VTNZ Palmerston North - Rangitikei Line reviews
54This place looks like a North Korean military camp! I'm here for the first time and definitely will not be here again the second time. You are not allowed to stay inside, and all seats are moved outside, rude staff (except a kind lady). I know the strains in Wellington, and I thought they have the same standard. No way.
Took my motorbike in for a Wof and they failed the front brake pads due to excessive wear. I told the inspector that those are brand new pads and were only fitted late last year so they did only about 1600kms since new, he refused to believe me. I took it to a motorcycle mechanic who took the front brakes off and showed me that the pads are still near brand new with almost no wear. I phoned the branch and told them that it was checked by a motorbike mechanic but they still refused to believe me. I wasn't in the mood to take it back and argue with them so ended up taking it to VTNZ Whanganui in which the inspector there was confused as to why it was failed as he said to me "there's still heaps left on those pads".
I came in to book my full license test. An older lady on reception, (with mousy brown hair in a bob haircut. The only one wearing a mask) was extremely rude to deal with. She hardly even acknowledged my presence. She carried on talking with another man who was working there, mostly just gestured for me to pass her things, and when she did engage with me, she was very unfriendly. She charged me, and then said "when that arrives in the mail, then you can book your full license". I had no idea what I had just paid for. But now I see she had just renewed my restricted. Fair enough, that my restricted was nearly out of date, but she should have at least explained this to me.
Absolutely avoid this place for taking your driving exam. Feel like they need to maintain a certain failing rate (? 50-60%) for keeping the queue long and cash coming in. The examiners are definitely professional liars, making stuff up to fail drivers. No wonder they need to disconnect the dash cam during exams.
Should change there hours to finish 30mins before close as no services available after then
The brunette working in there this morning was incredibly rude - not my fault your signs are unclear and that you have a very small driveway and the other branch is closed. You seemed to be having a bad morning I guess and took it out on me as a customer when I was simply just trying to get my vehicle WOF'd at a branch I've never used before. My preference is the Tremaine Ave branch and after today's experience it is incredibly clear why people prefer that branch, the bad feedback of this place is all true and matches my experience today. Interestingly as more cars pulled into the queue behind me and did exactly what I had done, no one came out to tell them off for supposedly getting it wrong. No one said a thing. So maybe if you expect customers to get it right, instead of telling them off like the brunette did to me, make your signage and cones clearer! Judging by how many people made the same mistake I did, it is definitely unclear and not the customers fault. But I was the only one (and I was there 1.5hours - the wait was not the issue at all) that got a telling off - why? Anyway hope she felt better after taking it out on me. Customers - DO NOT COME HERE. Reception staff (a customer's first point of contact) are beyond RUDE.
Only giving 1 star because Nitin who completed the actual WOF was lovely to deal with, the kind of service you expect as standard, otherwise would give no stars if I could.
Always short staffed spend forever in line or told you're going to have to go somewhere else. Customer service is pretty average
Ignorant. Lacks communication skills big time. Didn't tell me until we had sat in the queue for 45 minutes and only one car had gone through from both lanes that they were short staffed. Learned this is typical of the place. Care less customer service. Don't waste your time. You only get one life. Go elsewhere.
Workers are not in a rush actually think they don't want a job. 1.5 hrs in que behind 4 cars then come back for recheck of 2 new tyres back in the line for 2 hrs.not coming back.
Dont ask for me to fill in feedback on your website you should send in some mystery shoppers to see how bad the service is
Please do not go here for your driving test. They are just making money by failing the test and giving lame reason. Please use AA Fielding for your test.
Especially Ricky the assessor did not give proper explanation as to why I failed and when I said It is not right he started to raise his voice.
Not happy, been sitting here since 11.45am and car only half way thru WOF check. Is 1.10pm now. This is ridiculous and so frustrating.
Do NOT SUPPORT this place the Discrimination is not exceptabull have been refused service for having a medical exemption and can not where a mask have tolk to legal and now VTNZ are going to owe hundreds of thousands in competition
To wait 2.5 hours, not allowed a toilet stop being a covid restriction, and $65 wof for a senior is not acceptable.
The worst customer service I have experienced. Not once or twice, but three different times. Rude, unhelpful ladies in reception who make you feel like you are an inconvenience. I will never visit this place again. I feel so sorry for our young people who have to go to this place to sit their drivers licence. I witnessed the unprofessional, rude attitude of the women that work there, these young people are nervous enough without the attitude of the staff there. Reading reviews on here dating back 12 months.very similar comments about the rudeness of those ladies. Clearly VTNZ you do not take these reviews serious, you have not replaced nor retrained those rude women who are doing an injustice to your company!
Rude staff and definitely not customer focused, all work environments are stressful and busy, but customers keep you employed, i hope this gets to the right management people.
Bunch of catty, rude Karens in the office. I'm sure the mechanics are fine but the service from the receptionists is rude and unprofessional.
Not that great my husband had to wait just about all of his lunchbreak and they said they couldn't fix the error they printed on his license without calling Ltnz which would take about 20mins. We had to leave as he had to go back to work.
Grumpy staff members who make you feel like you're doing them a service and not the other way around
Worst customer service ever! Completely agree with the feedback about the ladies behind the front counter.
Called to see how long wait was. Was told only 4 cars so can get straight in. Got there 5 mins later and 4 cars parked up with signage that said they were too full with 4 cars and go back another time
