Grammar Electrical reviews
83Very professional team who helped after hours on a Sunday to restore power to my home after a faulty RCD took out my power points late Afternoon. John arrived quickly and returned the next day to replace the faulty product. John was very professional - friendly and helpful and supplied the relevant compliance documentation for the repair. Was very happy with the service and can highly recommend Grammar Electrical.
I am very happy with the service provided by Grammar Electrical. From the initial estimate to the completed job, the staff have been friendly and helpful. Pricing was transparent. The job was finished ahead of schedule and regular updates provided. If you a looking for an electrician I recommend Grammar Electrical.
John was great. Located the electrical issue that was causing our fuses to trip, replaced and repaired the part in an hour. Professional and explained things well. Thanks again guys.
Lots of miscommunication has left me with an unfinished job and no reply. If I were to do the same with clients in my industry it would be unacceptable. Half the job was completed hence the two star.
We instructed Grammar to do a very repair basic job in a motorhome
The ‘electrician’ calls us back and explains that he isn’t touching the job as the entire electrical fit out was ‘dangerous and illegal’ the full electrical wiring would need to be ripped out and it would cost thousands.
This is despite the original work being done and signed off by a registered electrician.
This ruined our summer, we didn’t take the motorhome away for our holiday and we were thoroughly depressed as to remove the electrical work would mean we would have to remove the entire fitout that had cost us $6k.
I spoke to another electrician who said it sounded strange as a registered electrician wouldn’t sign off dodgy work and risk losing his license.
I got a second opinion by paying for a registered electrical inspector to review and low and behold the electrical work was signed off with absolutely no issues.
The basic repair job was handled with no issues either and took all of 20 minutes!
If you have hired these guys and they say you need more work than what you have asked them
to do. Do yourself a favour and get a second opinion.
Great service, thorough and professional. Explained what they were doing. Tidy. Very pleased with their work. Replaced and relocated power board.
Excellent overall service. Very easy company to deal with, administrators and quotes were great with pre-work communication, quote was very good (i allowed an extra $150 for parts and extras). Invoice came in as i expected with ZERO SURPRISES.
Andre was assigned to us and was just incredible to work with. He was here on time, got straight to mahi (work) and really went above and beyond installing our oven and cooktop, taking the time to map out and problem solve before getting stuck in. He also fixed our light in our garage and provided amazing advice. Very efficient guy.
Wouldnt hesitate to call grammar up again in The future.
Very very happy wifey and whanau here. Thank you
I am very impressed with the customer care and professionalism of grammar electrical.they have preserved with a tricky job and resolved the issue perfectly in a timely fashion.
Very happy with the work done by Grammar Electrical - awesome electrician, excellent quality. Would definitely recommend.
Awesome team, spent longer at our home than expected installing extraction fan, hobs, oven new light fittings. So patient and professional, excellent work! Will definitely be calling again for the next
renos, thank you for the great work!
Overpriced! Beware of Hidden Charges!
I was quoted $172 service fee plus parts when I was making price comparisons for a small job (replacing a light and socket).
After the job I received invoice for extra charges including:
Compliance Certificate ($35)
"Residential electrician" ($45)
These charges were explained as:
RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICIAN
“Residential Electrician + Accessories & Sundries - pertains to additional half an hour incurred as Travel time.
HOWEVER - their website states:
"Residential clients’ vehicle charge is included in the service call. "
This means that this is an ongoing price gouging mechanism that the company is using - despite stating the contrary on their own website.
COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATE
This is not legally required for a maintenance or like for like replacement. I did not ask for one - I was not informed that I would be provided one at $35.
These charges were not mentioned when confirming the job at all. I never received an answer to the question why these were not mentioned up front and why it was necessary to issue the certificate (besides charging $35 for a form which takes 2 minutes to make).
The work was fine – however given their systemic use of hidden charges to inflate the bill– This is one company that needs to be avoided at all costs.
I was booking automative door repair for Monday, they not even coming then charge me like $172, The engieer ask me stay at home but they just cancel with out asking, when i asking refund, they even hang out the phone.never use this bad company again.
I needed to use an emergency electrician on a night this week and got in touch with Grammar Electrical.
I urge you all to ask them the rates and clarify as what they tell you on the phone is very different to what they communicate on their website.
I have attached the photo of their website which highlights the cost of $385 + GST, which includes the first 3 hours.
However, the lady on the phone insisted those rates were for the first hour only. She used the words 'I don't care what the website says, but what I have with me here says. '
Dear Grammar Electrical, customer service is key and some consistent messaging on prices would help.
This was the first time I have used Grammar and was so impressed with their website that I decided to give them a go. The whole team were incredibly professional, friendly and did what they said they would. WOW - not often you can say that about trades. Well done team. I will certainly use you again and recommend you to others. Thank you.
Grammar Electrical are our "go to" electricians. I can't recommend them enough. They are highly professional, friendly, prompt with their responses and great value.
We had the worst service ever!
I don’t know where to begin tbh. My husband decided to organised grammar electrical to wall mount 2 tvs in the living room and kitchen given that they were professionals and good reviews.
A guy named Richard scope the job and he was quite good, he knew what we wanted and he also assured us there were minimal holes (no holes in the kitchen since we’ve provision it during the renovation).
But this was not case, 2 other guys came to do the work and they messed up my living room and kitchen.
1. Kitchen tv was too high, originally we discussed that its going to level with the top frame of the door. (we’re going to have a stiff neck watching the tv with that height)
2. Because the tv was in the wrong height and not centred, we have now more holes on the wall
3. They installed the wrong media box the tech wrote in the notes that my husband didn’t want it but he misheard what he said. He didn’t even clarify before drilling holes on my WALLS!
4. For the price we paid, we thought we would have positive experience. We thought having professionals do it we didn’t have to do much work patching up the walls!
Richard came back to fix all the issues and the only positive thing was that we got what we wanted in the end even though it we have such a horrible experience.
Note to owner: job # 62647
No power to water heater.
Great communication. Arrived early, cheerful, helpful.
Sourced the problem, repaired in good time.
The guys kept us updated through out, including letting us know that they needed more parts which would increase the cost. They tidied up afterwards
We started off on a bad note but in my view a mark of a good business is not that they never get things wrong. It is how they recover from that and what they do to procatively fix the problem. In that we could not fault Grammer Electrical and we would certainly use them again and promote them to others.
Had cabling installed for fibre in a second dwelling. Staff were great very professional from start to end. Very knowledgeable. Very happy with job.
