The Verandah Cafe & Function Centre

Came in the resto because my child is hungry. Ordered dessert slices as their kitchen’s closed already. Got myself a cup of soy latte - and it tastes disgusting. I only took two sips and I have forced myself to take another one.

I visited this morning and was a great experience.
Was full, which means that the place has a good reputation.
Nice place to seat with friends and family. The barista made a perfection of a Capuccino and a Long black and the tree cheese scone was fabulous.keep up the good work team. Nice impression from the cashier to the barista, cheff and the people bringing food to the table.

Very slow food service and pretty average food. Reasonably expensive. Probably only survives due to its good location by lake and playground. Nice building

Very crowded, noisy chatter inside, breakfast menu stops 11.30am. Would pay to reserve a table as people tend to linger. Live music a bonus unless seated right next to it. Definitely would return

Overpriced, not good value for money, portions are small, Staff unhelpful and Rude, great location but lacks atmosphere and was a complete flop for my friends wedding reception which was held here. Management needs a shake up rude and obnoxious.

Great place to enjoy an evening or an afternoon looking over the might Hamilton lake. Good options of food and coffee.

Bought fish n chips. Thought it was average. Fish was average, chips was average. It was fresh but not very much to my liking. Quantity was bit less. Average experience for me. Wait time is like 30 mins. Better to go in city and grab a feed in a Chinese fish chip shop.

Attended a function and the food was absolutely divine, well presented, and tasted great, would come back again!

Menu a bit limited. Dont really cater for specific dietary requirements. Was looking for keto and very limited.

This is my go- to place when we go down to Hamilton. I love their Altura coffee. I know they are busy lunch time but they need to clean the table properly. Cabinet food is decent. We love chicken Buffalo wings.

Lovely location! Staff were friendly, and could easily find seating in non-peak hours. Coffee is pretty good too!

I've seen other reviewers being displeased by a 15 minute wait time for coffee when the cafe is busy. The Verandah Cafe approaches Auckland levels of busy, and 15 minutes to wait for a coffee is actually quite quick for a cafe which also serves food. If you want quick takeaway coffee, go to a Starbucks.

Went to a wedding reception here recently, the 2 brides certainly icked an amazing place for their reception.

Great location.nice coffee, tasty food and friendly service. Sitting out on the "veranda" overlooking the lake and the playground is very enjoyable and relaxing.

Had such a yummy coffee and pie from here recently. Was beautiful to sit outside and enjoy my coffee while watching people play/walk round the lake. The cabinet food was so good and my friend loved her meal too. Will definitely be coming here more.

Place is good, food is good. I've been going here from many years. It's got a perfect location however I'm giving 3 stars because of the wait time as it's mostly busy u suppose. Most times I've waited for a coffee for 20 minutes or more. If you're getting a quick take away, not the best place however it's nice you are dinning in and you're with someone, so you don't realize on the wait time and whole experience seems quite good. The staff is kind and very welcoming

Overpriced food what was on offer and service was awful. Very disappointing. Not a place I would recommend to anyone

Hard to provide a write-up: mainly because of Covid conditions. Very long line of customers due to the fact that so much documentation has to be produced per customer, which is taking time to process. Obviously a popular place: lake edge. Very busy the day I visited so hard to be negative when there are many families lining up for service.
Staff were efficient checking necessary documents.

Decent size breakfast meal. We had the Lake Breakfast. It was OK but lots of individual components, nothing to bring the plate together and a bit dry.

Great view from the veranda, reasonable food, poor selection of drinks and expensive compared to the central city, location fabulous, but don't step in what the ducks leave behind.
