Orca Restaurant and Bar reviews
63Food is awesome here. Good service, polite staff, good outside view. I tried their special coffee which was different and had very strong taste, it wasn't my taste.
Lovely work outing, service was amazing and great ambience. Decor matched their theme. Rare steak was cooked to absolute perfection. Highly recommend the apple tart for desert. Would've loved to see more selection on the cheeseboard.
I realy like the friendly and well manner of the staff.
Great food.
I'll tell all my friends to go there.
I'll go there again.
Top level service on a quiet mid-winter, mid-week night, original menu, lovingly crafted. A wonderful venue, strongly recommend.
First time in NZ cafe the Vienna coffee was up to scratch. Service with a smile and a little rain dance.
The fish just melted in your mouth, salad was fresh and tastier and the chips perfect. Highly rate this place. Warm friendly welcome and lovely atmosphere.
Our dinner at Orca was good, but not quite what we hoped for. We both ordered the market fish which was King fish with lippies, chorizo and pasta. The seafood was fantastic, but we were underwhelmed by the rest of the dish. Overall, good, friendly service and an okay experience.
Sheltered outdoor deck out back with view of Raglan Harbour, which makes this cafe unique, as well view from inside restaurant/cafe. Nice service.
Sorry but we ordered two coffee when no one where there and after 2 reminders and several people already served we left 1 hour later thirsty and disappointed. It happens but for our first morning in Raglan it was not really cool
Was very disappointed with dinner on Friday night. The shared plates were so small, not very tasty and the potatoe was not cooked properly on the beef dish. Certainly not value for money.
Was looking forward to visiting Orca as it was recommended. However after sitting down and then trying to find staff to let them know we were there was told we couldn’t sit on the deck due to having a dog and we were only allowed to sit in a dark courtyard. Pretty sad as place wasn’t busy and thought society had moved on from being so intolerant to including all.
Really lovely menu, friendly staff, great location. We chose the fish and chips which were really fresh and tasty. Would love to visit again.
Lovely place, seating indoors and out, food that is consistently good, sports bar with pool table area, great staff. Go for a quick coffee, a nibble or a good meal
Top quality food here, which belies the casual atmosphere. Feels like a gastro pub but delivers like a serious restaurant. Whoever's in charge of the kitchen knows what they are doing, and service was professional but relaxed and friendly. Some good wines on the list. We enjoyed our dinner here very much indeed and would go back without a second's thought
Had lunch here today had to wait 55 minutes for three basic meals. There were not too many diners.so why the long wait, plus no apology for the delay. The food was good but not worth a 40 minute drive to have to wait so long for the meal
Great location and views over the water. Simple menu and reasonable prices. Not too much character but the location makes up for it.
Food and service were fantastic. We in fact ate at Orca twice within a few days. Each experience was great.
Such a beautiful experience with the fam, would definitely go there again with my son jeff, unless he passes away. Staff were very pleasant and kind! Toilet was very clean!
Service was fine. Menu passable. The $20 fish and chips meal looked like they’d split one the fish from one plate between four plates. And the chips were pretty average. I wouldn’t go back as this seems indicative of a restaurant that makes its profits off transient tourists and indifferent Holidaymakers at the expense of locals. One star- if you want a bigger, better feed pay the chip shop five bucks.
