Everyone at Grace Removals are the best people to deal with, at all levels of the company.
I highly recommend these guys! They made our moving day stress free.

We hired a truck and 2 men to help with our move. They were very professional, super organised and made such a stressful time so much better than it could have been. They cost a little more than some places, however, I chose them as they offer more extra's, like couch and mattress covers, coming out to do a pre-inspection of access and size of job, and were so efficient and professional throughout. Would definitely recommend them and I think the price is well worth it.

We found that the crew that moved us where polite, worked hard to get the job done, respectful of our possessions and good humoured

An excellent move by two very helpful, efficient & friendly employees of Grace Removals. Also it was great dealing with Kathy Amos in their office as she was always giving me helpful advice regarding my move. Great company to use when moving house.

Thank you for such a prompt efficient move Grace Removals when you shifted us from our old house into our new apartment. The staff were prompt and very pleasant and made the move a breeze. It was very stressful and "our" three strong guys made the experience more palatable.
We will highly recommend you to anyone moving house, and we are just delighted we will never have to make such a huge shift again!

The whole process was so easy-from getting a professional quote, to the communication prior to the day. Over the two days we had Grace, Rob and his team worked so hard and efficiently to get the job done.this was in the midst of a torrential downpour! We definitely recommend Grace Removals!

In February i had Pale, Fred, Luke, Bob moving 2 story, 3 bedroom house and a garage with few really heavy pieces. The driveway was very steep, so they had to use shuttle van to get them to the van. The worked tirelessly until finished. No coffee or cigarette breaks, instead cheerful and fun to be around team of professionals. Highly recommended.

I don’t post bad reviews but in this case I feel the duty to let other prospective customers know what they’re in for. The experience with this company was horrifyingly stressful from beginning to end, given all my other previous experiences with movers.
1. The agent that came to give me a quote went around my house and entered rooms without asking/without warning. I wasn’t previously told he would be assessing my belongings by walking into rooms without asking as in all my previous experiences I have just asked for the amount of boxes I knew I would need - in this case, the agents job seemed to be to assess the amount of things I had and then just assume how many boxes I would need without confirmation from me. Was uncomfortable experience as I had not planned for him to walk into my bedroom and office without warning.
2. The removalists who came to pack my belongings were late and needed two trucks because of the miscalculation of boxes, which took an additional 2 hours just to wait for the second truck to arrive. The removalists were on their phones the entire time they were packing which meant the packing time was extended significantly and I couldn’t leave to take care of other things. To top it off, they opened a select few of my personal packed bags and unpacked them, which had my clothes and meaningful belongings inside “to see if there were any aerosols”. I was not told of this practice. (Nor was I aware that aerosols couldn’t be packed onto a container ship either?) The removalists werent finished until 7: 30pm.
3. After asking what the total cost was upfront at the beginning of my quote and purchasing their services, I received a vague email on the 13th of January (a month after my belongings were packaged and picked up) saying that my stuff had arrived in Auckland from Melbourne and that I needed to pay another $130 for quarantine and $20 for every extra day spent in quarantine/storage and that I needed to fill out & sign an extra form with details that they already had on file (i.e name and address). After which they would process and release my things. Essentially holding it hostage until I paid for services I didn’t ask for and filled out forms with details they already had. This request for storage costs especially surprised me as I had already requested that they drop my belongings off to me as soon as possible, in other words, i had already requested that my stuff to not be put into storage. Oddly, I even had to fill out and sign a form at the beginning of the quote in December 2017 that guaranteed someone would be at my property in Auckland in roughly February 2018 (3mths ahead) to accept my belongings even though they still had not given me a date to drop my things off. This email was so vague as they did not specify how long my things were estimated to be in quarantine, nor did they say when my things would be dropped off so I could calculate whether I needed it to stay in storage until someone was here to accept them.
4. Lastly, There was a delay in my belongings being processed through quarantine due to having contained entomology specimens in my crate. This stunned me as at the beginning of my quote I had ALREADY corresponded with Grace and MPI New Zealand (government) regarding these specimens and received an email back from mpi.gov.nz saying (direct quote from email) “Non-viable insect specimens can come in under inonvinic.all provided that they are not of CITES concern where they would require an export permit from DoC or country of origin government authorities. ” And I was given the ‘go-ahead’ by Grace.

I was never informed by email or by phone call of the delay and had to chase Grace down for 3 weeks before I got an actual answer. It was never explained to me why they only just assessed the one specimen and not the others.

All in all, I feel this company asks too much in both money and in practice of their customers for the little effort, efficiency, and honesty that the customer actually gets in return. I would never use these services again and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

We had an awesome experience with Grace Removals from end to end. Can't fault anything at all. The assessment, the proposal, the quote, the quality of packing, the pick up, loading, delivery and the care in which our goods were handled was superb. The guys in Auckland and Christchurch were professional and friendly. Nothing was a problem for them. If you are considering using a removal company - give the team at Grace Removals a call first.
