32You be the Judge! We were 2 women in our 50's whose combined spend for our lunch was $73. In that we ordered 2 Bowls of oyster soup. Both of us found only ONE small less than even soup sized oyster in our soup. The overwhelming flavour was pepper. Both of us left the soup. We spoke to a waitress and said we were disappointed in a pleasant manner. She came back to us and said someone would be out to see us soon.something we hadn't asked for. Next minute a man arrived in an aggressive manner and said what's wrong. When I said we were disappointed each bowl only contained one small oyster each.he replied in an abrupt manner that its luck of the draw and usually you would only get 2 or 3 per bowl. He then said in an angry tone what do you want to do with it Mate! I'm a 59 year old woman, I'm not your mate and I felt threatened by the unprovoked intensity of the manner you spoke to us. We were not seeking our money back.we were just pointing out our disappointment. We have previously eaten here.but how the owner! Spoke to us today we will certainly not be back.
Staff appeared to be racist looking at myself and my partner up and down. Their conversation and smile were false
Waffles are really good and value for money is quite good. Large portions and a wide selection make it a good choice.
Went there for Breakfast got the Kiwi Breakfast, The ordering process seemed an inconvenience for the waitress, didn't ask how I wanted the eggs. The service was very quick, friendly (different server to the one that took my order) only a couple of minutes and breakfast was served. The food was pretty good but Sausage was like warm. OJ and Coffee was spot on.
Grab an eggs bene in Gore … or any number meals from an extensive list. Friendly staff will look after you very well.
Amazing food and great coffee. Lady that served us wasn't overly cheerful or happy but would still highly recommend
Had the big breakfast. Was great. Not oversized or too heavy. Just the right amount for price. Everyone working was polite and greeted me with a smiling face.
Do not get the roast of the day thinly sliced lamb like out the deli, microwaved an not up to par. Other food looked ok chocolate fudge was nice, I waited 20 minutes after everyone else got there meal place wasn’t packed, left unsatisfied
Disgusting manners from older blonde staff member who was extremely rude when I had asked why she had given me a small cup when I had paid for a regular caramel ice late, and had also neglected to add the caramel. When asked about the cup size and adding the caramel I was met with an extremely rude response making me leave in a horrible mood. Will not be back and will not recommend to anyone I know.
Called in again in July when visiting Gore and the Oyster soup was just sooooo delicious I wished I was staying longer to have some more next day. Certainly restored my faith in the southern oysters cos the battered ones we had in Waihola this year were not as good as the year before.
I loved this place, meals are great will call again when I'm in Gore, I come from Invercargill.
Ok, maybe we were pushing it a bit expecting to eat at 2pm on a Saturday. The seafood chowder was bland and watery, the nachos meat was also a bit watery, nacho chips were cold, and the merest sprinkle of grated cheese dust on the nachos. A generous dollop of sour cream though.
What a Fabulous Cafe, 1st time here and definitely not the last. Great service, Beautiful atmosphere and the food was perfect
I highly recommend they're Paninis. Definitely the Best I've ever tried, Bacon and egg, chicken and Cranberry take your pick, perfect just perfect
My other half an i had paninis. They were beautiful! Full to the brim with filling, perfectly heated with out being burnt or soggy, fresh, nicely presented and lovely staff. Service was a little longer than expected but well worth the wait. Thank you Table Talk Cafe, beautiful lunch for us! We will be coming back again.
Went back for our beautiful paninis, food was fantastic as it has been but to our huge disappointmemt, one of the staff members- an older blonde lady was speaking to a customer and swore! We were really disappointed, an it bought the entire class of the place down quite a few notches! Hope this is addressed for the future
None of the staff were wearing masks and they didn't scan my vaccine pass, merely looked at it. The coffee was okay
Nice clean Cafe. Extensive menu incl kids menu. Only had a date scone and coffee which were good. Toilets available too
A great selection of food, but it was very tasteless. The staff weren't overly friendly which is always a shame.
Great Hot chocolate.club Sandwich was excellent with great amounts of filling while custard square was "spot on". Efficient service. Good size area that was not noisy even though lunch time at its peak.
Lovely fresh and tasty food. I noted that customers were taking their time over their food and drinks which indicates a relaxing place to sit and eat
A colleague and I popped in for lunch yesterday 31st June 2021 we eagerly ordered the $14.50 bowl of fresh Oyster soup. An absolute nonsense, have lived in Southland 30 yrs we we're served the worst Oyster soup in Southland. I'd go further and ask you to re-advertise the dish as roux soup, a fresh bowl of lumpy wet flour!
