1841 Bar and Restaurant reviews
75A busy night and we were a big group, even though they had a staff shortage our meals arrived on time and the staff were really pleasant.
I had a good time and the upstairs venue isn't too bad for private functions. Staff were very friendly too
Had the Cesar salad was excellent and generous. Really good find. Recommend!
Came again on Monday special waited over an hour. People who came much later got their food almost imidiatly. My pork was salty so we're the veges. Some of the veges were under cooked. Do not recommend to come for dinner.
Great atmosphere to gather with friends or family
Service was good but 2 peoples meals were slower than everyone else's
Other than that great place and staff were very helpful
We always love going to this place for lunch or dinner.
Great family atmosphere, good for the kids with colouring in books provided, big meals and comfy booths to sit in
It was quite crowded on a Tuesday evening but our food arrived timely. We had a good experience dining there; service was commendable!
We were a group of 8. My lamb/veg pie was delicious. Unfortunately my husband's ribs were a bit tough, but I must say there were plenty of them and we took half home and cooked slowly for hour or so and they were perfect
Good food, generous portions and good prices. Had a big group but service was very good and quick. Have been here several times never dissapointed
Quintessential pub food. Nothing super fancy, but a good deal of it and extremely well prepared. Front of house staff are always on point.
They kindly put a lot of thought and effort into making my brunch vegan when I was there, consulting with me to make sure I was ok with the changes. It’s this thoughtfulness that will have me coming back on a regular basis
Fantastic meal, my 400gm Ironside just melted in the mouth. The other meals were also on point. Staff were fantastic, I feel for them having to wear masks while we don't. Great service, great food, we'll be back for sure
Went for brunch. My bench mark for any brunch place is are their poached eggs runny. 1841 served the best poached eggs I've ever had. The Island Bay pork sausage yummy. Crispy hash browns. Bacon and tomatoes. Even the bread is worth a mention all yummy. One of the best points is portion size not too small, not too big just right.
Highly recommended.
Staff always friendly, beautifully clean establishment. Meals are a large size. Highly recommend the pork, hops scotch had a overpowering char, beetroot relish did helped but the char on the steak was still intense overall a well run nice establishment.
Used to be quite good and a bit of a destination for a good feed, but last couple of times prices seem to have jumped, meal sizes reduced, and meals themselves been underwhelming.
Great place with wonderful food. Try the beef salad, the chicken burger or the ribs.all delicious.
Well where do i start im a regular at 1841 absolutely love this place but tonight different story. We ordered the platter and came out with majority fries and had random burnt bits on the fish. When we got our mains which was a beef roast it was dry as heck the veges were uncooked carrots were actually raw and the Broccoli was brunt and had a weird aftertaste from the gravy. Just disappointed with the food tonight relly dropped the ball.
Nice place to eat lunch. The steak sammie is amazing. Cooked perfectly and came with toasted bread, letuce, slices of tomato, chips, and caramelised onion. The staff and service are great.
Celebrated my son's 40th birthday at a catered function. Good food, great service from the staff. Much appreciated!
Great service but the food was a letdown. Filo pastry when reheated should be crispy light and moreish.was bitterly disappointed with the Sogy not even heated to 85 degrees wanna b filo that I was served. I know it's lunch guys but wen ya lose ya MOJO in the kitchen.it comes out looking like my Wana b filo
Made a booking for 8pm over the phone no issues arrive at the restaurant and we're declined entry because one of the 4 of us was 17 and can't be in there without a legal guardian even though we just wanted dinner not drinking and there was also little kids under 8 running around inside. Now we have to struggle to find a restaurant at this time. Just a heads up if anyone is thinking of coming here and aren't 18 not impressed ruined our night. Thanks guys. RESPONSE: I also understand that you guys have to follow the law no problem with that as I also have worked behind a bar but the issue we had is that you didn't take 3 seconds to tell us that you enforce those rules in the restaurant as well as the bar I don't care that it's the governmens rules, you enforce them so you should inform your guests about them don't try and blame the government because you are to lazy to tell your guests, it's poor customer service and the fact you still can't accept the blame as it's a clear miss on your behalf shows you need some more customer service training.
