as they seemed not to understand what we wanted - so another lady had to come and asked our orders AGAIN. Served us with food and forgotten our coffee! COFFEE! We already finished our dish and still no coffee. We had to ask everything in place.
Great coffee and lovely right on the lake. Kids can play outside while the adults eat. The Takapuna crepe (blue cheese, prosciutto, pear) was quite literally the most amazing thing ever
Lake view is good, the service is not optimal, especially compare with other cafes in Takapuna. Not sure if it’s because my friend and I only ordered coffees at lunch time or because we are Asian looking customers. Did not feel we get warm welcome as other Caucasian customers. When we in the middle of chatting outside while enjoying the coffee and lake view, the waiter came and interrupted us TWICE by asking if we need order anything else or collecting my empty coffee cup. I don’t think this is professional. Okay, I‘v got your hint that we should probably leave at busy lunch time so you can save the good lake-view spot to other customers you want to serve. But that interruption was just rude and ruined my mood. Will never recommend this cafe to my friend
Wonderful dinner experience. Calm, private, beautiful location and view over lake.
Food was all very yummy and beautiful. Smaller portions and normal prices; however we left satisfied and not overly full which made us happy.and as I said the food was all very good and authentic French. Very bubbly and friendly waitress who was willing to help in any way.
Overall, we enjoyed it and recommend it for a lovely, calm evening out with good food.
My favorite cafe in Auckland. Love the food, staff, chef and the environment. Coffee is slightly bitter. Can't wait to come back after lock down.
We ordered two large coffees takeaway. But there cup sizes were very small. $11.60 very disappointing. 20% from the top of cup was no coffee it was just frothy.
In the current Covid level 2 in Auckland, we were appalled at the lack of hygiene here. Too much food uncovered on the counter where customers order and they were using their bare hands to put marshmallows in hot chocolates! Needless to say we walked out without ordering anything.
Disappointed. Spent a friend's birthday there, who called ahead and was assured that there would be vegan options, in the end, no real options, just a dish put together for our vegan friends which consisted of 5 gnocchi, 1/4 of a carrot and a spoon of mushrooms for 19$ (way too expensive). We asked for a menu, which was shown to us on a board behind us, but after a while the waitress came with another one that had more options including desserts and breakfast, which weren't on the one we were looking at in the beginning (would have been helpful to know ahead). The eggs Benni were average, but the spinach filled galette was very good, and the view and overall ambience are very nice.
Wonderful welcome, relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. The food is of high quality, tasty and well presented. All in all a lovely dining experience. An added bonus of a good view over the lake and fantastic value for money
Food was different from normal cafe food selection which was why we went there. Classic french food options eg french onion soup, beef boulignon, crepes etc all beautifully cooked and great value for money. Lovely setting on lake pupuke so you can walk out on the wharf and grounds. Easy parking
