Redoubt Bar & Eatery

We stopped here for a drink and afternoon tea. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well very efficient. We ordered a couple of sides and the portions were very generous. Interesting memorabilia on the wall celebrating Matamata's sports history.

Fantastic food, staff were so lovely I was by myself and they made me feel welcome. Best part of the meal was the Creem brulee.

Why does everything in Matamata have to be Lord Of The Rings themed (and priced accordingly) ? Otherwise great food and hospitality

Maybe you should put the hours up that you actually serve food? Late night implys just that. We were tired after a long day on the road and this place was recommended by the motel as late night dinner. Kitchen was closed as at 8.45. Disappointing and unfriendly staff member. Will never return

I Always stop off on the way back to Aucks after a day Mountain Biking the food is amazing pizzzzzass yumm the bar maids are very friendly and use my name nice enviroment recommend it to anyone passing thru the Mata.

This was a wonderful find on our wait to the hobbiton movie set, amazing food and friendly staff, would highly recommend this bar and eatery

Meals here are great! A place definately worth dining at. Staff are welcoming and very pleasant (Thank you Emma) The vibe in here is awesome with the tunes and decor to keep you buzzing. Highly recommend stopping in or making it a regular if you are a local. Food is fresh and the best pub food ive eaten. Thank you!

Great spot for a drink and something to eat. I was recently in matamata and dined there with a group. Good selection of monteith beers and good pub menu but done well. The ir beef burger was filling and full of flavour.

Had the crispy chicken on the new lunch menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the flavours. Will be back. Great service

Great pizzas, gluten free no issue. Fab beer selection - service was a little slow but would definitely come back.

THE BEST PIZZA I have ever had, and I have had a lot of pizza the servers were helpful and friendly, the food was amazing and the drinks were good as well. If you're in or around Matamata, you HAVE to try The Redoubt Bar!

Just stopped off for a quick rest and bite to eat. Just had a selection of starters to share. Waiter fantastic food even better. Live duo entertainment great atmosphere.
