The food is always good but the service consistently awful. And they will not allow more than one payment per table unlike every other restaurant in town. We were there last night and, while all the little places on Khyber Pass were packed, Sun World was virtually empty. No complaints on the food but maybe their business would improve if they cared more about their customers than their own convenience.

Have been here a number of time. Just had lunch with my family a couple of days ago. The restaurant was pleasant and sitting was comfortable. Not too crowded this day. The service was friendly and efficient. Good portion of food and taste was good. A good place for yum cha. Recommended if you are around the area and looking for a place for yum cha.

Who doesn't love yum cha! Currently food service is pre order once seated rather than the usual carts to choose from (due to COVID), but still a great food experience.

Biggest rip off ever encountered. Noodles with "mixed vegetables". $26 and only about 1% vegetable of a little onion and bean sprout. Totally dishonest, don't waste time here

This was one of my favourite Yum Cha places, but today the service was not good, took forever for the food to come and the waiting area certainly needs cleaning up. Food was acceptable though.

Fair
Not very special

Definitely value for the money

Affordable Yum Cha place, good for families to enjoy a big meal with a reasonable price

This is my preferred place if I craved for dim sum occasionally. I was skeptical when I read the reviews about their standard after the chg of ownership. In my opinion it's the same, dumpling has big cut of prawns, taste fresh and no fridge freezed taste. The egg tarts were good, BBQ pork pie is good, no fatty meat.

I don't mind about the price as if the dim sum are nice. Pig trotters were stiff, chives dumpling skin were tore apart. Overall the dim sum are overpriced. First and the last.

As many have said before me, this is a very good place for dim sum. The long lines prove this. Best to come when they are busy, your sure to get the best veraiety. If you're more into vegetarian options, I recommend ordering off the menu. Staff are happy to accommodate special orders though you may need to wait longer to get served. Well worth it!

Overpriced with low service. Missed the days of old when food was amazing and a real talking point.

Overpriced, unpleasant service and most importantly, very disappointing food. Dumplings were so soggy and breaking apart - it was impossible to pick them up in one piece from the dim sum tray. They also tasted old. When we complained, the floor manager insisted that there was nothing wrong with the food. Sticky rice was not sticky at all - just a ball of sushi rice. Sun World used to be our go to place for yum cha but after our recent experience, we will never return again.

New owner and the yum cha tasted bit different.
I liked the previous owner she was lovely and friendly.
The restaurant was not full at 12pm on Saturday. It was full and people were waiting for the seats outside from the opening till about 2pm before.
Sadly, I won't go back again.

Sorry but hands down the worst yamcha experience I've had. Bad service and some of their food tasted like reheated frozen food. Not sure if it's their standard was too low or my expectation was too high. I've been to plenty of yamcha around nz so adamant it's their standard.

Went for Yumcha, the service is quick and efficient, the steamed prawn dumplings are light but you never get enough per dish.

Overall the quality of the food has been consistently good the 5 times I've dined in.

Excellent place to have yum cha. Unfortunately most of the other places that do yum cha (that used to be great) haven't been doing so well, so this is my go-to place now.

Yumcha was delicious. Fire alarm went off elsewhere in the building soon after we were seated. They evacuated well, offered eftpos on footpath for those who wanted to leave. Resumed after fire engines left and had the pre-ordered food to our table pronto. Very organized.

Was our first time dining at this establishment, we were not best pleased to say the least. Our booking was at 11: 30am (not too busy) but we struggled to gain a waiter/waitress attention to place our food and drinks orders. We BYO wine, which was taken by waiter when we asked for wine glasses? He told us he took the bottle so that it could be kept cold, but it was already cold and we just wanted wine glasses so we could open our wine? We ordered Sprite lemonade for the non alcoholic drinks but were told there was none available. We asked for the dipping sauces of chilli oil and soy sauce, to which we were told in a rude way "are over there just get it yourself" the customer service of this restaurant is yet to be desired, to say the least.the food was ok, not above average and did not make up for the bad service. Beef spare ribs were nice, pork spare ribs were tough, steamed prawn dumplings were falling apart (either overcooked or overfilled) shiumai was tasty and fried prawn dumplings were nice. I would not recommend this restaurant.

My first yumcha at Sunworld wasn’t really impressing. Long queue and overall price was slightly higher and the space between tables were very tight and limited. Fried squid and fried carrot cake that we ordered that day had a very strong oil smell which suggested that they didn’t change their frying oil regularly or maybe just over-fried? Other food was alright, porridge meh but their yam dumplings are real good. Services were quite decent.

Food was average. My son bowl of rice took long time to come. When it arrive he accidently knock it and went on the floor. We showed the waitress and she said okay and went away. Did not attempt to make us feel like it was accident. Did not try and clean it up it was just left on the floor while we continue to eat. We still had to pay for the rice which we wouldn't of minded but it was just the attitude we got. I reminded them as we left it might not happened if you had not brought the rice out to late. There was on 7 people so they were not run off their feet.
