I've experienced a wide variety of campsites in the last few weeks.this one is the worst.everything is worn or stinks. Our cabin smells as if fried onion rings had lived here for 2 weeks before us.the washrooms are disgusting. WiFi may work, but probably not.

Booked via Wotif. My error with the date meant they woukd not change the date nor refund the money that I had paid via Wotif. Did not stay there. Found much nicer lodgings elsewhere.
Never going to use Wotif for bookings again. They said they had contacted Central City about making a change. These thieves took our money and gave us NO accommodation. Do not stay at this venue, they are thieves.

I booked for two cabins but only one was cleaned. The other cabin has a lingering cigarette smoke smell and beddings are not properly cleaned, totally different from the photos of the room and bedding I have seen before I booked. Long story short, we stayed in one cabin and asked for a refund (to this day, three weeks after we left, no refund has been given). The next day, I saw a professional cleaner was sent to clean the cabin. Before we left, a female couple living in one of the cabin were fighting outside and in the public bathroom. It appears to me that they are long term tenants as I have read in another review about their fights. It was very traumatic for my children to witness them. I and another camper has spoken to the staff to call the police but nothing happened. I had been following up regarding the refund until now but likewise, no action has been done.

Service was good, housekeeping needs attention. Cabin was dirty. The bed was comfortable. The grounds of the place needs a massive tidy up. The place has been let go and needs work. Not as central as I thought

The place is beautiful the bathrooms and kitchen are fairly what you pay for. But I disliked how my family and I had problems when we first got here the lady was so rude and was demanding money when I asked her politely to wait until my family and I were finished talking as we just had a heated moment. She could not wait and just stood their while we tried to problem solve. The rooms are cozy.

Had difficulty booking online. Rung instead. Woman appeared to find my kiwi English difficult to understand. Offered me booking at full price due to fact I didn't book online. Unhelpful and rude.

Could use some TLC for sure. Good location and central region which is helpful after a big day of driving. Facilities are very runned down, the wifi did not work and you are given a timed shower. The women’s bathroom only had one cubicle with toilet paper. We slept in our van and paid for a non powered site approx $37 overall. Could be worse but also could use some improvement

Rather run down and definitely more “basic” than expected. It was very difficult to contact them by phone and Wifi didn’t work (spoke with staff who conceded that it was very slow and was effected by the weather.)

Only thing this place has going for it is that it is close to town, but it's old and needs some TLC. Expensive per night considering you have to pay for washing machines and dryers, dosen't even have pegs for the clothes line, free wifi is limited to a few hours.
It does have a dump station for campers and ample room for campervans.
Wouldn't recommend this place unless you want something close to town.

Amenities were okay but staff were emtpying bins between 11pm and midnight, wheeling wheelie bins across the gravel right beside my van at midnight makes a lot of noise. Everytime I got to sleep another two bins were dragged past. I Struggle to understand why this was happening but staff told me it was because this was forgotten to be done earlier. Still had pretty rubbish sleep before an important meeting.

Lady who did check in was not very happy to see me, where as the man who delivered bedding was really friendly wouldn't stay again theres a reason it's the cheapest place on booking.com its basic

This camp is old and looks shabby. It's clean and the ablution block is good. It could look way better with some TLC. Pull the weeds out of the guttering and create a garden.

OK a bit dear. Not much space between motorhomes. Grass spots limited most on stones. They sure pack em in. Ablution block popular. You could see owners were trying to keep the place in good order, new microwave and grannies old lounge suite. Lol. Code needed for toilet and kitchen. Not much privacy for snoring etc.

Family of 4 stayed for 2 nights in the cabin bunk room. We weren't aware there were no blankets provided. Room had beds, a shelf, a small table no chairs. Kitchen was ok needed a pin to enter which on the 2nd day the pinpad wasn't working and not opening the door. Its also locked between certain hours so those of us that get up early (5am) and need to be on the road by 6am cant have breakfast/coffee before work. Also needed a pin to have a warm shower which after 7mins (less time for males) the water went cold and you would need to exit the shower walk over to the entry bathroom door enter the pin again and then enter back into the shower. Overall the stay was ok but for the amount we paided were expecting more.

Nice little campground. Flat places for your tent, clean facilities, nice staff.

Kitchen has toasters, small ovens, kettles, stoves, some cutlery and pans (not many pots and only small ones). But it works.
It is short walk to the Pak'n'Save to buy stuff and to the city centre in general.

WiFi - you get 1GB for free, after that you probably have to pay (not sure, didn't need more).

Stayed a couple of nights, comfortable and clean, and a good location too, good value for the money.

Great place, the TV has prime, the showers give you the perfect amount of time (they are on a timer) the only drawback is the wifi ($15NZD for 1024MB) but overall it was a great place to stay

Friendly staff. Small campground in a great location. The facilities/decor could be updated but otherwise it's good value for money and gives you everything you need. Coin operated laundry, toilets, hot showers and a full communal kitchen, dining and lounge/tv room
