Oyster and Chop reviews
62Been there twice with my family on my husband's birthday. Very welcoming environment. Friendly staff and delicious food. This will be Our fav place for celebration
Been there a few times love the service every dish I've eaten was very good took the new gf there for desert seemed to work I got more desert when we got home.lol
We enjoyed the location and the service. The food was good but not sensational. We had steaks, scallops and while they were appreciated they didn't stand out as much as we thought they would, given we were in a Prime location and our expectations. Still willing to give it another try as one night shouldn't define a restaurant.
Wonderful experience with great food and lovely wines.
Thoroughly enjoyed a long lazy lunch celebration with a view of the harbour
Order welldone steak i got a rare steak i complaint and had to pay half the price of the rare steak i send back considering i didnt touch one piece of that steak. Not happy wont be going back there.
Fantastic service, nothing is to hard. Great, easy, quality dining. A special night or could be a regular place to enjoy a lovely meal.
Exquisite food, service & menu.highly recommended spot for lunch, 4 different offerings of oysters from deep south to far north. (go with the Bluff!).
A+
Delicious food and very good service. I had the Fish of the day and greens as a main and I loved it. Simple but really delicious. I went with a group of girlfriends and we had a wonderful time.
Oyster bar happy hour 3-6pm always a delight. $2 per Oyster (excluding Bluff Oysters), minimum of 6. Service was ok, waitress did nearly forget our 2nd cocktail order though.when there weren't many guests to entertain (restaurant wasn't THAT busy). By the time the drink arrived we had already finished eating.so. ️
How do you describe perfection other than "it's perfect"? Whether you're into amazing fresh and perfectly cooked seafood, succulent steak or lamb, or just great service and a great location, this is the place for you. Price? Yes, it's reassuringly expensive.
$14 for water…hmm…next. Foul play by the waitress…asking if we wanted sparkling or still. I refuse to believe there is no tap water at all in a bistro/restaurant. It really wasn’t about which kind of water that was offered, it was the audacity to charge $14 for water, especially to loyal, returning customers. What happened to support local? Lol.
Last but not least, there is always an Asian young male waiter with short hair who saw us every time but chooses to walk away and refuses to serve us every time when we were at the restaurant. Always hostile and always judging.
Maître d had a great knowledge of items on the menu that would be safe for coeliac (only a few things I couldn’t have!). Great menu, amazing meal and sides. Had the lamb which had a crisp edge while being tender, with a stuffed eggplant that complimented it brilliantly. Would highly recommend!
Great food and our waitress was absolutely lovely!
I had the eye fillet and it was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. One happy girl right here
My favourite place for oysters happy hour so far. Been there several times and will come again.
Great view, tasty food, good service, good value for money.
Beautiful scallops to start and then duck breast for main. Service was great, location and view was unreal. Highly recommend
Was really surprised by the poor quality of food considering the price. Steak was over cooked, sides were greasy and lacked flavor. Felt like it had lost his heart.
We went for my wife’s birthday. We had amazing service from Giordano and all the staff. The food was excellent. It is a place that we will definitely go back to. Thanks so much for the lovely experience.
I have eaten here for many years, and have almost always felt satisfied. Unfortunately today I can't say the same thing, We ordered the duck trio and fried onion rings as a starter. The first consisted of 3 duck-based preparations: parfait (very good) terrine (good if it wasn't for the half a centimeter of cold duck fat on top, which I would have preferred lightly melted with the torch at the table) sliced duck breast (insignificant done that way). As for the onion rings, they have always been very good but I disagree with the accompanying tabasco sauce - too sour and strong. Main dishes were good, spring lamb and duck breast with duck pie were well executed, small negative - the skin on the breast was gluey and hard to chew, I would have preferred it more crunchy. Dessert, Sicilian Cholate tart, very rich, based on chocolate and butter, was served stone cold with to much cocoa powder on top and a very lazy scoop of mascarpone straight out of the bucket, same for the cherry. I would have preferred it slightly warm and served with a Crème Anglaise. Positive note, the service, always impeccable and attentive, the Italian waiter brought a breath of joy.
Nice setting, and great place for a catch up over a drink. Service is not the friendliest in Auckland.
