Great place to eat fresh seafood by the marina. I had fish bites and chips
Crisp batter, clean oil made this plate delicious. Service was good. Nice atmosphere

Swashbucklers was humming with a full sized crowd for a Wednesday night so I'd make sure to book first. I enjoyed the food & the staff were attentive throughout.

Great staff, the vibe feels great by the water/pier, and the food is good. You can order from the bar menu (fresh and fried) or from the restaurant side menu (fresh), eat inside or outside.

For myself I had the $30 bar menu seafood platter. Seriously it is a ton of food for one person. Great value and taste.

Awsome atmosphere. Staff are really friendly and bubbly. We all wer enjoyed the food too. Highly recommended.

Awesome food and service in the function room for a birthday. The pirates platter and the steak with mushroom sauce were delicious. It's very busy 12-2pm so there were barely any parks in the car park otherwise you can park at Wilson's across the road.

After dining here for the better part of 20 years, our last 3 visits have compelled me to leave a negative review.

We've been talked down to by frazzled, hostile serving staff (once by the maitre d), just because we had the nerve to order from the restaurant menu but sit outside!

The last time, we were shouted at, that no one was going to hover over us so we'd need to get their attention when we wanted our mains. Then they proceeded to bring out all our meals within minutes of each other. We had to fight birds, there was so much unattended food.

What the heck difference does it make where we want to sit if we're spending a few hundred dollars on food and drink?

Stay away until they get themselves sorted.

We had a platter between 4 of us as per photo. It is a 3 person platter. Even though it was pleasant I don't think I will return its very expensive.i would hv preferred seperate meals this worked out to about $40 for 3 people. And I was still hungry after. We had to pay extra for calamari which was such a tiny amount we added it onto the platter

Love this place, consistently good food, great service, plenty of parking, highlight watching the stingrays coming up to feed.

Staff seem disinterested, flat drinks, food was ok, need to improve customer service. Giving it 1 star because was expecting so much more on my first visit to a place that people were raving about. Won't be back nor will my family.

A heavily seafood based pub. Pay at the counter kind of service. Lots of outside seating overlooking some of the harbour. Staff looked like they didn't want to be there.

Went there for a stag doo, about 20 of us, they were insanely fast with the massive food platters which were awesome, cool venue if you planning the same or want an excellent seafood menu

Well the atmosphere and location is good.but bar counter is small and have to wait in line to get my drink. Bar counter needs to be upgraded and should have more staff during Xmas holiday period

Great spot, staff couldn’t be nicer, the fish and chips were very nice and plentiful. Lots of fun conversation and atmosphere both in the bar and restaurant. Definitely unique interior with lots of surprises. Handy if you just want a bar snack, they do nice seafood baskets. Plenty of seating inside and out. We parked in Ponsonby and walked across the motorway from Jacobs ladder to Swashbucklers.

Absolutely appalled by the service and by the intoxicated owner (Older Man) of Swashbucklers Auckland.
My family (including my kids) and our friends (including their kids) was told to leave and "the elderly man was shouting at me and telling me they dont need our F*&%ing business and we must get out - very aggressive intoxicated man". All because I asked if they can pour a fresh L&P cool drink because red wine spilt in it when the bartender was pouring the wine. The cool drink was for our 5 year old?    WTH.
I was then asked my nationality. No idea why - what has where I come from have to do with me asking for a freshly poured L&P cool drink?
Never have we ever been so embarrassed and treated like dogs from any restaurant.
I will never put foot back at Swashbucklers Auckland again and will spread this appalling experience to everyone so that they never experience what we did tonight.

To the intoxicated owner / manager on duty - you are no example to your staff. #Norespect!
