Such a vibe. Amazing food and service. Loved the gin sours too! Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Love all their dishes basically, but current faves are burnt butter bread, scallop prawn pasta, rare-seared tuna, chips, grilled calamari salad and of course the sticky toffee pudding! We go there regularly with our little one.

Best restaurant in Auckland hands down!

Last night on a freezing wet blustery night we celebrated our daughters birthday at Morel. We had a really fun night. The food was fabulous, the chef really understands flavour. Our portions were of a good size and the choice of food on our antipasto platter was very different and beautifully presented. Connor our waiter was excellent and very professional. Thank you Morel for making our evening with you very enjoyable.

First time and definitely won't be the last. All 4 of us had superb meals. I had the best chicken Parmigiano ever.so succulent and flavorsome. Tnx

Lovely wee bistro, great atmosphere. My lamb was delicious, hubby loved pork meatballs, but friends had chicken and venison schnitzel and neither enjoyed. Nicr bottle of pinot gris.

Great little place. Always busy and would recommend that you book a table. The food is really great, we all enjoyed our mains and the desserts are worth it too. The service is great and had a nice evening. Highly recommended and will be back for sure!

We've had several excellent meals at Morell, including their set menu for Valentine's Day in 2023. Everything is always super tasty and presented beautifully, not to mention reasonably priced and in a very relaxed location. Staff are friendly and fun too. Highly recommend a visit to Morell!

Unfortunate service at a great Italian spot

We came to morells for a nice dinner out, and despite the delicious food the service was abysmal. The owner spoke rudely towards a friend of mine, ruining the entire meal for us.

One of Auckland's hidden gems, with superb great food and service. Would definitely go back! Highly recommended.

Beautiful food, awesome staff, very special evening for me and my whānau. Arancini, pork belly, sashimi, lamb rump, mezzelune with pana cotta, profiteroles and pudding on the on the same menu! (+ a few Sawmill beers). Yeah this is legit eating my bros don't miss it.

Probably one the best bistros in Auckland without a doubt. Amazing food, outstanding service. Our waiter was the best I've come across in recent times and well deserved the tip we gave him. Thanks Morehu (hope I spelt that right) Keep up the good work. Think we may have found our new favourite restaurant.

Morell is absolutely awesome and easily one of the best new bistro-style restaurants in Auckland. For starters, the vibe is great. It reminds me of Sydney's brilliant urban restaurants, perched on an intersection in a chic neighbourhood. Our table enjoyed a range of dishes and every single one was a hit. The service is warm, friendly and prompt. The wine list features some exceptional drops – we enjoyed a superb Tuscan number. Ponsonby is on our door step but we'll drive across town to enjoy Morell any day of the week. Check it out!

Pros

Cons:
1. I personally found it too dark inside and we used a phone torch to read a menu
2. Ordered tortellini. There were 2 options: small and large. We asked waitress to show how small or large portions are and after her showing us the size without doubt chosen small…. It was a mistake as i guess she showed us the size of the plate, not a portion where were just 6 little pieces
3. After 1.5 hour waitress approached us and asked to leave the table as there were people already waiting. She said they book tables for 1.5 hours only…. As we havent finished they moved us next to the entry door on the bar table or something like that.

Final conclusion for us: never again
