Ive brought in my Iphone 5 and an Motorola, one to have the screen fixed and the other one to have the usb-c charger changed.

The usb-c charger was going to take a couple of weeks, it took 5months and I got my phone back with a screen that was gosthing and a sorry that they couldn’t fix that in time.

My Iphone had a ghosting screen when they replaced it. I came back in, the guy told me it was the cpu and wouldve been another 350nzd. I asked around in town after which I found out its not the cpu, I told them its not the cpu, you have to give me a new screen. They opened it, said they connected it wrong and gave it back with the same screen. After one day I had the same problem. Due to me being in Auckland afterwards I had to get it fixed there.

When asking for my refund they couldn’t give me a cash refund and they assured me to put the money on one of my friends accounts.

The honest answer would’ve been: “we’ll just ignore your calls once you are abroad”

I wouldn’t touch this store with a stick

I got a replacement screen for my Android phone, the price was high but it came with a 6 month warranty that covered all replacement costs in the event of failure. The new replacement screen started failing intermettently on the first day. I called and reported this, but couldn't bring the phone back until the screen failed consistently. After 1.5 months it was now failing all the time, so I went back to GSM to get the screen replaced, but was told that they would not cover the replacement under warranty as I must have dropped the phone, even though that was not the case and it was failing from the first day.

Not going to lie it was a pretty bad experience had to wait like a month and 2 weeks just to get my pc back after they said it would take 2 weeks then found out I have to go back for the power cord because they forgot to give it and they had all the excuses in the world on why it wasn’t ready respectfully wouldn’t recommend. Sorry

Made the mistake of taking my phone to these guys. Screen not working. 10 month old a32. Quoted me 350 for a new screen. Came back to me saying problem was not the screen and it was a fault in the motherboard and would have to be sent away because they are not capable of the repair. The person they were sending it to was going to be on holiday for 2 weeks, so I opted to collect phone.
Screen smashed now.
Also got quoted 160 to replace screen today elsewhere
Thanks GSM
Never again

Took a phone in pre August. Paid $250 for repair. Another fault was found so the phone was not repaired. I was told I would receive a full refund less a small appraisal fee. That was August! Despite several emails, calls and even going in to their office, I am still waiting on the refund!

Be careful with these guys they use the water damage scenario as a get out of jail card! They caused an issue with my phone when they changed the screen when I went back they blamed water damage (this phone has never had water damage). I’ve recently changed the screen again from another shop and that fault has now gone! Which tells me the screen that they replaced was faulty and this was a genuine IPhone replacement screen too. Use Tech Zone!

Charged me $10 for a 30 second job with included a brief puff with air to clean the charging points. I was told by others that it should have been complimentary. Good way to lose your repeat business GSM!

Paid for an assessment.note you can find places to do this for free but I didn't find that out until afterward. Quoted a price to fix part of the motherboard. When I got alternative quotes, they came back nearly $300 less than GSMs quote! Plus, also found out that my iPad can get repaired as a warranty repair under the Consumer Act through Apple as it was not long out of the 2 year Apple warranty. Just some food for thought before you use GSM!

Over priced compared with same job wanted 100 more unacceptable in my opinion for a simple HDMI port change

I took my iphone 7 here for a battery replacement. When I came back to pick it up I was asked if the home button had been working when I dropped it off. Of course it was - if it hadn't been I would have asked for it to be repaired whilst they were replacing the battery. I was told they would have to replace the screen and when pushed said it would be at their cost. It was well after 5 o'clock when it was ready to be collected and they hadn't replaced the screen protector that my original screen had. After some reluctance they agreed to do this as well. By now it was nearly 6 and I had an hours drive to get home so when the home button didn't seem to be working like it should I decided I could live with it. However within 2 weeks the screen protector started to peel off and the screen itself wasn't as responsive as it should be so I decided the next time I went to Whangarei I would get it looked at by them. Last Saturday was the first time I could get back to Whangarei.
Well their response to my issues was worse than poor. The screen protector had no warranty? ! And the home button not working was water damage?
My phone has never been near water and the home button was working perfectly until they broke it. They tried to fob me off with photos of the water damage and what was supposedly my old screen (who keeps a broken screen for 6 weeks? And this screen had no protector on it and neither did it have the tiny chip that my old screen had) The man was absolutely rude - told me not to come back to his shop again.
Well don"t worry I wouldn't step foot in there again.
It would seem that their customer service and quality is all good when things go right but if they damage your goods whilst working on them don't look for them to fix their mistakes!

