Took in standard 1997 Hiace van. First go, the glass broke on install, second cracked a week later so when back. The third has been successful. Now find out the rubber used is not sitting right on top and water comes in. Worst, the water sits in the rubber and has started rusting the lip where is attached. Also scratched paint off when removing the windscreen. No reply when I emailed and called them to fix it. Very disappointed.

Smith & Smith have reschedule my appointment more than 4 times. I called to have my windscreen replaced early March 2019, it is now end of May 2019 and still no windscreen. I was lied to during my first call when they confirmed they had my windscreen glass in stock to receive a message a month later to say it coming from overseas and they will have to reschedule. So frustrating

Absolutely shocking service from Smith & Smith Penrose. They ordered the wrong windscreen for my car 3 times and strung me out for at least 2 and a half months for the repair. I left them and went with Novus instead, and my car was repaired in a week, so how hard was it? They didn’t even have the curtesy to call me and apologise for the hassles they caused me. If I had the option of giving them no stars, I would. Total incompetence.

It took my Back windshield replacement for 2months. So annoying! Then when they arrive at my home it was a wrong glass, what the heck! The quality of replacement is not so good, they didn't clean it properly. If you have other choices to avoid this company do so. Very terrible. If there is negative ratings that would be it.

Good service, booked in an appointment with the technician - I had to wait 1 week as the glass needed to be ordered.

Only issue was the price. Over $400 to replace the small side window is extremely expensive.
I dont know if i would use Smith & Smith in future purely because of the price.

Used these guys on three occasions to get a couple of windshields and a side window replaced. This was primarily because I had a friend who worked here and recommended their service.

The repairs were satisfactory and done to a good finish however they didn't have the right glass in stock on two of the occasions which was annoying as they didn't tell me this until I went to pick up my car at the agreed time only to find out they hadn't even begun the work so I had to leave and come back the next day. Also on one occasion one staff member told me that my car was ready for pickup which I found out on arrival it wasn't as they were "very busy" so I ended up waiting around for 2 more hours just so they could catch up. Not the best experience.

Due to this I am uncertain whether or not I would personally use them in the future, however regardless recommend confirming details multiple times before arranging a repair as the left hand doesn't necessarily talk to the right hand at this company.

WOULD NEVER USE THESE GUYS AGAIN HAVE LEFT A MASSIVE SCRATCH DOWN THE SIDE OF MY DOOR AND THEN TRIED MAKING OUT THAT IT WAS ALREADY THERE, SERVICE WAS SHOCKING AS IT TOOK 3 TIMES TO GET THE RIGHT GLASS ORDERED FOR MY CAR AND JUST SHOCKING COMMUNICATION, WANT THIS SORTED ASAP!

Brought my in for a windscreen replacement - not only did the lads replace the windscreen they cleaned the glass all round and gave the old girl a vacuum, (which was really needed) and to cap it all off left a handful of toffees on the passenger seat - great service guys, thank you.

I brought in my company car to fix two chips. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. They showed me the chips and clearly advised how long it would take to repair.
There is a waiting room and you can have coffee or tea which is nice.
The repairs were done before the allocated time and I was happy with the job.

This store botched my sons repair and then had the cheek to overcharge him for the replacement. I'd give no stars. Don't come to this store, incompetent. They guarantee their work but when it comes down to it, this is a load of bull.

These guys are very professional and efficient. My rental vehicle was broken into, but they handle these negative situations with empathy and patience.

Polite, fast and efficient.
They done a great job of replacing the front windscreen on my motor home. They went the extra mile by adding 5 new label holders (on a angle) so that the contents can be removed easily.and placed the labels at a lower level so it doesn't obstruct passengers view, which is a bonus. Exceptional service! Thanks Smith and Smith for supplying us with some top guys

Nice employees. They could not fix our already "fixed" chip cause a guy in Kaikoura made a really bad job, but they helped us to find a solution.

This is the 2nd time I've had my van with these guys for window repairs, the boss there is very helpful and informative. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. Cheers for the great service!
