The Pioneer Bar & Restaurant

The Pioneer has yummy food and wonderful service. The pub atmosphere is inviting and the outdoor area is a great place to relax and have a drink.

Good quality service - no mistakes made for our special requests. A few seating options with different levels of lighting. Menu had a decent variety of selection without having three hundred options, staff were accommodating to special requests.

The Guinness was great. The salt & pepper squid was the best I've had. They were generous with the fries too.

Food well presented, prices as expected. No atmosphere in the restaurant. NO FACE MASKS WORN BY ANY STAFF MEMBERS

Myself and two friends went there on a Friday night. Not very busy, and the atmosphere definitely felt a bit flat. Staff seemed rather un-eager to be there and did not scan the COVID passes- just sorta glanced at them.

We ordered the squid starter, with the mains being the baby back BBQ ribs, scotch fillet and lamb shoulder roast.
The fillet and roast were incredible. Melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked to perfection. The ribs were alright. The ‘Korean BBQ’ flavour wasn’t quite right, but they were delicious nonetheless. The ‘sticky rice’ they were served with however… was an absolute affront to rice itself. No clue what they were trying to do there, was somehow dry and stodgy at the same time! Not to mention a strange white residue none of us could place. Certainly didn’t add anything pleasant! Might be time to change that menu item to a normal BBQ rib with potato instead of rice…!

Overall though, the other meals and cocktails were good. Still, for the price the service and atmosphere could be a bit better.

Medium rare steak not cooked properly and ribs were sad, garlic bread although nice is quite a frugal size, and desserts are just a whole lot of sweetness.our party of 3 was underwhelmed with the food but the prices were quite the opposite, upside observation for the night was the good service but would look at spending over $200 for a night out somewhere else.

Thank you so much for the perfect dinner. Really appreciate the way you guys helped me to get a perfect dinner with all the food restrictions I have. AIP/ PALEO is very stressful but these guys nailed it.

Such a gem in our community - a place to enjoy dinner with the kids, or a drink with mates. I love walking into a place where it feels like home when you arrive & the Pioneer truly is this to me & my family.

Nice meal but this place has a habit of having tables in reservation from 5.30am without anyone sitting there a couple of hours then turning you away, when you could of had your meal and left. We've decided to give it a miss now.

Top quality stuff, good game o pool with the boys. I quite enjoyed the atmosphere… yea nah good place for a brew.

There was a fly in our food. The customer service was slow but then again it was busy other than the fly and it being busy with only 1 waitress the food was very good

The food was outstanding. We had 4 different dishes amongst us and they were all great. Best meal out ww havw had in a long time.

Love this place too just to have one raspberry an coke 1 ice after work to finish nightshift off great staff have fun when we go there. Happy customer

Fantastic staff who make you feel really welcome and at home, The food is Amazing and reasonably priced with big servings that leave ya as full as a Doctors wallet!
This is definitely one of my favorite places to relax.

Easily the best wee local pub in town, Food is excellent too, Prawn tacos and chicken wings on the lunch menu are my current go to and you can't go past the salt and pepper squid followed up by the steak for dinner all washed down with a couple of cold pints. Kids menu gets thumbs up too which is a bonus (my kids are pretty damn fussy)
Tyler and his staff are all awesome and that's why this place has become my new local since our family moved north.

Friendly staff, great food with very generous helpings. Great prices for quality meals. Lots of seating and cosy fire in winter. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing weather it be hang out time with your family kids included, girls avo or dinner date with hubby food is great plenty of space for the kids and beautiful interior and outdoors spaces
