Great food, great atmosphere and service! Had the passionfruit margarita, best cocktail ever! Thoroughly enjoyed the fish of the day, my partner had the belly pork. Absolutely delicious.
We will be back!

Great views out to the beach. They've just extended the outside seating area, so nice and spacious. Great food as always, and child friendly, though with the extension they've removed the playground.

Excellent service! Meal portions are huge and their food is beautifully presented. Cocktails. Well you should definitely taste your way through the menu. Lovely night out.

I ordered the beef burger, thinking that for around $25.00 would be amazing value for money. Well, the truth of the matter is that it was not only really expensive, but extremely over priced. I was/am still so disappointed with what I got. I'm amazed they actually thought that would be ok.

From when we arrived the staff were really friendly, relaxed, efficient and the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The menu offered many options for everyone either with allergies, particular taste palettes or just really hungry and bar to appease the travelling kiwi or visiting tourist. Amazing food with very generous helpings and prices that will leave you making the Cove Cafe a must stop when you are travelling north

Unfortunately I had a terrible time yesterday with a group booking where even though I rang the day before to let the manager know there maybe up to 25 or more people, he didn't fill me in on the system of payment after 23l2 or more they split it by the number of people! If I'd known this I would have canceled! My friend was ordering only a chowder& drinking water& my brother ordered steak, a side& two beers (as a comparison), so my friend would have been paying an equal share but her share of the food was minimalistic to what others were having, not fair. Fortunately after a debate with the manager he said this is a one of but well charge separately! We will not be going back sorry, your method of payment sux. Get your act yogether& let people know this over the phone if it's a big booking! Also he was going to charge a $1: 70 pp person to put a birthday cake out, some people left b4 the we shared the cake, but we share it over the road. What a big let The Cove has been this yime& I've recommended it yo other people in the oassed& had groups there on a couple of occasions. Not going back till they sort themselves out.

They cater for people with allergies. Friendly staff, fantastic customer service, loved the food. I would definitely recommend. And its opposite the beach. Thank you Cove Cafe

Tha margarita pizza was nice but took an hour and forty minutes to arrive, one of the waitresses were rude to my husband twice when he wanted to order and then when we received the pizza, there was an eyelash on it. Also, we were overcharged by $10.00 on our total order.

Popular cafe (even on a very soggy day). Eat in to menu, or out, via cabinet food. Pizzas a speciality. Right across from the beach. Kids menu. Pleasant team at your service.

Would not suggest this place at all. Over the weekend we came here to eat and have a drink. The service from the waitress was perfect but the whole experience was the worst of any establishment I have ever been to.
Firstly we were served "fresh" oysters very quickly, only problem was that the oysters had lost their liquor and they were served on a warm plate without ice. When sent back, the chef tried to argue with the way they were served which is an absolute health risk with his reasoning.
Secondly, we found two dead insects in our jug of sangria and when we informed the waitress, she took one glass to the bar where they poured the sangria out and gave us just a clean glass with no drink.

The Cove Cafe is a mess and a hazard waiting to kill somebody.
The only reason for one star is because of the very nice waitress

Nice place. Good service, however we ordered the fish which was awful. We were told it was frozen but properly thawed. I think it might have rested at the bottom of the freezer for a long long while. Advised the manager so hopefully they will chuck it out and get some new stock.

Our family hired their side room for a special occasion. We have several family members with food allergies and they catered for all of us. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We'll definitely be back

Went in at 1pm Friday
And asked for two takeaways milk shake and was told by the girl she was to busy
When it was clearly only me at the till.

What a joke
Coffee takes longer to make.
Would have ordered food and cakes.
But left instead
Would not come again
Poor decision on serving me

El loco pizza was great, the crispy pork belly wasn't crispy but tasted good and the tiger beer in the 500ml glass washed it all down beautifully.

A tasty DIY burrito for lunch with pulled pork, chilli beans and smashed avocado. A glass of French Viognier- not often seen on a wine list. Beautiful setting overlooking the stunning Waipu beach.

If it doesn't say cabbage on the menu why do I get 3 cabbages on my plate? We were a table of 10 and all the food looked the same. Very average. #takeoffthecabbage

Visited group of 10 including children. Cafe humming. Nothing was a problem, service could not be faulted. Menu great for all tastes. Loved my burger. This wee gem has really got its act together

Very friendly helpful staff. Nice food, great location and parking for camper Van's and boats across the road which is very convenient
