Pacifica Restaurant reviews
62Top notch service & food. Absolutely nothing to complain about. We loved the whole experience and it is well worth a visit!
Visiting from Australia and chose Pacifica for its 3 hat rating. We were certainly not disappointed! Wonderful food with flavours that always complemented the dish. We did the wine pairing as well, and all wines were perfectly matched with the corresponding dish and we got to try some wines that were different to what we had encountered before. The service was friendly but professional. The restaurant is set in a quaint little cottage that adds to the ambience. Highly recommended.
We dined here on the night of 2nd Sept. The staff delivered attentive services and we felt welcomed and looked after. Food was a great display of local produces, exceptional value for money. We look forward to dining again when we visit Napier next time.
My husband and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary here after a friend recommended it to us and I'm so glad we took her advice.
The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Consistently the best dining experience in Hawkes Bay. Incredible how they keep coming up with new, interesting and just absolutely delicious combos all the time. Topped off by friendly, humble service. Would give more stars if I could.
The food was quality with layers The service was relaxed pleasant well presented with heart.
Beautiful food and atmosphere, definitely up there (if not better) than any Michelin stared restaurant I’ve been to. Cannot believe how affordable the menu was when comparing to the quality of food we ate. Wine list on point also.
Thank you for a great NYE dinner!
Don't go for the meat option, it's just terrible, my wife had the seafood option and it was really nice. The courses came out really quickly, would have expected better from.a place that charges that much for the set menu. There are better options in Napier - Avoid.
Has a UK visitor to NZ for several weeks we continue to be overwhelmed by this beautiful country and its ever giving experiences. This restaurant and owners Jeffrey and Natalie along with their staff gave us an incredible evening of gastronomic delights the choice of fish or meat menus were simply superb. As a group of friends we chose both and were not disappointed combining incredible ingredients from the imaginative chef Jeffrey and to our knowledgeable Natalie with the appropriate wine to match each dish. We were all blown away with each dish which were expertly described by the staff and we could not wait to try each and every successive dish which simply did not disappoint. Three michelin stars all the way and at a price that beggars belief! We arrived at the restaurant expectations running high and we were not disappointed what a fantastic experience simply the best.
This is a fantastic restaurant and incredible value for money for the quality of the ingredients.
This is what you reserve 5 stars for, where there are not enough superlatives to describe the food. Each of the 5 courses, we chose the fish, gently progressive in subtle taste that enhances a true experience of gustation. Love how it is so understated. One of the best I've experienced in New Zealand (and elsewhere).
Such a lovely evening. Beautiful fresh food and wine pairing. Staff super attentive and knowledgeable.
Intimate.
We spent a while trying to decide which adjective best describes our meal at Pacifica tonight. In the end, we decided on ‘Genuine’. The food tells a story and is all incredibly genuine. Amazing flavours and perfect wine pairings that didn’t just compliment the dishes but elevated and transformed them. Compliments to the whole team on their vision and professionalism.
This is by far the best restaurant experience we have had in a long time. We had the seafood degustation. Each course was amazing. There were intricate layers of delightful flavours throughout each dish. We went the matching wines and the presentation was exceptional with each dish accompanied by a beautiful NZ wine. The dish and wine were explained very well by the exceptional staff. You will be forever disappointed if you go to Napier and don't eat at Pacifica!
We travelled from Auckland for this Restaurant as we had heard so much about it.
Everything was superb, the Service, the wait time, and then the Food and Wine Matching were equal to anything we have tried in the top restaurants in Auckland, in Queenstown, Wellington, and Sydney and Melbourne.
It was a genuine pleasure to dine here.
Thankyou Jeremy, Natalie and Arlene
Not all courses were created equal but overall very enjoyable food. Staff were great and atmosphere lovely.
The seafood degustation with wine match is exceptional. Jeremy has managed to take uniquely kiwi flavors from our childhood and elevate them to exceptionally fine dining. The paua in particular was incredible. It is in the higher price point, but your tastebuds will thank you! Highly recommend to locals and visitors alike. Will definitely be back.
A truly incredible fine dining experience! We were fortunate to grab a last minute booking when visiting Napier from Australia and had the seafood degustation with wine pairing. My husband and mother in law delighted in seeing their kiwi favourites transformed into art through the chef's magic, such as fry bread, creamed paua, rhubarb and white chocolate. The staff were lovely and the wine pairings were explained beautifully. Thanks for a fantastic evening and a highlight of our trip!
More hype than substance. The service was great, but portions in the 5 course seafood degustation were tiny, with mostly foam or small amounts of soup and little to fill you. Like many other reviewers have stated, we also left hungry and had to eat again elsewhere.
A couple of the (tiny) dishes were nice, however, some were very disappointing - like a glorified half onion in wine sauce.
If you're planning to have the degustation menu, think of it as a 5 course entree and plan to have a proper meal somewhere afterwards.
If I had to eat baked beans and toast for the rest of my life, that would be okay, because I've just had the best dinner I've ever had in my 59 years. Seriously wow!
