Helena Bay Cafe

Helena Bay Cafe has constantly provided top class food and service over the years. It is one of our highlights when we holiday in Northland. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and the view spectacular- on our recent holiday we needed to evacuate our holiday home and seek higher ground.

We drove to Helena Bay Cafe arriving over an hour before their scheduled opening time - the owners seeing our plight opened immediately and invited us in providing hospitality and food. Soon we were joined by many others and they were all received with the same warmth.

You are brilliant Helena Bay Cafe - your staff are fantastic and thank you so much for being so accommodating (and of course thanks for the great food)

What an amazing place. Fantastic food. Good coffee. Heaps of art. And if you're lucky you get to meet the resident puppy.

This is a hidden gem. Sitting nestled on the top of the hills over looking Helena Bay. We had a beautiful brunch sitting at a table with stunning views. There is a great Art Gallery next door in same building. Well worth the stop, highly recommend.

Lovely service, very friendly. Good cabinet selection and coffee. Menu has everything needed for breakfast and lunch.

Great little cafe situated in a lush forest. Super view of helena bay from the cafe. Great place to relax for some coffee and lunch and has a good collection of arts and crafts in the gallery section too. A must visit if your on you way to the bays.

Nothing to fault. Eggs Benedict was great, service was friendly and thorough. Gallery was amazing. Dog was beautiful.

I am from Christchurch the south island first time to the area. I must say what a delightfull and wonderfull place this helena bay cafe and gallery is. I bought a coffee and some food.it was so nice.and all of the working staff were absolutely wonderfull so friendly and so helpful they all were. I will for sure visit this place again.keep it up everybody your number one in my books top of the class

Great coffee and great staff. Avoid the entitled Boomers attacking the staff about Level 2 lockdown restrictions. Bravo to the staff keeping us safe.

Amazing views. Great art/gift shop & gallery. My vegan burger was tasty but very over priced for what it was. Served with five potato wedges. Was there a potato shortage? Wish I'd taken a photo but was in disbelief/shock that someone thinks it's acceptable to serve it like that. As lovely as the Newfoundland dog is, I didn't appreciate his appearance at my table. Drooling over my plate & clothes. For the price & reputation, I expected better.

I ordered eggs Benedict. You want to have oozing egg yokes but my eggs were hard. 3 punny pieces of bacon and 5 raw leaves of spinach on each piece of toast, for me it was a letdown for what I was expecting for $18.00

Lovely place friendly helpful staff.
Food in cabinet did not look fresh so we went for a cheese scone. That had so much pepper in it left the mouth tingling. Scone was also not fresh.
Lovelly view and the gallery was very nice.

Nice views good little cafe with great local artist shop. The artwork is of a very high standard so don't expect anything cheap. Can get really busy on sunny warm days. Parking can become a bit of a challenge!

Great place to kick back and relax over looking the coast. Great gallery next door. Worth stopping by and looking around

This is beautiful cafe run by lovely people. The food is great and they also have an elite art shop where you can find unique up market art pieces to purchase.
