Swashbucklers Restaurant & Bar reviews
80Nice little pub by the docks. Wedges were delicious! Parking tough to find. Find a table outside to watch the boats but beware of the birds.
Real casual dining. Found it little pricy thou for casual dining place. I got seafood platter for 2 to share & it cost $80.00. Friendly staff. Ok place but I was moved by the dining experience.
Seafood platter for four was devoured and loved by all. Wonderful service - even tipped the waitress and I never do that. Haha.
Came here for looking for a good seafood meal and was not disappointed! I recommend the pirate platter for anyone that wants their share of seafood and wants to leave full.
Good food, service and choice of wine. Only knocked off a star as cannot get the restaurant food outside.
Easy parking and outdoor seating. Would be great as a brunch venue.but also no, settled for great (albeit Auckland expensively priced) calamari and a beer, at 11am!
Not a great experience party of 3 2 had finished before the 3rd got his lunch and that was after asking 4 waiters to find out what the problem was
Very busy night. Manager was very pleasant, efficient and helpful. Great menu, good service and superb meals. Will definitely return.
Ahh this place reminds me of Noah’s Ark. All wooden and creaky. That pretty much sums up the ‘70’s decor, the staff and most of my fellow diners in the restaurant.
If you know how to wear brown shoes with a yellow shirt and don’t mind lack lustre service and below average food this is the place for you!

Some of us have grown up.
We did not have a reservation but arrived by 6pm hoping to beat the dinner rush. The gracious host squeezed us in. Our server was cordial, friendly and very knowledgeable. We did try calling around 430pm but got a voice message. We looked on the website and TripAdvisor and could not see if reservations were required. We are grateful for the seating and the excellent food our last night in New Zealand. I had been wanting to try the famous green lipped mussels. They were delicious!
This mythical haunt is rife with the stench of sea shantys and the jaffa pirates among us. Show up for one.stay for a lifetime!
Nice staff, and the seafood was okay, but what really made our experience poor was the kids menu. One of ours ordered chicken nuggets (fussy, I know). They got the kind of thing your expect from the worst sort of greasy fish shop, not a restaurant. Dark brown, gritty meat, and salty as all get out. Good chips though.
Nice change from busy viaduct. Great wines and nice marina views. Ok outdoor b.c. And indoor seating.
Great food and an excellent location. Love going there for with a bar lunch or for a fantastic dinner experience.
It is okay. Not that great. The batter around all battered fish dishes is so much. Almost more than the fish itself. I left almost all the batter on my plate.
Great place for a few drinks after work. Rustic interior and heaps of seating outside. Nice food and a good variety of bar snacks. Huge stingray that live below the wharf there and eat the scraps. 4 stars only because the price is up there. Reasonable for this end of town i guess.
One of my favourites, a great beer, fish and chips venue or a very nice restaurant with excellent outdoor seating on a nice day.
I love the seafood at this place always high quality and the beer is super cold, myself and my friend tried the tuna steak medium rare but sadly it was overcooked, I'm still looking for a good tuna steak restaurant in Auckland
