Rod and his team recently renovated our kitchen and bathrooms in our 1980’s property. They were incredibly challenging small spaces to work in (by today’s standards) and the project also involved completely removing the original dux quest piping.
Rod was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough from our initial meeting and kept us fully informed throughout the whole project which came in on budget and on time. Rod’s years spent working in the building trade means he has high standards as it's his name on the business and he expects the same standards from the trades people he engages, all of whom were great.
We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of the project and the brand-new kitchen and bathrooms have made our home so much nicer to live in and the reassurance that we no longer have the ongoing risk of leaking dux quest pipes is such a relief. We recently concluded a 10 week renovation project of 6 spaces (bathroom/ensuites/toilet/laundry/foyer) with Rod Nicol Renovations.
From first contact to final sign off, Rod has been a true pleasure to deal with.
After we pressed go, Rod kept us well informed as to likely start date through various Covid levels and lockdowns.
His quote process was thorough and any variations that arose were warranted, clearly explained and agreed to before proceeding.

It made the project so much smoother from our end that Rod managed all aspects of it, bringing in top rate subcontractors – plumber, electrician, tiler - that he vouched for.
The project ran exactly to schedule, even slightly ahead at some points, and the team was very accommodating in allowing us to work around a family wedding towards the end of the job.

I have to say that working with Rod on a renovation is an amazing experience. I am a PM myself and understand how important feedback, updates and quality control are to a project. Rod and his team did a fantastic job with our kitchen, bathroom and toilet renovation. Rod was quick to respond, provide a quote and worked thru multiple kitchen designs with us before we settled on our final layout. Rods team worked quickly and provided high quality work. A few challenges were found during demolition - not that surprising considering our place is over 50 years old! Rod communicated clearly what work needed to be done and what the extra charges would be for this. All trades people were on time and followed covid protocol. Our job was completed 6 days ahead of the original schedule despite the extra work required and was within budget. Rod called me every couple of days to provide a progress update and keep me informed of the next stage. I would recommend Nicol Renovations without hesitation.

From the first contact with Nicol Renovations, I was impressed by the passion and commitment shown by Rod. Communication was key as our project had to be paused because of the Level 4 lockdown announcement on the same day our (one and only) bathroom and toilet was completely stripped! Not an ideal situation but Rod made sure we were fully informed and up to date while we waited for the level to drop and the renovation to continue. Every time there was a government announcement on expected changes in the alert levels – we were sure to have a updated schedule from when work would restart. Communication was clear, the quotes were well set out, items that could be pre-ordered was ordered and any changes or variations were discussed in full and agreed to by both parties. The contractors that came on site were always very polite and professional. The workmanship was of a very high standard and I can’t thanks Nicol Renovation enough for the great work that was done. The project started on time at the revised time and on budget and was completed with no unexpected extra costs or surprises! I’m already lining up our next project and Nicol Renovations will be the first company we turn too!
