Sun World Chinese Restaurant reviews
73 Very expensive for food quality. They charged$2.50 tea for 3 years old boy who didn't drink any. The garlic chive dumplings and ha guo are too expensive $11.90, other dishes are $10.90 with small portion.
I came to talk with the cashier lady, she said it is rule here, very disappointed.
Never come back
Expensive food with rude service
Quality of food is bad
Over priced
Cypress on Dominion Road is cheaper with better quality food
Chow Foo in Pakuranga is good for both food quality and price.
Great food very yummy yum char menu. Great range of specialty dishes that are sun worlds signature dishes. Great for lunch and dinners. Quick if you want to be in and out to move on. But no pressure if you want to chill and relax too. Live tank seafood if you want super fresh dishes.
The overall experience left me extremely unhappy. Firstly, I was disappointed with the quality of the dishes. Not only were they not sufficiently hot, but they were also excessively greasy.
Furthermore, there was an issue during the payment process. The server actually gave us incorrect change. Such a mistake not only left me confused but also gave me an impression of unprofessionalism and dishonesty.
Don't know why it's become so expensive here now? We recently went for the yum cha, but since the tally sheet was in chinese, i dunno how they do their sums. I kinda figured the final sum sorta tallied - but still really expensive now. Same comment from my mates. Food is still great. Gotta save up for a next visit, lol.
Food quality is inconsistent, last time was better. I wont go out of my way to come here as its not easy to find parking.
Highly recommend some special dishes! I really like the garlic ribs and steamed blue cod I ordered this time very fresh
We went to have lunch on public holiday and the service was horrible. We forgot our bag in the restaurant, when we called they refused to let us come back to check, said they closed until 5: 00 pm. We circled back anyway and saw the place was still opened. When we asked if they saw our back they said No but the bag was right at the counter. Then when we asked for it back they request us to give them money to take it back. I have never came across such a dodgy restaurant. On top of that the food wasn’t what great and pricy. Would never come back ever again
We went there for YumCha. Food was just ok, nothing was special, and some were below average. Tea was too strong and tasted like medicine, and so we asked hot water instead as we could not drink at all. They could do better for food, service, and hygiene. Overall, I prefer other places for YumCha.
Pretty average service, were asked the same thing over and over again by different staff. Foods good but had better, no atmosphere so 3 stars for that
The service attitude is very poor. It's not a problem if you are close, but what is "Are you blind and can't see the sign? " is the old lady at the counter. I will never come again in the future, and I would advise everyone I know not to come again. People who read this comment can think about whether they really want to drink tea under such anger. This isn’t the place you go to for ambience. It’s pretty busy at peak hours for Yum Cha and if you decide to dine, go with an appetite. Order your faves, eat, have some tea and leave. It’s not a place I’d recommend for a “nice” dinner or lunch. You go here if you want a quick bite with a friend and then go about your business. Don’t expect 5-star service either. The food is strictly what you go here for.
Being treated as a poor and not having money in my card. Such a funny way to treat your customers. Check your staff attitude.
Excellent place for an easy long lunch. The food keeps coming in trolleys, and you simply take what you want.
Great yum cha menu. Delicious, actually. Can get incredibly busy but usually lots of staff. Recommended.
Great place for yumcha. Pretty impressed with the BBQ pork bun with generous amount of fillings. Also try their siu mai, prawn dumplings and steam glutinous rice
I understand that they are short staff but that does not mean to be okay being rude. But one lady made us laugh to have food from her cart even she cannot communicate with us in English. I gave you 2 stars because of the happy lady intead of 1 star.
Food is decent but service is slooooooow. Arrived at 6pm and ordered by 6.15pm. First dish only comes out at 7.30pm.seriously considered leaving. Staff not even apologetic
Came for yum cha at 2: 00 on Saturday. One of the reasons we picked here as restaurant is not busy, we felt safer.to my surprise the restaurant is dirty and staff is careless. It’s shame used to be a high profile busy restaurant: (won’t come back again. The time when we were there, there are more staff then customers, but seems none bothers.
This is my usual yum char place. Today was by far the worst time ever going servers were all new people and didnt seem interested in telling us what they were serving and when asked to bring more that's when the rudeness started. Will change review if I go back and things have changed if I go back.
