Good staff and location. My Bacon muffin was nice but the kumera in the salad was only half cooked. Maybe firm kumera looks better in salads but I like mine soft. Two members of our party had a banana cream donut. The filling was nice but they both commented that the donut itself did not seem fresh.

Not overly busy. Excellent customer service. Prices are pretty much up there. Meal portions are on the small end, but then I am a bigger person. (no left overs).
Otherwise enjoyed the overall experience.

A very pleasant brunch experience for 3 of us, with 2 of us from North of Auckland joining a friend from the Waikato. Generous plates of food served with cool refreshing drinks in a warm relaxed outdoor setting. It was like finding an oasis after 107 days of lockdown in the Auckland "desert/prison"

Waited 15 minutes in line, ordered two items that are already pre-prepared and on display, sat down for another 20 minutes waiting for the food to be heated? The pork in my over priced sandwich had not been heated throughly and tasted like fish. This is unacceptable I won’t be coming back here.

Team members were friendly, I see they are looking for more staff, perhaps a new manager will suffice.

Paaaaainfully slow service. Several staff members ignored me while I stood at the counter as the first in line. Even started a conversation with another customer about how poor the service was. And I was only buying a bottle of coke. Nice surroundings though

Coffee machine was out of order, wait on food was 30 mins and there was a fly in their food cabinet, so that stopped me from getting food or coffee. Nice atmosphere, great view, unfortunately everything else wasn't.

Lovely location by the childrens play park and lake. Food just about ok, though bit unusual for the childrens meal chicken nibbles to contain bones, for us not good.
Also as one or two other reviewers have mentioned that the service leaves a little bit to be desired.
The inability to listen (in my case i asked for beef and bacon pie which was ticketed at $8.50), when queried at the till why I was going to be charged $15, was told that was the price and that was that. I changed my order at that point!
As there was a long queue at the counter i rechecked on my way out, bacon and egg was $15, the pie I was attempting to order was indeed $8 50.
I was pleasant throughout and really did not appreciate the eye rolling as I thanked the server at the end of the transaction.
Having worked in retail myself I would suggest that here the staff training needs to be improved.

I have just been here for coffee. No staff wearing masks and yet the boy on the till demanded I put a mask on. When asked why they qerent wearing them he said they didn't need to. This shocking behavior and terrible service, so will never go back. (Even the coffee wasn't good)

Food was good, 4/5. Tomato was mush.
Drinks were perfect, 5/5.
Ability to take instructions were 1/5. Asked very specifically for the cabinet sausage roll to be brought out before the breakfast mains, expected maybe a 3-5 minute wait on the sausage roll after sitting down. Did not get a sausage roll until 15 minutes later when the breakfast mains came.
Lady on the till clearly not trained.
Would like to come back.

I've been to the verandah a couple times, always loved the service, today however was different.

I'm deaf, and have no problem ordering because I can speak well, with masks it can be difficult to hear me, so I after 3x of repeating myself I wrote my order down on my phone, which was just a large cappuccino with almond milk. I paid via pay wave so I was unaware and didn't see the price until I was handed the receipt. I paid $8.50, for one cappuccino and next to the price had iced coffee. I questioned the girl serving me only for her to reply with "they are the same thing". I said no they ain't and we kept going back and forth until someone came over. I'm not sure if she was just ignoring something that was clearly written down or if she was just being ignorant? But I hope this doesn't happen again.

I did enjoy my coffee, which was lovely, thank you.

We had a presentation here for work and it was great, super fast communication from Scott and everything was so easy from the initial arrangement to setup on the day)

I attended a work related session in one of the function rooms, which was catered for by by the venue. I have a long list of food allergies and was very impressed by the chef and what he created for me to eat, in view of how limiting my long list is.

Bit expensive great location at lake.need a fish and chip shop.just that everybody takes there families to the lake.and alot of people take there takeaways to the lake.every now and then, everyone likes fish and chips at the lake just a thought.need free bbq's around lake.just another thought.location is at lake entrance on hospital side

Had a shocker here after drawing attention to a staff member that there was a blowfly in the cold food cabinet. A feeble attempt to remove blowfly and finally left cabinet doors open at the back for blowfly to find his own way out. All the food including ham goods were left in the cabinet for an unsuspecting customer to purchase. I was there for 12 minutes, nothing done, left with takeaway coffee and will never be back. Absolute shocker, would give zero if I could.

Coffee ruined by over heating milk.
Worst thing u can do is to boil the milk. Changes taste and structure of milk, resulting in dreadful coffee. Each times I've been here it's been much the same.
Also food is very expensive.

Hello. We were not impressed in these covid times when all protocols were observed but while having our coffee 4 tables were vacated and dishes etc cleared away BUT no wipe down of the table tops. They were not busy at all. This definitely needs attention. Very sloppy.

Very poor service. Staff just taking thier time to serve food and coffees. 3/4 hour waiting for coffees, then had to go ask where was our drinks. Won't be going back there. Very sad service. Know smiles from staff when talking to patrons.

Delicious chips! But mediocre service. Small sample size but they told my wife it would be 5m then it was 10 to 15. She had to be like "are those my chips? " cos they were sitting there. Then they were super delicious so I went back to order more and had THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE. Still yum tho

No waffles available for our 88 yr old Nana even though it was on the all day breakfast menu. Food was very average and not worth the money you pay. Over priced and the service was terrible. We had to keep going up to the service till to ask for water and to order anything which we found to be an overall very disappointing experience. Staff were all undertrained and appeared very disorganised. Best thing was getting out of there and taking the kids to the playground!
