The Pioneer Bar & Restaurant

We had the two for one lunches and it was great value. I had the chicken burger and my husband had the BLT. They were both lovely!

Deceptive little place, looks like a whole lot of nothing from the outside but well impressed on the inside. Like an old speights ale house, rustic and inviting, has everything you need/ want - great food, atmosphere, sports, pool tables etc

The staff are great, friendly and inviting. The atmosphere is always great. The extras like pool, karaoke and quiz are great fun. You will also love the food. Get down there

Been to The Pioneer a couple of times now with my husband for a lunchtime meal and drink. Service is friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We have eaten both times food is excellent and plentiful, plus good value for money. Would highly recommend

Went and had dinner with a friend and her cousin, the food was amazing and affordable and the staff were very friendly and kind:) a very nice place to sit in either the bar side or the very nicely decorated restaurant. It has improved so much since I last visited quite a few years ago when the bar was owned by someone else. Will definitely be going back

After spending the summer holidays recommending the place to family and friends, and its been a while, e since we stopped by.time for our own visit!
Hubby had the steak? Yeah knew he would, and to keep our tradition I had the chicken loin burger.both scummy, washed down with the house merlot Koropiko bay, nice drop.
We were early to arrive before start of dinner but all good as our wine was poured, some us time spent chatting!
Once ordered dinner didn't take long to arrive. Perfect.
Had been a while between drinks but its the New year so looking forward to enjoying your company again sometime soon

Had lunch with Hubby.we both had burger and fries.it was amazing, best burgers we've had in ages. Staff were great.your barman was especially lovely.thanks heaps will definitely be back blessing Ruth Hendrickx

The promotion of 2 for 1 meal was so awesome.
I hadn't been to Lunch for a long time and it was gr8 to get out! The menu was gr8 and we enjoyed both meals equally.

Love the Pioneer. Food is great- regularly go for both Lunch and dinner. My husband is addicted to the Prawn Tacos. Great kids menu and the team is always happy to adapt for fussy palates. Love our loud little local!

Apart from our meals being slightly over done, it was great as usual. Such awesome value for money with their meals and they are such great portion sizes

Called into the Pioneer on our way home from up north and was very impressed with our meal. Started with garlic & herb foccacia. Very tasty and nice & hot. Hubby thoroughly loved his large portion of beef shin and my chicken breast was well cooked. Nice friendly service from all the staff.

Great food, very nice and attentive staff, but the men's toilets smelt like spew and there were flies bothering us at the table

Starter came out while I was eating my main. They had tried to drown the bland tasteless ribs in a hot sauce that still didn't disguise the fact they were overcooked. To be honest, it was like I was eating a piece of cardboard. Small meal, left hungry. Will never return. Poor service, even worse food.

Over priced average steak definitely not 250g and have to pay extra for sauce. Seafood chowder was more watery than the kerikeri river.

First time too the Pioneer.
Food was really good and laid back atmosphere.
Nice Wood Work really good look. Couple of nice looking Pool Tables definitely be back too give them a go. Staff were friendly an easy to deal with. Pioneer Restaurant and Bar worth a look.

Sadly overcooked meat.lovely service people. So sad as we would love to make it our preferred lil local

Great meal again. Had to wait for it to open at 12 noon but worth the wait. Cheers guys. Awesome place for leisurely lunch meets.

Great meal - recommend the lamb shank. The pork chop special was great too. Friendly staff, excellent service, well priced.

Very disappointing! We had a voucher for a 2 for 1 ribs meal (there were 3 of us), arrived on one of the appropriate days at 1200 to find they would be closed for a further 20 mins due spillage in kitchen. We went for a drive to kill time, returned, got a table and went to place order only to be told it was only at dinner time, this was not printed anywhere on voucher, I for one will not come back as this was 2nd bad experience under this management.
