Wairau River Wines Cellar Door & Restaurant

Our group of 15, in Blenheim for Garden Marlborough, enjoyed a wonderful lunch at WR Wines. The staff were very accomodating, the soufflē, salads, desserts and wines were delicious. We'll be back!

A favorite! Our go to place for consistently delicious food and great service. The setting is wonderful and whether dining inside or out - it is a treat.

We arrived an hour and a half before our table booking, and only 10 minutes before the end of morning tea service, yet the staff at Wairau River Wines were super accomodating and had no issues with us taking a last minute morning tea. We were seated at our table and received attentive service throughout the day as other tables came and went.
When it was time for lunch, all three of us were blown away. Flavour and presentation were particularly notable for the chilli salt prawns and the pork salad. The salads that came with each of these were just delicious. The pork was so tender and juicy.
I’ll leave it at that for food talk, needless to say this was the most enjoyable meal of our two weeks in NZ (and notably felt more welcoming, nourishing and better value than some fine dining down the road)

Staff were attentive and friendly. Menu was relatively small but offered something for everyone and the food was delightful in its presentation and extremely tasty.
We shared desserts as it was difficult to choose.
Indoor / outdoor dining is available, we chose outside under the vines.

Another superb lunch at Wairau River and friends very impressed with food, wine and service. Everything we have tried on the menu is delicious but my favourite is the Chilli Prawns with salad that is a taste explosion:)

Lovely day for a wine and the food looked amazing, as a part of my sperm donation world tour, stopped here for a quick game of botchi, nice venue.

Food was delicious and efficient service. A beautiful ambience with seating outside near the vines.

We had a lovely lunch last week at Wairau River. The service was excellent, the food fabulous and the wine even better. A great place for lunch if you want more then a platter. Would highly recommend and will most definitely be visiting again soon.

This just has to be the best winery for lunch in Marlborough.
The food is superb - we thoroughly recommend the Twice Baked Souffle and the Chilli Prawns. The accompanying salads are perfectly matched and delicious.
We cannot fault Wairau River - their wines are jolly good too!

Wairau never disappoints! I have been going there for 25 - 30 years (since shortly after they opened). Food, wines, service always excellent. It's a wonderful restaurant inside and out. Outside dining is on the edge of a vineyard. What a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon. In winter it's warm and cozy inside with a roaring fire. I have recommended many times and never had a complaint.

Excellent food, great service and good selection of drinks. A great place for good quality lunch.

Pate, Duck pancakes and prawns are delish.pity they had run out of their reserve Chard but the Syrah is a great drop!

Absolutely best winery and food! Been to them all and hands down the service and food stands out above the others. Staff are fabulous service is great and make sure you go here rather than the other wineries.

Being the lucky recipients of a birthday voucher for Wairau River restaurant from the kids, we headed there yesterday, after making a hazel free on line booking,
We arrived and were greeted by friendly and interested staff and given various options for seating, as it was windy we opted for indoors.
We started with a glass of the lovey bubbles, while selecting a dish.
We opted for a shared duck leg pancake, (something I wouldn’t create at home), delicious, and a great way to serve.
We then had the Salmon dish with a mash and a beautiful salad, accompanied by a glass of Gruner Veltliner, yummm.
We were looked after by friendly knowledgeable, helpful staff, the portions were very generous,

would highly recommend this restaurant.

Food is consistently delicious and fresh. Table service was excellent, thanks Issie. A friendly greeting at a very busy time of the day goes a long way so thanks everyone, front of house, Issie and the kitchen for another amazing lunch.

Such a beautiful spot! The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was super tasty. Our whole group was happy with their meals and was raving about it afterwards. There is a great wine list providing options and price points for everyone. Looking forward to visiting again.

Just stunning, food was so delicious, wine was beautiful & the service was just amazing! Exactly what we were after, highly recommend coming here for lunch, can't imagine anyone would be disappointed here
