Another outstanding lunch at Wairau River restaurant. Our favourite place to take friends from out of town as we know the food and service will always be first class! The prawns re to die for and the brown sugar pavlova with lemon curd and berry coulis was superb.

We dined here for lunch whilst on a bike tour of the local vineyards. We had the prawn salad and beer battered chips to share and the food was unreal. The wine was delicious and the staff were very knowledgeable. We bought a bottle of their wine which had a 20% discount when you dined with them so very reasonably priced. Wonderful place and would highly recommend.

Wairau River was a standout in our visit to Blenheim. Excellent food, wine, and service. Our waitress (Dethyl) was fantastic.

Duck spring rolls, blue cheese souffle, pavlova, bread and dips all exceeded expectations.

Highly recommended.

The food was amazing. Not a very big selection for chilli allergies. Very loud when there are lots of people in.

Great service with helpful advice about the menu and wine choice. Food, outstanding flavours, we each had something different and full of compliments to the chefs. Why would you not want to eat at Wairau River!

We had a great lunch here. The environment is lovely, the food was delicious (I had the sashimi as a starter, and prawns for my main) and the service was excellent. This restaurant will be top of my list of places to eat when back in the area.

Always consistent and great service during busy times when not always easy to find staff - very accommodating about us adding an extra two to the table upon arrival. The cheese souflet a definite must, and mussel chowder a nice change from the norm, plus can't go past the prawns. Well done Rose family, a great spot to enjoy for years to come!

I organised for a group of 15 of us to have lunch at Wairau River Restaurant. We all enjoyed our meals, wine and sitting outside to dine and catch up. Staff were attentive and friendly. I was pleased to see the Blue Cheese souffle is still on the menu and was a lovely meal. Mary Griffiths

We try and make it to this vineyard whenever we visit from the UK. Our ferry sailings were changed a number of times and staff managed to still accommodate us and we had a brilliant, good value lunch with wine. Thank you to our Welsh waitress.

Thoroughly gorgeous food. Venue a bit barn-like, so lacking atmosphere. Service is young but keen. Facilities quality and tidy. Wine fine. But the food. Tremendous. Over $200 for lunch for two, so ouch expenny.

It was the best lunch I had the entire week I was in Marlboro. The staff was wonderful - friendly and knowledgable. The food was excellent. I'm a vegan and the salad was perfect. I will certainly go again when I return to the area.

This has been a family run restaurant for over 30 years and I've been coming since its inception. The Double Baked Souffle has always been my most favourite dish with its classic pear and parmesan salad and has featured as far as I am aware every day since the restaurant started. High quality food using seasonal and fresh local ingredients has always been a feature. Yesterday I resisted the souffle and had as a main, the cold smoked salmon sashimi salad which was absolutely delicious. It's a pleasure to report that I continue to love this place as much now as I always have and due to its superb menu that changes from time to time and friendly helpful staff, I believe there's not one person who would not find a dish to delight the tastebuds. Great food, great wine and excellent ambience.

The images of the restaurant, food and setting resulted in us trying Wairau and it did not disappoint. Quickly seated and watered, the staff were friendly and good for a yarn. We ordered their cheese board and their sticky, pork salad… along with a few glasses of wines. All 10/10, really quality food, the cheese board had generous portions and at $27 I think really good value. That pork salad was incredible! Had Vietnamese style dressing, slightly sweet but fresh, the sticky, pork belly was tender and perfectly seasoned and spiced. Wines we tried the rose, the reserve rose, the resiling and… a sparkling, from the reserve - all top shelf, complex on the nose, sassy character wines, just quality.

Once again, Wairau River didn't disappoint!
The Restaurant was extremely busy the week before Xmas, but the staff were still efficient and friendly.and we were pleased to see the souffle and prawns still on the menu as just as good as ever!
This just has to be the best winery for lunch in Marlborough.
The food is superb - we thoroughly recommend the Twice Baked Souffle and the Chilli Prawns. The accompanying salads are perfectly matched and delicious.
We cannot fault Wairau River - their wines are jolly good too!
