Grand Park Chinese Seafood Restaurant reviews
59Worst yum char experience in Auckland. Booked a table and had to wait 40 minutes, the food was average, we paid $150 for a disappointing lunch and the toilet had no toilet paper. Don’t even bother to go there.
Very good dim sum restaurant. Food is outstanding. We drive 5 hours from Auckland and eat here each time. Excellent service and friendly staff
The girl at the reception was terribly rude today. Even tho we made a reservation, we can’t go in at the time we booked. The girl told me to come to her when all my friends have arrived. When i did that, she just crossed out sth on the paper, and continued to calling out numbers and let other people in. I was just standing there being ignored. So I asked her what’s going on, and she looks really annoyed and yelled at me that we need to wait. I was very confused but still try to be nice and said “nobody said anything to me”. And she continued to yell that we need to wait. I know you guys are busy, but I don’t think you get to give that attitude. I used to love this place, but I don’t think I’ll come back again.
Food quality is much less than average and too expensive. We regerted we went for lunch so will never come back. Also staff can't speak English at all and when I asked questions in English, they expressed annoyed. If the food quality is excellent, we don't care about staff attitude so much and feel like the price is reasonable. But all of them are much lower than average so rate just 1 star.
I must admit the food was good. But only 2 stars because it is very expensive and the overall experience less than desirable. For eg you pay $2 per person for tap water. There are no prices available on the menu, so if you are not mentally prepared you might get a bill shock. There is a wait because of its popularity and perhaps because of that they can charge you high prices. Some of the service staff are friendly but "service" is essentially non existent because they are so busy. Overall, my experience of it was it felt like being packed tightly onto a conveyor belt, eat your food quickly and then pay and get out so that the next group can come in.
Overrated. Food quality was average and selection poor. No dish was a stand out. Best tasting was probably spareribs (average). They did not have baked bbq buns on the day (we went on a weekend) nor do they serve the more delicious BBQ filled pineapple buns (available in many other dimsum restaurants). Roast duck was cold so below average, egg tarts were bad, Portuguese egg tarts better but still average. Very crowded and it wasn't worth the wait. The venue and atmosphere was the only plus really. I'd go to alternatives next time.
30-50% more expensive that most of Tim cha restaurants in Auckland, but food here tastes really good. Though service was mediocre and sometimes bad, it happened else where.
Weekend reservation is useless.
Still need wait for long time, very bad organization! Don’t want to come anymore.
The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
I was fortunately shouted Yum Char here today although we were a little after two, there was an excellent selection of dishes available. I would throughly recommend this restaurant.
Lovely restaurant and loved how the lady serving us with the plates made our family giggle while she was serving plates, A great memorie to have for my Grandmother's birthday lunch.
In term of food, they are awesome! So nice, tasty and if you love spicy (Like I do) their chilli oil are nice.
It is quite expensive though, but I suppose you pay for quality
If you go for yum cha on the weekend, it can be quite busy and you could wait up to 30-45 mins for the seat.
Food was great. Service was average as you have to call the staff to come and serve you. They've renovated in recent times so the cleanliness is of a high standard.
First time here. Staff were helpful and courteous. Great selection of fresh and tasty food. I have yet to experience its equal in the Waikato or BOP. Well worth returning the next time in Auckland
Dim sum at lunchtimes is good. Prefer pearl garden restaurant in new market though.
The quality of the dinner restaurant menu here is fantastic and great for large families or groups. Service is fantastic though a little pricey - you get what you pay for.
Came here on long weekend and it was mayhem. Waited 30 mins but expected and was well organized. Food came out quick and surprisingly the food was still hot/ warm. If you are looking for a decent yum cha place for family get together- this is the one.
Was there on sunday. Very busy. Disappointed in the range of plates that was offered. Staff yelling and talking accross our table to other staff at other end of the room was very in-pleasant. Felt very rushed. Rather expensive. Didnt enjoy at all.also was not informed when we booked a week before that we could not go into the restaurant until all ore party 4 people was present. That was strange and annoying.
Booking system is so inefficient. We booked for 12, then had to take a number and waited for 35 mins. That's when I rage reviewed. Not worth the inconvenience
The best yum char restaurant in Auckland by far; also the most expensive; and getting more expensive every year. At weekends, the queue is extremely long. You can book if your group is at least 3 people; however, they won't start putting you in the queue unless you have everyone in your party is present. Parking also quite hard to find. Recently, they start to impose time limit on how long can you eat/be inside the restaurant; and they keep shorten your time in the restaurant. Last time I went there on March 17th, 2018, I was in the queue for 1 hr and 10 minutes, and they only give us 50 minutes to eat! The far end of the restaurant have a view to the race course.
If you come for dinner, don't waste your money & time. Better find other restaurants that are more yummy as well as cheaper.
Prawn dumplings, beef balls and prawn toast definate favourites. Men folk loved bbq pork and shumai plus ice cream balls
Like their yum Cha. But this doesn't means that if you have good relationship with the owner or staff you can jump queue where everyone else have been waiting for an hour or more? The owners or management, please treat all your customers fairly.
