Cafe Lokum reviews
64For 23$ meal, the serving was tiny. Can hardly see any rice and can count the number of salad leaf.
We really enjoy coming to Lokum. It’s always great food, reasonably priced and a friendly atmosphere.
DONT GO HERE! Cafe Lokkum has bad customer service. We popped in to have a late lunch and upon walking in, the staff were sitting down eating (which is fine). But the door was open and when we walked up to order, we were met with cold unwelcoming stares. The person who wanted to take our order had a bad attitude and hastily asked if we wanted to “eat in or not” and when we mentioned eat in, she said we could only order large kebabs and no other size. We walked straight out.
Highly recommend going to Kilim instead!
Large portions, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Quite possibly the best Turkish restaurant I have been to in New Zealand and whenever I am in The Hutt or Wellington I make sure to drop on by
Excellent food, great service, good portion sizes. Excellent ambiance and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
My partner and I love coming to this place. We’ve brought our friends along and they loved it. It is the best. The service is top tier. You are served by the owner who is very attentive and kind. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The food is fresh and tasty. Every bite takes you to Turkey.
Sorry i got the wrong kebab shop. I posted a review on this cafee but actually it was a different one in petone. Sorry.
OMG literally everything about this place is amazing! The food is to die for and the service is amazing. The staff are super friendly and helpful and our food came super quick. Another plus is the location it’s super close! Making me want to move to turkey
Best Turkish food ever! Highly recomend:)
The food is fresh and very tasty. Freshness of salads, dips and meats is very important for me when having Turkish food and this cafe ticks all the boxes for me. Amed the owner is also very friendly and knows what he is doing with the food:)
To be honest, food here makes you feel like you are in South Europe.it is sooo good! This place easily became one of our favorite. It is easily the best Turkish restaurant in Wellington, and the meat is so tasty. Love it! Highly recommended.
We are vegetarian and love Turkish food, the mezze plate for 2 was more than we could eat. Loved the selection of dips, especially the eggplant and beetroot and under the bread was salad and olives. I bought some Turkish Delight as we left and it is some of the best I've eaten. The decor was interesting, especially the clock.
Very poor dining experience. Very disappointed.
The food we would like to order wasn't available, and tea we were ordered never was delivered.
Overall, food was tasteless.
Please keep in mind, they are charging you for the "pay wave".
This is my third time dining here and it was really nice food. The owners who I guess are family are very friendly and welcoming and overall the its a great place to come in for a meal.
Thank you.

Came in here for lunch with two other family members and we all got a mixed escander each and we all enjoyed it very much. Very tasty meals and well priced too. We all recommend this lovely Cafe/ restaurants to you all.
Thanks again.
Its a great atmosphere in there! It felt like we where in an Abba movie! Great food! Great people! Best of the best Turkish delight!
So sad,
We absolutely love Lokum, their food is delicious and the staff is always friendly.
We ordered 4 chicken meze’s which were $25 each ($100 total) and the portions were significantly smaller then we have come to expect. I dont think it is good value anymore at this new size.
Called in after a movie and got seated quickly without having a booking. Husband had the recommended beef moussaka and I had a kebab. Little bit of a wait but restaurant was busy and the food was well worth the wait. Cheap and delicious meal!
Always enjoy this place; the food, service and pleasant, quiet ambiance. Love their Shish kebab, and baclava with ice cream!
We usually have a takeaway but decided to eat in this time. We all had kebabs, mine was chicken. Was delicious with nice fresh ingredients and I like that they put tabouleh in the kebab as standard. The others had chips, I don't eat them but they looked so good and the seasoning smelt so yum! They said they were nice.
Good reasonable prices, very filling. I really like that when I've had a kebab from here I don't have a pool of sauce at the bottom that spills out everywhere.
Would definitely recommend this place.
Really nice kebabs. The hot sauce actually has some heat which is nice. The lunch deal is pretty good value but outside that a bit spendy for a turkish spot.
Just had our order delivered by deliver easy the meal was on time and the delivery person very polite… the meals were delicious and very authentic. Tastes just like my nagymama and Dado used to make (grandma and grandpa) … a large menu selection. The meat was excellent and wasn’t too fatty at all, the ingredients were fresh and the chilli was hot just how I like it. Will definitely order again and visit the restaurant in person with family. Thank you!
