Wairau River Wines Cellar Door & Restaurant reviews
77Took the family last Saturday. I don't often write reviews, but I'm pleased to have the opportunity, because the food and service were excellent. The restaurant was fully booked, and I thought we'd be kept waiting for service, but no, from the moment we were seated we were looked after attentively by a lovely young girl who was friendly and very efficient. Best winery lunch I've had in my two years in Blenheim and will definitely be back.
Great experience here - lovely setup, brilliant customer service, delicious food and wines. Highly recommend!
Devine Blue Cheese soufflé, superb Rose, beautiful surroundings, wonderful service made our day. Thank you
The food was quite good, had the yummy chowder on a rainy cold day, it hit the spot. Super kid friendly. Wines are quite good too!
Took my mum here for lunch on her birthday.
Service and food was amazing! All the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The food and drinks was tasty and filling! I would totally come back:)
We had a delicious lunch at Wairau River and the staff were lovely. Karaage chicken burger was a winner and special shout out to Lynette who looked after our group and tolerated our behaviour
With our work we travel alot and eta out alot. This would be the best money for value meal we have eaten in a long time. It was absolutely amazing food and lovely friendly staff to go with it. Highly recommend
A cozy & stylish place to visit for a lunch on a wintery day. We enjoyed sitting next to the fire place & having a glass of wine while waiting for our food.
Fast & very friendly service considering a amount of people dining for Sunday lunch.
Highly recommend the duck curry & the brown sugar pav is the best I ever had.
Very nice meal. Recommend the Brown Sugar Pavlova. Not too sweet. The Prawns had just the right amount of heat from the chillies. Staff were lovely and friendly.
Stunning day in Blenhiem and as always beautiful food at Wairau River.
Blue cheese souffle is delicious
What an awesome experience, staff awesomeness, food epic and the wine fabulous. A must visit when you next come to Blenheim.
Was an amazing place. Called in on a whim, staff awesome, cheese platter yummmmmmy, as you can see half eaten. Loved the drinks. Thank you for a warm welcome and experince
Lovely winery, we were early so they had breakfast menu, only had tea and hot chocolate, the place is quite nice and cosy with lots of space, felt very comfortable. Beautiful outdoor area!
Great hospitality.sat by the fire and thoroughly enjoyed wine sampling and a fantastic chowder. Rest of the menu looked great too!
We had lunch here and food was very good. Recommend the duck salad and affagato. Main meal was a little slow in coming but service was friendly. Everything else arrived in good time. Would definitely go back.
Excellent food, and service. Limited menu and not warm enough. But worth a stop and the wine is nice also
We enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Wairau winery today
The food was outstanding, I had the prawns with a lovely salad. My husband raved about his lamb burger and my mother-in-law said her chicken croquettes were absolutely delicious. The deserts were superb. Definitely best lunch we’ve had around Blenheim. Pretty well priced as well
Worst service and human interaction experienced in New Zealand. In a country of such polite people and friendly people I have never been treated so rudely until visiting this winery today. Highly recommend if you don’t mind being treated like dirt
The mussel chowder and WR Burger were amazing. This is a nice spot to get a good meal on the tasting trail. It does seem to get a bit noisy and crowded compared to other local spots, though, and the tasting room was pretty chaotic when we were there.