This is a re-edit of my initial review of this company. The day before yesterday I took my otherwise perfectly functional 13" mac laptop to GSM to replace a 4 year old battery. (I have used this company before and they were fantastic. I didn't realise they are now under new management). They informed me it would be done in an hour. I paid their quote, $250 in advance. When I returned to pick it up, the trackpad was suddenly not working. The employee, who wasn't so conversant in english told me the trackpad "was like that " when I brought it in. When I strongly disputed this, the technician left the room and returned with someone I took to be the business owner. This man told me the problem was that I was rushing them and told me to leave it with them overnight and he would have it fixed next morning. Next morning when I returned to pick up the computer it was in the same condition. No sign of the business manager. When I pointed out that they had broken a perfectly functional (expensive) computer, the technician simply shrugged and looked away. I asked them to put the old battery back in and give me my money back. When I went to another computer repair shop they told me the battery had been forced out too violently, the screen was also cracked and it would cost around $1000 for new trackpad and battery installed and it would have to be sent to Auckland under level 4. As a result, because I need my computer to earn my living, I had to buy a new machine. What really upsets me about all this is that these people, who understandably come here for a better life, are bringing such a dishonest flavour to the way we do business with each other in New Zealand. I will leave it at that. If you have a problem with your computer do NOT take it toGSM.

Overpriced and useless. Worst IT place in town. Misdiagnosed my computer and tried telling me that I needed to pay more money. Ripoff artists. They refuse to give refunds.

Awful service, no communication at all and staff member had a bad attitude. Tried to charge me double what they had originally quoted, and then charged me an 'assessment fee' which I had never agreed to! Would not recommend to anyone! Waited over a month to get my computer back!

Mum dropped her tablet here they didn’t respond to her messages or answer the phone, finally a lady emailed to say she told her it would be 2-4 weeks and was quite rude about it then at 5 weeks mum tried phoning again to find out what was going on and no answer, so we emailed and that was ignored and then emailed again to say forget it we would go elsewhere and that was also ignored. Definitely will not be recommending to anyone and have nothing good to say about their service. Finally today the insurance company has phoned to say actually the part came and they can’t fix it. The insurance company had better service. Hopeless. We also had to pay $50 for terrible service. And we wonder why we out source our business and don’t keep it local. Big shame for Whangarei.

Horrible service. Was told it would be done by a certain time, for a certain amount of money. It took twice as long and after getting my phone back, it had issues that it never had before.

GSM are refusing to take responsibility for this and now it will cost me another $100 or so to fix these NEW issues.

A phone repair place that told me they don't order parts for my Samsung phone. They told me I had to ring Samsung directly to get the parts myself. Like. Really? !? !

My Screen on my Mobile Smart Phone was Disappearing slowly over 2-3 weeks. Was told by my Data supplier that they could do it over a
another 2 week period at a cost of $600 (appx). A nice young lady put me on to GSM.
Within 24 hours My Phone is back in my hands at an extremely competitive rate.and looking as good / if not better than brand new.

GSM Solutions Ltd replaced my battery on my S7. First battery didn't hold its charge so GSM replaced it without issue as it was covered by 3 month warranty. No drama. Job well done.
I'd recommend this business for electronic device technical support & repair - my experience was a positive one.
